Chapter 3

As soon as he expressed his intention, the Boss's spring-like warm smile vanished in an instant. His numb, unfeeling face looked like it was carved from wood. After a long pause, he forced out a sentence: "Credit must be firmly resisted. If you don't have money, you can trade something instead!" With that, his gaze wandered back and forth over Eric Ford.

Eric Ford felt his blood rush, his forehead heated up, and he slapped his left hand on the table, shouting, "Do you want a finger, an arm, a leg, or my heart, liver, spleen, stomach, or lungs? Just name it!"

the Boss's expression didn't change as he replied coldly, "No need for that. But lately, I've been wanting to try some wild game." With that, he slowly closed his eyes and said not another word.

Hearing this, Eric Ford's eyes lit up. He turned and ran toward the woods, where he found the the Hunter.

The the Hunter introduced himself: "My humble surname is Scott. If you're interested, go into the woods and help me catch a few wild rabbits!"

Eric Ford remembered those absurd excuses from Mr. Thompson and the others, and curiously asked the Scott Hunter, "Why don't you go yourself?"

the Scott Hunter gave Eric Ford a slight smile and said, "I'm lazy!"

"There really isn't a single decent person in this game!" Eric Ford cursed inwardly, then took the bow and arrows given by the Scott Hunter and headed deeper into the woods.

There were indeed quite a few rabbits in the woods, darting here and there. Even cuter, some of the dumb ones didn't even bother to run when they saw a person.

Eric Ford was grinning from ear to ear, striking a pose like Hou Yi shooting down the suns, but the arrows he shot flew like Galileo dropping iron balls from the Leaning Tower of Pisa.

Damn, this bow really isn't that easy to use. He simply tossed the bow aside and started throwing the arrows like darts. That actually worked better than shooting them with the bow. In no time, all the low-IQ rabbits nearby were caught.

He picked up the smallest one and stuffed it into his arms, grabbed the rest, and cheerfully went to find the Scott Hunter. the Scott Hunter praised Eric Ford highly and said he wanted to give him his beloved bow and arrows as a keepsake.

"No need, I already helped you throw away that broken bow of yours!"

"What, you threw it away? Do you know, that was from a long, long time ago..."

Ignoring the Scott Hunter's legendary story, Eric Ford dashed back to the general store. He handed the wild rabbits to the Boss, whose wooden face finally softened a bit. "What did you want again, paper, right? Fine, I'll give you this. Also, do me another favor!"

"What! You need help too!" Eric Ford shouted in exasperation, but then, afraid the Boss would go back on his word and not give him the paper, he immediately changed his tone: "What would you like me to do, sir?"

"See, it's this kid. I don't know whose child he is, but he's been messing around here all day, making it impossible for me to do business. I don't care how you do it, just get him out of here!"

Eric Ford's eyes lit up at this. Could this be Mrs. White's child? That would be perfect!

Without another word, he stepped forward, picked up the child, slung him over his shoulder like a sack, and dashed at lightning speed to Mrs. White's house. He dropped the child on the ground, "Auntie, is this your kid?"

"Ah, yes, yes, thank you so much! This child really is... huh, why does he seem to have stopped breathing!"

"I have no idea. No need to thank me, I'm leaving!"

With that, he spun around and sprinted off, instantly appearing at Edward Wood's house.

"Mr. Wood, I got you the paper you wanted!" "Ah, good, good, thank you, thank you. How should I thank you? Even though you've interrupted my creative process many times and snuffed out my inspiration, I still want to thank you. Please don't refuse my thanks. For someone as emotional as me, I can't guarantee what might happen if I'm rejected. If it causes any negative impact on society, the two of us will go down in history as criminals, and also..."

"Damn!" Eric Ford ignored Edward Wood's further analysis of the seriousness of the situation and turned to leave.

It's done, finally all the tasks are done! Eric Ford suppressed his inner joy and walked up to the the Village Chief at a relatively calm pace.

"the Village Chief, I've completed everything everyone entrusted to me. Can you send me away from here now?"

the Village Chief looked kindly at Eric Ford and said, "Good child, you are willing to help others and ask for nothing in return. I have decided to reward you! Don't be fooled by this being just the newbie village. In fact, many great masters have retired here, so we have preserved many lost martial arts and legendary weapons. Today, I will teach you one of them!"

"Ding!" The system prompt sounded in his ear: "You have completed the hidden quest in the newbie village. You may freely choose any internal skill, martial art, secret technique, or equipment you wish to obtain." Then a selection menu appeared before his eyes.

Eric Ford was stunned! There's actually something like this! What should he choose? He stammered as he asked the Village Chief: "Uh, the Village Chief, which of these is the best?"

"These can only be obtained by completing hidden quests. They're all good stuff!"

"Then which one should I pick?"

"Which one? I don't think I have anything called 'which one' here!" the Village Chief said in confusion. "Oh, I'll go look for it then!"
