Chapter 7

Reaching this conclusion, Eric Bennett was even more shocked in his heart, because there were a full seventy-two ancient-blooded beasts, whose overwhelming aura should have been sensed from a thousand miles away. Yet now, standing right beneath this massive stone seal, Eric Bennett could not feel a thing. This meant that all the power of these seventy-two ancient-blooded beasts was being used to seal whatever was below, leaving not a shred of strength to spare!

The combined might of seventy-two great cultivators was still not enough to completely seal it.

Even though Eric Bennett had been the mighty Emperor of the Southern Wilds in his previous life, he was now filled with terror: What exactly is being suppressed down there?!

Henry Morgan casually tossed Eric Bennett aside, then carefully took out a delicate wooden box from his robe, opened it, and retrieved a triangular jade cong.

The jade cong was carved with algae-shaped patterns, exuding an ancient aura. He slowly inserted the jade cong into a matching deep groove in the ground. With a crisp sound, the jade cong slowly sank in.

“Ka-ka-ka”—three soft clicks in succession, and the ground beneath Eric Bennett and Henry Morgan silently began to descend. Eric Bennett saw that all around was warm, lustrous white jade, the material no less precious than the jade essence cultivators used as a source of spiritual power!

Eric Bennett felt as if he were inside a jade well, descending for about ten zhang, until finally a doorway flashed open to the side, and the ground beneath his feet stopped precisely at the base of the doorway, fitting perfectly.

Henry Morgan grabbed Eric Bennett and strode inside. The passage beyond the door was also arched with white jade, the jade walls glowing softly, illuminating the corridor. After walking several dozen zhang, the space suddenly opened up again, shifting in a mysterious way, and Eric Bennett now found himself standing atop a steep jade cliff.

Beyond the jade cliff was a wondrous void, filled with thick, jade-colored mist as dense as rice wine.

Within the mist, five clusters of divine light—red, blue, yellow, black, and gold—flickered dimly, and five towering jade mountains, each a hundred zhang tall, loomed in and out of view.

The five jade mountains corresponded to the five elements, and even their arrangement held deep meaning, subtly aligning with the Dao of the Five Elements, circulating endlessly.

Before Eric Bennett could even be surprised, Henry Morgan had already dragged him down, landing lightly beneath a crimson jade mountain. The clouds and mist seemed alive, scattering at the arrival of people. As the mist parted, a ferocious giant head suddenly appeared, its eyeballs as large as Eric Bennett, staring roundly at him. Fortunately, Eric Bennett had weathered countless storms in his previous life; otherwise, he would surely have been so frightened as to fall flat on his backside.

Even so, Eric Bennett was badly startled and took a step back. Only then did he see clearly that he and Henry Morgan were standing on an incredibly thick, round jade beam, one end of which was clamped in the mouth of that giant beast head. Turning around, he saw that the other end of the jade beam was also held by a similar beast head. In other words, the jade beam was gripped at both ends by two giant mouths.

Eric Bennett found the beast heads somewhat familiar. After a few more glances, he was stunned: Aren’t these two dragon heads?

Dragons, as divine beasts, were familiar to everyone. But with their mouths gripping a jade beam, their lower jaws hidden, they looked different from the dragons people usually saw, which was why Eric Bennett hadn’t recognized them at first glance.

The surrounding jade mist slowly dispersed, and behind the two giant dragon heads, their true forms gradually emerged. Two divine dragons were coiled at the base of the fiery red jade mountain, raising their massive heads together to grip a jade beam. The rear of the jade beam was connected to a jade pillar, which slanted into the grand jade mountain.

Eric Bennett now understood, and was even more shocked: Above, seventy-two ancient-blooded beasts were suppressing; here, there was the Five Prisons, and the twin dragons holding the handle—such a formation could probably suppress even immortals who had vanished for tens of thousands of years. What on earth is sealed down here?

After setting Eric Bennett down, Henry Morgan took out two diamond-shaped jade tokens from his robe and pressed them onto the foreheads of the two jade dragons.

“Boom!”

A thunderous roar shook heaven and earth.

The two jade dragons suddenly came to life, slowly retracting backward and releasing the jade beam from their mouths.

Henry Morgan ignored the dumbfounded Eric Bennett at his side, sat down cross-legged, and began to rapidly form hand seals in front of him. After stacking seventeen hand seals together, a flush of red swept down from Henry Morgan’s face over his entire body. He held a spell gesture in both hands, let out a muffled shout, then opened his mouth wide and took a deep breath.

With that breath, the surrounding air was sucked away, and even some of the distant jade mist was drawn into his belly.

“Ha! Fall for me!”

With a sudden shout, Henry Morgan’s body became as heavy as a mountain, pressing the massive jade beam down with a series of creaks until it finally began to descend.

The jade beam, dragging the jade pillar with it, pressed downward, opening a small portal in the jade mountain.

Compared to the entire jade mountain and the twin divine dragons, the portal was just a tiny crack. Yet as soon as it opened, it was as if the world exploded with a deafening roar. Countless notes filled the air, swirling like a raging storm, with innumerable voices speaking at once by their ears, forcibly cramming all sorts of information into their minds.

Suddenly, Eric Bennett remembered something and finally understood what was being suppressed beneath the jade mountain. But it was already too late—Henry Morgan stuffed a pouch into his arms and kicked him straight through the portal.
