Chapter 20

The thin attendant spoke directly: "The information we've gathered is basically no different from what Ronald Anderson provided. This is enough to show that Ronald Anderson is quite sincere about fundraising in Abu Dhabi."

Mansell asked the fat man, "What about you?"

The fat attendant thought for a moment and said, "Ronald Anderson does indeed have a genuine intention to cooperate."

Mansell stood up and walked to the floor-to-ceiling window, gazing at the city outside. He said slowly, "We need to make our own voice heard in the film industry. Hollywood movies have the greatest global influence, but companies with entrenched Jewish interests or those close to them will not cooperate with us."

He seemed to have made a decision: "We can't give up on Hollywood. We'll proceed in two steps! First, try to acquire a medium-to-large production company. Second, support forces that are inclined toward us."

The fat and thin attendants immediately understood that their boss might have considered this as soon as Shanhai Entertainment arrived in Abu Dhabi.

"The money invested in 'The Purge' is nothing to us." Mansell said gravely, "If it succeeds, the benefits will be significant."

There is certainly risk in this investment—there's no such thing as a risk-free business investment, not even with oil, which rises and falls.

Moreover, according to the information collected, Shanhai Entertainment isn't large in scale, but it is an established production company.

The fat attendant suddenly suggested, "Should we buy Shanhai Entertainment?"

"No!" the thin one retorted. "If we simply invest in the film, having Shanhai Entertainment, an American company, as a front will make things much easier. If we directly buy Shanhai Entertainment, it would be a clear signal to the Jewish interests that Abu Dhabi is entering Hollywood, and it would be much harder to acquire a medium-to-large production company later."

Mansell nodded. "Makes sense. Ronald Anderson is absolutely right—Jewish interests in Hollywood are immense. As outsiders, if we alert them too soon, it will be detrimental to acquiring a medium-to-large company."

He smiled. "If we can buy a medium-to-large company, we can always merge with Shanhai Entertainment later. If the acquisition doesn't go smoothly, we can always increase our investment in Shanhai Entertainment."

Both the fat and thin attendants nodded in agreement—this was indeed the safest approach.

Mansell continued, "Keep good records and remind me to report on Hollywood and the sports club matters the next time I meet the president." He stroked his beard. "The investment in 'The Purge'... is decided now."

With the boss's decision made, the fat man had nothing more to add.

Mansell tapped his fingers and said, "Go find Ronald Anderson, I want to talk to him again."

In the venue, Ronald had just seen off an Arab guest when a staff member came over.

Upon receiving notice that Mansell wanted to see him again, Ronald immediately put aside his current tasks and hurried to the conference room upstairs. At this point, Mansell wanting to see him probably meant the investment in "The Purge" was settled.

How much would Mansell invest?

Ronald couldn't help but wonder—if it was several million dollars, the next steps would be much easier.

When it comes to money, the more the better, of course.

Given Mansell's status, he certainly wouldn't offer just a few hundred thousand dollars.

However, accepting such a large investment from Mansell also meant this was a big deal and couldn't be handled carelessly.

Anyone who treats a big shot from the Arab world as a fool is the real fool.

Fortunately, he wasn't really scamming anyone—he was just "borrowing" for three years.

"Hello, Ronald."

As soon as he entered the conference room, Mansell greeted him proactively: "We meet again."

"The pleasure is all mine," Ronald replied, still humble and sincere.

Mansell invited Ronald to sit down and got straight to the point: "This morning you said the project has a funding gap of $8 million?"

"Yes."

"Alright." After making his decision, Mansell displayed the generosity of an Arab tycoon: "The Abu Dhabi Investment Authority will invest $8 million in your project."

Ronald was overjoyed: "This... this..." He seemed at a loss for words. After calming his breath a bit, he said, "This is wonderful!"

His eyes flashed quickly over Mansell's face as he deliberately said, "Actually, we don't need that much. The fundraising event can raise $3 million, and another $7 million will be enough."

Mansell was even more satisfied with Ronald. This young man was truly impressive, different from the Americans he had met before. "Any extra money will all go into this project—make the film as outstanding as possible."

Ronald thought for a moment and agreed, "Alright!"

Mansell laughed. "By the way, I have a few small requests."

Ronald immediately became alert—he knew it wouldn't be that simple.

Chapter 12: A Bright Future

Looking at Mansell beside him, Ronald smiled. "Please go ahead."

The money hadn't arrived yet, so as long as the requests weren't excessive, he would agree for now.

Mansell said slowly, "The film must not contain any content praising Jews or slandering Arabs."

Ronald immediately replied, "Rest assured, the Arabs will definitely save the Americans."

Mansell nodded. "The name of the Abu Dhabi Investment Authority must appear prominently in the film."

"No problem." Ronald thought for a moment and said, "Just like the Shanhai Entertainment logo, it will be placed separately at the very beginning of the film."

Mansell, having seen Hollywood movies, understood what this meant. "That's fine." He added, "You must do your best to get this film released in theaters, not just on video."
