“Haha, a country bumpkin wants to fight? Fine, I’ll teach you a lesson and show you what real martial arts are!”
One of the three martial artists wore a look of deep disdain as he strode quickly up to Mike Sullivan. A hick from the countryside actually wanted to fight him—wasn’t that just asking for death? Today, he’d use the Butterfly Fist he learned at the martial arts school to properly teach this kid a lesson.
As the opponent’s fist came crashing down, Mike Sullivan skillfully raised his left hand to block, stopping the punch with practiced ease.
“A martial artist?” The man’s face flashed with shock as he saw his punch blocked. This country bumpkin was actually a martial artist too? And at the same level as himself—both were at the early stage of Spirit Guidance.
In the instant the man was stunned, Mike Sullivan blocked the attack with one hand, while his right hand clenched into a fist and struck out in a move he had practiced countless times.
“Bang!”
Before the opponent could react, his face was struck hard by the punch, his nose instantly broken, and bright red blood gushed from his nostrils.
The sudden, tremendous impact sent the man sprawling to the ground, his face twisted in pain. He’d actually been hit—by another martial artist! And that kid, wasn’t he using the Farmer’s Fist?
That kid seemed to be at the same level as himself, but his own fist technique was far superior. He had paid to learn the Butterfly Fist at a martial arts school—how could he be hit by a bumpkin using the Farmer’s Fist?
The Farmer’s Fist, also called the Roc Fist, was the technique used by the founding emperor of the Roc Dynasty. After the dynasty was established, the technique was spread throughout the land, becoming a set of moves anyone could learn and practice.
At first, people were eager to learn the emperor’s fist technique, but gradually they realized it wasn’t as powerful as they’d imagined—in fact, it was so mediocre that it didn’t seem to have any advantages at all.
Later, even farmers would practice the Roc Fist in the fields during their spare time, and so people gave it another name: the Farmer’s Fist.
How could he have been hit by such a technique—one that everyone could use? He was using the Butterfly Fist he’d learned at a martial arts school!
He must have been careless—that was the only reason he’d been knocked down. Yes, that had to be it!
Still, that kid’s strength was really something—his punch left him feeling stifled!
Chapter 3: The Roc Fist (Part 2)
“Third!”
On the other side, seeing their companion knocked down, the other two were momentarily stunned. If they weren’t mistaken, that country bumpkin had used the Farmer’s Fist—and actually managed to defeat Third with it? That bumpkin must have had some incredible luck.
After a brief pause, the two attacked simultaneously, coming at Mike Sullivan from both sides.
Seeing their movements, Mike Sullivan reacted instantly, without a moment’s hesitation. Naturally, he stepped forward, swung his arm, and precisely grabbed the arm of the mid-stage Spirit Guidance martial artist opposite him. Then, spinning his body, he pressed his back against the opponent’s chest.
“What’s going on? How can this guy be so strong?” The mid-stage Spirit Guidance martial artist was shocked as his arm was caught. He was at the mid-stage of Spirit Guidance and had attacked with full force, yet his arm was still caught—how was that possible?
Before he could figure it out, Mike Sullivan, now pressing his back against him, suddenly jerked his back forcefully.
Immediately, a huge force slammed into his chest from the front, as if struck by a massive iron hammer, sending him flying.
His large body flew five or six meters through the air before landing, then slid another three or four meters before finally stopping.
With that fall, he felt as if his internal organs had all shifted, and the bones in his chest had been broken by the impact. Waves of sharp pain radiated through his body.
He couldn’t understand it. He was a mid-stage Spirit Guidance martial artist, using a basic fist technique learned at a martial arts school, and had attacked together with his companion. The opponent was only at the early stage, using the Farmer’s Fist that everyone knew.
His level and technique were both superior, yet he still lost. What the hell was going on? He just couldn’t figure out how that kid had done it!
After sending one flying, Mike Sullivan didn’t pause for a second. As his body spun, his elbow shot out like a sharp dagger, striking the chest of the other man with force.
Instantly, a stabbing pain pierced into the man’s body, and at the same time, a tremendous force hit him. Caught completely off guard, the man was sent flying as if struck by an iron rod, crashing heavily to the ground in the distance!
Defeated. He had actually been defeated—by someone at a lower level than himself, using the Farmer’s Fist that everyone could use, and at the same time his companion was defeated!
