Chapter 12

William Walker smiled, the mockery on his face growing even stronger. “Young, is your brain not working? Do you really think that just because you scammed a bit of money, all of Tiannan belongs to you? Do you know who my dad is? Old Tiger Walker’s son! If you dare lay a finger on him, just try it! You really think our old man is too old and useless now? Let me tell you, if we really wanted to deal with you, it’d only take a few phone calls!”

A black-clad bodyguard snorted coldly, his voice full of menace: “Kid, I don’t care who your dad is. Here, it’s Young who calls the shots. Believe it or not, I’ll beat the crap out of you!”

“So damn rude!”

William Walker shot him a glance, spat lightly, then turned to look at Eugene Young with utter disdain.

“Boss Young, these are the people you’ve taught? Not a shred of manners. I’m talking to you, and these random nobodies think they can butt in? What kind of upbringing is that?”

Eugene Young reached out to stop the black-clad bodyguard, whose face was flushed with anger, then gave a thumbs up and said, “Fine, William Walker, you’ve got guts. Since you keep bringing up the Wang family and Old Tiger Walker, then today I, Young, will give Old Tiger Walker some face. I know your dad and your grandpa don’t get along, and your family’s situation is tough. Both your parents are laid off, your mom’s health isn’t good, and her medical bills aren’t cheap every year. How about this, I’ll give you a hundred thousand!”

“Cash!”

“You take the money, and just call me uncle. After all, we’ll be family sooner or later, and I don’t want things to get ugly. Especially your little aunt—she cares a lot about face.”

Eugene Young said this in a carefree manner.

Back in ’96, an ordinary government worker’s monthly salary was only three or four hundred yuan. When William Walker first started at the police station, he didn’t even make that much. A hundred thousand was a huge sum—equivalent to twenty years’ salary.

For Eugene Young to offer a hundred thousand in cash right off the bat, he was definitely being ruthless.

It probably wasn’t just for the sake of the Wang family or Julia Walker.

From deep within William Walker, Eugene Young saw a certain fierceness.

Eugene Young knew very well that people like this are the hardest to deal with—if you can’t destroy them, they’ll haunt you forever. Whether or not Eugene Young admitted it, he knew William Walker was right—Old Tiger Walker’s family isn’t easy to mess with.

Don’t be fooled by William Walker’s apparent lack of status in the Wang family. If something really happened to him, and Old Tiger Walker got angry, it wouldn’t be easy to handle.

A hundred thousand was a hefty price. If it could buy his silence and let him get rich quietly, it’d be worth it—just consider it an extra hundred thousand in bride price for Julia Walker. Once he really became this kid’s uncle, would he still dare to be so arrogant?

Of course, if he took the money, the kid would definitely behave.

He didn’t look like the type who didn’t know what’s good for him!

“A hundred thousand?”

William Walker shook his head with a smile, took another drag of his cigarette, exhaled slowly, and shook his head again.

“Young, your illegal fundraising must be at least a hundred million, right? Maybe even more. And you want to shut me up with a measly hundred thousand?”

“Am I that cheap in your eyes?”

“Then tell me, how much do you want?”

Eugene Young was generous—if he was going to ‘spend money to avoid disaster,’ he couldn’t be stingy. If this brat couldn’t be silenced with a hundred thousand, he was just greedy!

“I want you to get lost!”

“As far away as possible!”

“The farther you stay from my aunt, the better. The farther you stay from our Wang family, the better!”

“Did you hear me, Boss Young!”

Chapter 7 Want to catch me slipping up? No way!

“Young Master Walker, you’re really something!”

Eugene Young stared at him for several seconds before giving a thumbs up for the third time.

“Allen Grant, take good care of Young Master Walker, let him learn a thing or two about how to behave!”

Eugene Young then turned to the slightly taller black-clad bodyguard on his left, then turned to leave, not forgetting to tease Young Master Walker a bit as he went.

“Young Master Walker, I won’t keep you company. I’m soft-hearted—I can’t stand to see others bleed…”

“Got it, boss, I know what to do!”

The tall black-clad bodyguard was overjoyed. He’d been cracking his knuckles just now, making them pop for a while, almost hurting his joints, but this punk hadn’t shown a hint of fear.

Allen Grant was furious!

Not to mention all the years he’d followed Young, even back when he was still running the streets, no one had ever dared act so cocky in front of Allen Grant. This was just asking for death!

“Young Master Walker, I’ll give you two choices: do you want to keep both your hands or both your feet? Or maybe one hand and one foot…”

Allen Grant strode forward, slapped William Walker on the shoulder, and grinned menacingly.

“Whatever!”

William Walker stretched out both hands.

“Whichever one you want, I don’t care!”

Allen Grant was stunned, staring at him as if he were an idiot.

Was this kid really stupid?

Did he really think that with the Wang family backing him, no one in the world would dare touch him?

Allen Grant didn’t care about the Wang or Li families—if you pissed off the boss, you were dead!

At his level, he had no contact with the families in Compound No. 1.

“Bastard, you’ve got a death wish, huh?”

Allen Grant was furious.

This kid was just too damn arrogant—even if he had the gods on his side, Allen Grant was going to beat the crap out of him today!

It was obvious Allen Grant was trained—he had some real skills. With a flick of his wrist, he grabbed William Walker’s arm like lightning, then flexed his arms, about to snap it in two.
