Chapter 19

The earth, which had just calmed down a little nearby, was suddenly thrown into chaos again. In the face of the giant beasts with unmatched power, all living things seemed as fragile as paper.

Brian Cooper, along with countless surrounding soil, rocks, trees, and more, was swept up by the shockwaves unleashed by the two battling behemoths. First, he was hurled high into the air, then came crashing down, so battered and disoriented that he lost all sense of direction.

It was in this chaos that Brian Cooper suddenly heard a strange sound.

"Crack!"

The sound was somewhat deep, yet carried a crispness, as if something had suddenly snapped.

Then, all around, everything fell abruptly silent.

Brian Cooper, still gasping for breath, looked up and saw two enormous figures standing not far from him. Perhaps, if either of the giant beasts took even a careless step, he would be crushed into pulp without a second thought.

But Brian Cooper paid no attention to this danger. He simply stared at the massive forms entangled in midair: the beast that had appeared later had its bloody maw clamped around the neck of the first monster, and even now had not let go. That crisp sound just now seemed to have come from between the teeth of that terrifying mouth.

Chapter 10: Beastification (Part 2)

The monster that had once brutally slaughtered countless humans now seemed to have lost all its vitality, its neck hanging limply.

After a moment, Brian Cooper suddenly felt a warmth on his face—a hot liquid had dripped onto him.

He glanced down and quickly realized it was a splash of hot blood.

But it wasn't red; astonishingly, the blood was golden!

A terrifying beast with golden blood—Brian Cooper had never even heard of such a thing in all his years, including the time he had spent in the inner ring, let alone seen one.

No wonder no one had ever seen or spoken of such a beast, and its power was so overwhelming.

But soon, he thought of something even more terrifying. Right before his eyes, this monster—capable of slaughtering a hundred or two human warriors with ease—seemed to have just been killed by another giant beast. And it looked as if it was merely prey to that other beast.

So, what kind of existence was this newly appeared giant beast, whose appearance he still couldn't make out in the darkness?

Brian Cooper felt as if his head was about to explode that night.

And not long after, Brian Cooper felt as if his entire body, from head to toe, was truly about to burst.

A sudden, violent heat erupted from deep within his bones, raging through his body like fire, engulfing him and setting him ablaze.

His reason could only withstand the sudden internal inferno for a short while before he completely lost consciousness.

Before passing out, Brian Cooper managed to glance at the dark figure ahead and saw the newly appeared terrifying beast releasing its grip. The monster whose neck it had bitten through collapsed as if the sky were falling, crashing heavily to the ground and, with a loud noise, smashing a huge pit into the earth.

Then, the newly appeared terrifying beast lowered its head, opened its bloody maw, and began to devour the flesh, eating heartily on its own.

The cruelty of nature was displayed here with utter indifference.

Golden blood flowed from the dead monster's body, spreading across the soil and reaching Brian Cooper, slowly submerging him.

This was the last scene Brian Cooper saw before he completely lost consciousness, and then his mind sank into darkness.

The forest, already nearly destroyed by the two giant beasts, looked especially desolate in the night. Yet the final victor clearly didn't care, still happily and excitedly feasting on the flesh and blood of its favorite golden-blooded monster.

Meanwhile, a figure slightly taller than Brian Cooper appeared atop the giant beast's head. However, at this moment, the beast in the darkness seemed to have only the instinct to eat, paying no attention to the figure.

The figure didn't care either. After surveying the surroundings, he suddenly let out a "huh?" and then, with a movement, leapt down from midair, landing beside the pool of golden blood. He reached out and pulled Brian Cooper's body out of the golden liquid.

"Just one person?" The voice was somewhat deep, tinged with surprise. He glanced at the already dead monster and muttered to himself, "How could such a small person make the 'Black Demon Mantis,' a golden-blooded monster, so berserk? What exactly did he do?"

Unable to figure out how someone as ordinary as Brian Cooper could have harmed or enraged such a massive and powerful beast as the Black Demon Mantis, the figure fell silent for a moment.

But after a while, in the darkness, his eyes suddenly flashed, as if he had noticed something.

He abruptly pulled up the sleeve on Brian Cooper's arm and immediately saw the strange green mark on Brian Cooper's wrist, which was still faintly glowing with a ghostly green light.
