Chapter 17

It’s not that he’s lazy, but rather that this is the most beneficial approach for him. He can observe many martial arts techniques—in simple terms, he’s currently learning by watching others. Among the seven or eight hundred people in the entire training ground, he’s secretly learning from all of them...

As for the behavior of Class Z, everyone else has always ignored it, so Ethan Brooks sat off to the side and no one paid him any attention; they just continued with their own training.

Three hours passed, and some people had already finished their training and left. This time, Ethan Brooks gained a lot—he developed a new understanding of the martial arts on this continent, which gave him a clearer idea of how to train himself and a more defined plan in his mind.

“So tired. Leonard teacher, let’s go back.” One of the students from Class Z called out, and when Leonard heard the voice, he waved his hand, signaling that they could leave.

Seeing that it was about time, Ethan Brooks also prepared to leave. But unexpectedly, a dozen or so people from Class Z surrounded him and dragged him away...

“Hey, hey, what are you guys going to do to me? I’m not a pack mule, you know.” Ethan Brooks clutched his clothes, looking like a bullied little wife...

Someone cursed, “Damn, I’m not interested in that.” Although he didn’t know what a pack mule was, anyone could understand from Ethan Brooks’s disgusting expression.

“Then what are you doing?” Ethan Brooks asked in confusion.

“What else? You tricked us out of a lunch today, so of course you have to pay us back tonight. Didn’t you win ten gold coins from that idiot Coville this morning? That’s just enough for us to have a meal.”

The people in Class Z are basically all oddballs. They wouldn’t bully the formerly weak Ethan Brooks, but they’re not afraid of the current Ethan Brooks either. Basically, they’re the type who fear nothing and no one.

“Well, actually, that’s absolutely impossible.” Ethan Brooks refused. He planned to live off those ten gold coins for a while; if he spent them, he’d have no security. Plus, he wanted to use those ten gold coins to buy a set of training equipment.

“No way. Even if you don’t want to treat us, you have to. At most, we’ll let you pick the place and order the food.” The people from Class Z understood Ethan Brooks’s predicament, so they just wanted him to spend all his gold coins to get back what was owed to them.

Braised beef, rum! They were still thinking about it.

“Ahem, fine, I’ll take you to a place.” Ethan Brooks said helplessly.

...

“This is the place!” Ethan Brooks led the eleven members of Class Z to a restaurant everyone was familiar with—the very one where he had scammed a free meal that morning.

“You again? You’re not welcome here.” The owner immediately tried to kick Ethan Brooks out as soon as he saw him. He didn’t even want the money for breakfast anymore; he just wanted Ethan Brooks gone.

“Boss, how can you treat customers like this? You’re still hung up on what happened this morning, aren’t you? Actually, I just wanted to test your restaurant’s service. I did it so I could bring my friends here for dinner tonight.” Ethan Brooks said with a smile.

The owner looked at the eleven people behind Ethan Brooks, all dressed in fine clothes and clearly nobles. He half-believed Ethan Brooks’s words and decided to welcome them into a private room.

In the end, Olivia Smith ordered a table full of food and drinks, and together with the other ten, they started eating, sweeping the food off the table. Meanwhile, Ethan Brooks sat alone in the main hall outside, drinking free well water...

Soon, Olivia Smith and the other eleven finished eating and left triumphantly...

After another ten minutes or so, Ethan Brooks also got up to leave!

“Hey, you haven’t paid yet.” The owner kept his eyes on Ethan Brooks, wary that he might slip away, since he had a record.

Ethan Brooks asked, “Boss, do you charge for well water here?”

“Of course not!”

“Then what money do you want? I just had a cup of well water.”

“You only had a cup of well water, but your friends ate a whole table of food. That’s five gold coins in total.”

Damn, those bastards can really eat.

“What does what they ate have to do with me?” Ethan Brooks asked, looking confused.

The owner snapped, “You brought them here, so of course you pay.”

“Boss, is there something wrong with your head? When did I ever say I’d pay for them? However much they ate, go ask them for it. What does it have to do with me? I brought you big business out of kindness, and you don’t even ask them for money. You’re crazy!!” After saying this, Ethan Brooks flicked his long sleeves and strode away.

The owner was stunned again...

“Hey! Damn brat, don’t ever come to my restaurant again, or I’ll break your legs!”

What a tragically elegant shout...

Once again, those beautiful eyes appeared by coincidence!

Chapter 12: Left With Nothing

Walking through Qili City, Ethan Brooks was like a country bumpkin entering the city, looking around in wonder, finding everything so new and fresh. He had never seen a city like this before. He’d seen plenty of Chinese-style ancient cities, but only heard of Western-style ones—never seen one in person.

Although there were some images in his memory, experiencing it firsthand was completely different. In the morning, he’d been preoccupied and hadn’t taken the time to appreciate it, but now he could take the opportunity to look around.

However, the route he was taking now was a bit odd—it didn’t seem like the way home. Could it be that he was already lost? After all, in theory, this was his first time going out.
