"Number Three, target locked, ready to shoot at any time."
On the low rooftop several hundred meters away, three snipers had already fixed their sights on their respective targets.
Inside the bank.
"Ten..."
"Nine..."
Lauren Clark wiped the sweat from her palms on her shapely legs, her attention fully focused on the slowly decreasing numbers on her phone.
"Three..."
"Two..."
"One..."
As soon as the words fell, two faint gunshots rang out in succession from afar!
Pew! Pew!
The man slightly to the east grunted, shot in the head, and collapsed limply to the ground, his firearm sliding across the polished floor into a corner.
At the same time, Lauren Clark pushed off the marble floor with her bare feet, her delicate body darting forward as she smoothly shoved a woman toward the south.
Bang! The third shot!
The knife-wielding criminal was hit, crying out in pain as his dagger clattered to the ground.
"Help!"
"No!"
The crowd erupted, terrified screams breaking out one after another.
However, an outcome the police never expected occurred!
The target assigned to Sniper Two was completely unharmed. The criminal was dazed for only half a second before his face twisted with ferocity and he dashed toward the crowd. He knew that without a hostage, he was as good as dead.
"Damn it!" While running, the criminal happened to spot Lauren Clark lying on the ground. A surge of wild rage instantly flooded his body. He raised his cold gun, aiming in that direction, ready to pull the trigger.
It's over!
Lauren Clark and the police all gasped in shock. If someone was injured due to a sniper's mistake, the police department would bear enormous responsibility!
Outside, nearly every officer's heart leapt into their throat as they stared intently at the lobby.
Lauren Clark, Director Parker, and several officers with binoculars had the clearest view. They saw the gun from the just-killed criminal swiftly slide to the feet of a middle school student. Without any hesitation, the student actually picked up the gun, gritted his teeth, and aimed it at another criminal.
"Bang!"
Eric Bennett hadn't expected the trigger to be so hard to pull; it took a second try before the bullet fired.
"Bang!"
He squinted, trembling, and shouted as he fired another shot!
That scar, nearly a decade of resentment, the thunderous gunshot—Eric Bennett felt he could barely control his emotions.
"Bang!"
That was the third shot!
He didn't dare look at the criminal's condition. To avoid repeating past mistakes, all he could do was keep shooting!
"Bang!"
After the fourth shot, Eric Bennett, under everyone's stunned gaze, was panting heavily, his whole body drenched in sweat.
With no professional training, Eric Bennett had actually only hit the criminal in the abdomen once. Even so, the criminal was brought down by the intense pain, unable to get up.
Outside the door, dozens of police officers rushed in all at once, the heavy footsteps snapping Eric Bennett back to reality. Remembering his past, he turned and retreated, dragging the gun as he ran toward Lauren Clark, who wasn't far behind him.
The muzzle was aimed right at her!
Lauren Clark, who had just escaped danger, didn't even have time to thank Eric Bennett before she saw him aiming at her, looking as if he was about to shoot. She frowned sharply. "What are you doing?" The police who had rushed over were stunned, all stopping in their tracks, not daring to move. The leading officer tried to use the gentlest tone possible: "The criminal has been subdued, you've done a great job, we'll report it and reward you. Come on, put the gun down first, it's all over now, it's all over."
The situation had just improved, but unexpectedly, this middle school student had thrown everyone back into a tense atmosphere.
Eric Bennett, agitated by the blood all over the floor, veins bulging, had no time to waste words with the police. He slowly walked toward Lauren Clark, finger always ready to pull the trigger.
Now, everyone was truly panicking.
Lauren Clark forced herself to stay calm, squeezing out a charming smile. "Young man, thank you for saving me just now. What's your name?" She figured Eric Bennett might be in shock, his mind disturbed by the intense events, which led to this situation. So she tried to change the subject, hoping to calm him down.
Eric Bennett ignored her, continuing to walk forward slowly.
Lauren Clark made one last effort. "You must be starting high school soon, right? Hehe, my daughter is too this year. Young man, which school did you get into?" From a distance, Director Parker watched anxiously, secretly nodding. Only now did he recognize the beautiful woman. Her ability to stay calm in the face of a gun made him feel a bit of admiration.
Whoosh!
Eric Bennett suddenly charged forward!
"Oh no! Director Clark, get out of the way!"
Director Parker shouted in terror, and several officers behind him even raised their guns, aiming at Eric Bennett!
Lauren Clark was just about to close her eyes and accept her fate, but at that moment, she suddenly felt two figures closing in on her from front and back. Looking up, she saw that the student's gun was actually aimed at the person behind her.
The knife-wielding criminal!
He wasn't dead yet!
His face pale, he pressed a cold blade to Lauren Clark's neck, but Eric Bennett was even more terrifying—he shoved the muzzle of his gun straight into the criminal's mouth!
