The Supreme Demon Sect and my own Benson Order each hold sway as the leading powers of the demonic path, commanding the Myriad Demons Hall, and possessing one of the five great treasures of the demonic sects—the Heavenly Demon Liguang Ruler—to suppress their sect. The transmitted “Book of Parting Regret” is one of only three volumes in the demonic path that can elevate one to the rank of Supreme Heavenly Demon. Their strength even surpasses that of my own Benson Order, far outstripping the other four sects.
After I achieved the rank of Demon Lord, I broke into the Myriad Demons Hall and gambled three matches with Walter Benson of the Supreme Demon Sect, winning his three most outstanding female disciples.
We had originally agreed to gamble ten rounds in total, but after losing three, Walter Benson would rather lose the Myriad Demons Hall to me than continue gambling.
Edward Brooks, Charlotte Drew, and Grace Long also received my guidance and each broke through their own cultivation bottlenecks, but their feelings toward me were not deep—far less than my four true personal disciples. Perhaps, deep down, they even harbored particular resentment toward me.
If nothing had happened to me, they would naturally have remained disciples of Benson Order, never able to stir up any trouble. But now, with my own fate uncertain, keeping these three female disciples serves no further purpose.
Edward Brooks lifted her head slightly, her beautiful eyes devoid of emotion, and said softly, “Disciple wishes Master success in overcoming tribulation and ascending to the Thirty-Three Heavens!”
After saying this, she stamped her foot, transformed into a streak of demonic light, and shot into the sky, vanishing in an instant.
Edward Brooks originally had a very elegant name: Evelyn Brooks! Her appearance was stunning, making her one of the renowned beauties among the six orthodox demonic sects, and she was personally chosen as the chief disciple by Walter Benson.
Her status in the Supreme Demon Sect was akin to that of my eldest disciple Julia Grant in my own sect. Her talent and aptitude were no less than Julia Grant’s, and even her temperament was very similar to my eldest disciple—dedicated solely to the demonic path, with no other pursuits.
After I brought Edward Brooks to Benson Order, she changed to a more masculine name, usually dressed as a man, and deliberately used demonic arts to alter her appearance to be indistinguishable from a male. This female disciple never once resisted me as her master, nor did she ever try to curry favor—she followed the rules, as if carved from clay or wood. But I knew that deep inside, she still possessed an unyielding pride that had never been truly extinguished.
As my fifth disciple departed, she finally revealed a trace of the peerless grace she had as Evelyn Brooks, chief disciple of the Supreme Demon Sect.
Charlotte Drew and Grace Long exchanged a glance, bit their silver teeth, also wished me success in overcoming tribulation and becoming a demon, then each rode their escape light and flew away, as if unwilling to linger even a moment longer.
Had I not brought them to Benson Order, they too would have been the most outstanding disciples of the Supreme Demon Sect, with a future that might have included becoming Demon Lords themselves, or even taking charge of the Myriad Demons Hall.
Watching Julia Grant ascend step by step to Demon Lord, seeing Edward Brooks’s cultivation suppressed for decades, and their own paths cut off, their future achievements capped—if anyone claimed they bore no resentment, no one would believe it.
I watched these three female disciples depart, and finally turned to my youngest disciple, Nancy Young, grinned, and said, “You should return to the Emei Sect as well! I’ve spent most of my life contending with your father, even took his only daughter as my disciple and taught you demonic arts, but in the end, I still lost to him at the most critical moment. Now he has already ascended to the Thirty-Three Heavens, while I must face a tribulation with almost no chance of survival. He has bested me.”
Nancy Young bit her lip and said softly, “Disciple thanks Master!” She then pinched a talisman she had hidden in her sleeve, transformed into a streak of green light, and flew away.
I looked up for a while, and when I could no longer see my youngest disciple, I finally waved my sleeve and shouted, “You all may go as well!” Julia Grant, Samuel Wynn, Helen Shaw, and Philip Lane each kowtowed a hundred times, walked over a hundred steps to show their respect, and only then reluctantly rode their escape light and left.
Once all eight disciples had departed, I let out a light sigh, casually gestured, and three magical treasures appeared, circling around me.
After becoming a Demon Lord, I used cunning and force to acquire two of the five great treasures of the demonic sects: the Heavenly Demon Relic and the Yantian Pearl.
The former is the sect-guarding treasure of Benson Order, which rightfully should be under my control. The latter was obtained from the Qiankun Sect, their own sect-guarding treasure, but the Qiankun Sect had no one capable of resisting my demonic might and could not keep this treasure.
After I achieved the rank of Supreme Heavenly Demon, I didn’t need to use any tricks or even speak a word—the other sects of the demonic path obediently presented the remaining three treasures—the Heavenly Demon Liguang Ruler, the Great Freedom Heavenly Demon Banner, and the Huntian Demon Mirror—for my “appreciation.” Thus, all five great treasures of the demonic path came into my possession.
The five great treasures of the demonic path are not of this mortal world, but come from beyond the ethereal Thirty-Three Heavens. Each is wondrous and mysterious, with extraordinary powers.
The “Huntian Demon Mirror” can command all demons and is best at summoning extraterrestrial heavenly demons. It is the sect-guarding treasure of the Huntian Sect. Now, with heavenly, human, and fate tribulations coming one after another, I certainly won’t keep it by my side. If I did, and summoned endless heavenly demons, I wouldn’t even need to think about overcoming my tribulation—only about how to die quickly.
This treasure is suppressed in the deepest part of the Myriad Demons Hall by me; it absolutely cannot rebel.
As for the Heavenly Demon Relic, it has absorbed the essence of power from thousands of generations of Benson Order cultivators, as well as the dying demonic thoughts of countless Benson Order disciples. It is supremely evil, but I can usually suppress it. However, when I face my tribulation, the Heavenly Demon Relic is not only of no help, but is extremely likely to turn on its master. That is why I gave it to my fourth disciple, Philip Lane.
