Chapter 9

The scenery on the scroll was detailed and vivid, with peaks and streams rising and falling in a natural arrangement, as if all the mountains and waters of Emei had been shrunk a thousandfold and transformed into a miniature world imprinted in his mind. Within the scroll, every mountain and stream of the Emei Five Spirits Immortal Mansion, each cave dwelling, and every mountain stream was illuminated by different rays of rosy clouds, numbering in the dozens.

Richard King focused his consciousness on the main gate of the Five Spirits Immortal Mansion, where the glow was most intense. Amidst the auspicious clouds, a treasure appeared—ancient in form, with bold and simple patterns—it was none other than the Emei Sect’s sect-guarding treasure, the Hui Xian Mirror.

As he focused on the Hui Xian Mirror, some words appeared within the scroll: The Hui Xian Mirror is a rare treasure of the Immortal Mansion, the foremost sect-guarding artifact of the Emei Sect, with boundless wondrous uses. Not only can it reveal the presence or absence of demonic energy, but it can also illuminate the past and future, previous and present lives. At present, it has no master, but the treasure is sentient and must not be moved lightly...

Richard King was shocked, and shifted his focus slightly to the center of the Five Spirits Immortal Mansion, where a verdant green peak floated in the air, majestic and towering into the clouds.

Another line of text appeared in the scroll: Cui Bi Peak is the core of the Emei Five Spirits Immortal Mansion’s Two Realms Qianyuan Sumeru Golden Light Grand Array, the most secret treasure vault of the Emei Sect, presided over by Mr. Ford! This treasure was refined into one with the Five Spirits Immortal Mansion by Old Dean through a thousand years of painstaking effort. To move one part is to move the whole; without the cultivation of a True Lord, even with the secret to breaking the array, one cannot succeed. Within are stored the nineteen most powerful magic treasures refined by Old Dean in his lifetime, seven invisible immortal swords, the Emei Sect’s sect-guarding scripture "The Supreme Purity Treasure Register," half a scroll of "The Purple Mansion True Script," and twenty-eight volumes of scriptures collected by the Emei Sect from various schools!

Only then did Richard King realize that the places where the glow gathered on the scroll were all secret repositories of Emei treasures. He hurriedly opened his eyes, and all the scenes vanished.

The young man could hardly contain his shock. He opened and closed his eyes several times, finally confirming that this scroll existed only in his mind, visible to him alone, and not in reality.

Richard King suppressed his shock and fear, secretly pondering, “What is going on here? Why can the Yantian Pearl reflect the secret map of Emei’s Five Spirits Immortal Mansion, and even reveal all of Emei’s treasures in such detail? My Tianxin Sect is only a branch of the Demonic Path, and Master Foster’s cultivation is only at the level of the Six Desires Demon. How could we possibly possess such a treasure?”

In his agitation, Richard King inadvertently let slip some of his aura. Startled, he quickly adjusted his true energy to avoid revealing his Tianxin Sect cultivation.

Chapter One: Apprenticeship at Mount Emei (Part Three)

In the very heart of the Emei Sect, to reveal himself as a disciple of the Tianxin Sect would be disastrous.

Richard King racked his brains while secretly savoring the various treasures marked on the scroll.

Before long, the young man’s heart began to race, and he thought to himself, “There are several treasures on the scroll marked as ownerless. Setting aside the Hui Xian Mirror, the other treasures might just fall into my hands.”

Richard King had infiltrated Emei on his master’s orders to steal Emei’s superior Daoist arts. Now that he had such a good opportunity to steal Emei’s treasures, how could he not be tempted? In any case, he would grab the goods and run, and the elders of Tianxin Sect would handle the aftermath.

Richard King no longer cared to ponder the mysteries of the Yantian Pearl. He closed his eyes and roamed the scroll several times, finally fixing his gaze on a secret path behind the Five Spirits Immortal Mansion.

This secret path concealed a “Yuanyang Sword”!

One of the nineteen flying swords refined by Old Dean in his lifetime.

The description of this treasure on the scroll was most peculiar: Old Dean ascended in such haste that he left many matters unaddressed. As a result, even the elders of Emei did not know that there was a secret path behind the Five Spirits Immortal Mansion, passing through the mountain and emerging at the other end in Feilei Cave, nor did they know that a Yuanyang Sword was hidden there. Mr. Dean engraved his self-created Yuanyang Sword Formula and the twelve forms of the Yuanyang Sword Technique on the sword case, intending to pass them on to a worthy successor, but fate had other plans. Three years later, a demonic cultivator named Paul Grant sneaked into Emei, defiled the sealing spell, and the Yuanyang Sword emerged prematurely, shattering the sword case and flying away, causing the sword technique to be lost.

Richard King silently recited this several times, but a lingering doubt remained in his heart. He simply could not fathom how the Yantian Pearl could know events three years in the future, and even deduce things that even Old Dean himself could not foresee, both past and future.

One must know that the title of “Number One in the Daoist World” for Dean was not given lightly!

Not only was this man’s magic unrivaled, he was especially skilled in innate divination.

When Dean first began cultivating, his abilities had not yet reached the level of the Number One in the Daoist World, but every time he faced an opponent, he could rely on innate divination to predict victory or defeat.

Many whose cultivation matched or even surpassed Dean’s lost to this Emei patriarch because their divination skills were inferior. He could reverse yin and yang, disrupt cause and effect, and inexplicably cause many to make fatal mistakes—whether by anticipating the enemy’s moves and borrowing the right treasure in advance, cultivating a countering spell, or seizing upon the enemy’s destined calamity, challenging them when their power was waning, and ultimately defeating them.

In his prime, this Emei patriarch forced countless sects of the Demonic Path and evil ways, as well as many powerful old monsters, into seclusion!

There was even a saying among both orthodox and unorthodox sects: When Dean appears, all demons retreat!

Such was the awe-inspiring might of this patriarch.
