Chapter 18

Even Jack Reed looked over with a big smile on his face. As for whether he had suddenly remembered to attack Samuel Scott's lower body halfway through because of Brian Carter's words, only he himself knew.

However, just as Brian Carter finished speaking, a figure charged over aggressively—it was none other than Samuel Scott. Unlike the smiling victor Jack Reed, Samuel Scott, having lost this spar, was extremely angry.

"Brian Carter, if you’ve got guts, don’t just run your mouth. If you’re a real man, come up here and fight me!" Clearly, Samuel Scott had also heard Brian Carter's words. If he had won, it would have been nothing, but since he lost, he became the backdrop for Brian Carter's showy remarks.

"What’s wrong? Can’t handle losing? Weren’t you just calling yourself a real man?" Before Brian Carter could say anything, Adam Cooper had already stepped forward. "You lost on your own, and now you’re blaming someone outside the ring!"

"Adam Cooper, this has nothing to do with you. Brian Carter, I’m asking you—do you dare or not!" Samuel Scott was forced back a step by Adam Cooper. Although Adam Cooper looked tall and chubby, everyone knew he was one of the toughest guys in the class.

But his anger still made him press the issue again.

"Hey, Adam Cooper, it’s just a friendly spar between classmates. Why are you so worked up?" At this moment, no one knew when David Morgan had already stepped into the ring, subtly blocking Adam Cooper.

"Class monitor!" Adam Cooper looked at David Morgan, emphasizing the words "class monitor." "What’s this got to do with you? What, you want to have a go with me too?"

Facing the class monitor David Morgan, Adam Cooper didn’t back down at all. Although one was the class heartthrob and the other the notorious joker and chubby guy, those familiar with Class Eleven knew both were top among the boys, so it was inevitable they’d compete.

Neither would admit defeat!

"Adam Cooper, don’t get carried away. I’m just being fair. What’s wrong with a little sparring between classmates? Brian Carter hasn’t even said anything, so what are you jumping in for?" David Morgan spoke with a hint of mockery on his face.

His words turned everyone’s attention to Brian Carter.

It seemed everyone wanted to know if he dared to step up. Everyone knew Brian Carter was only average in talent. Samuel Scott still had a chance to get into the martial arts class, but Brian Carter had no chance at all.

There was only a month left, and he was still only at the fifth level of the Body Tempering Realm, two levels behind. One month was far too short.

"Fine, let’s do it. Since you insist!" Brian Carter stood up and said.

He realized he was actually feeling a faint excitement. Normally, he would never accept such a random challenge.

His family’s situation meant he couldn’t afford to play real combat games. Although real combat led to faster progress, getting injured even once would mean a medical bill that would really hurt.

But now, after his breakthrough, he was actually feeling excited.

"Good, at least you’re a man!" Samuel Scott saw Brian Carter agree and showed a fierce expression. He wanted to vent all his anger from losing on Brian Carter, to let him know that some things shouldn’t be said carelessly.

"Are you really sure you’re okay?" Adam Cooper asked with some concern.

"Relax, it’s no big deal. It’s just a spar!" Brian Carter nodded and said.

After the two got ready, everyone else left the sparring area.

"Saying my lower body isn’t stable? I’ll show you just how stable I am!" Samuel Scott sneered, then immediately launched a kick straight at Brian Carter's face.

He didn’t just want to defeat Brian Carter; he wanted to utterly humiliate him.

"Idiot!"

Brian Carter sneered. He’d said Samuel Scott's lower body was unstable, and Samuel Scott really dared to attack like this.

Brian Carter's eyes flashed faintly with golden light. He simply raised his hand and blocked Samuel Scott's flying kick.

With a "bang!", Samuel Scott instantly felt as if he’d kicked a wall of steel. His foot ached terribly, but Brian Carter didn’t budge an inch, as if he’d just kicked a wall.

In the blink of an eye, Brian Carter took a single step forward and, with a simple straight punch, landed a direct hit on Samuel Scott's chest.

The punch was powerful—Samuel Scott was sent flying over two meters before crashing heavily to the ground.

In an instant, the place was so quiet you could hear a pin drop. Everyone was stunned. Samuel Scott lost just like that?

If his earlier match with Jack Reed was a hard-fought battle, even in defeat, at least it was intense. But what was this?

Brian Carter just blocked and attacked once, and Samuel Scott was defeated.

He lost too quickly, and it was just too bizarre!

Only Brian Carter himself knew that from the very start, Samuel Scott had no chance of winning. All his weaknesses were plain as day to him, and now that he’d reached the sixth level of the Body Tempering Realm, his physical strength was several times greater than Samuel Scott's.

So Samuel Scott never had any chance from the beginning.

"Damn, did I just imagine that?"

"How could this happen? I feel like I just blinked and it was over!"

"I must have seen it wrong, I must have seen it wrong!"
