Chapter 13

The three of them, led by Thomas Moore, quickly arrived at the foot of a small mountain peak within the Wuling Immortal Mansion.

This small mountain peak was entirely emerald green, like a piece of crystal jade. It was, in fact, a magical treasure refined by Ancestor Yindingxiu to suppress the Wuling Immortal Mansion, named the Wuling Emerald Peak. It also served as the operational hub of the mansion’s protective grand array.

This treasure was extremely important, so all Emei disciples had been warned not to approach it lightly.

Thomas Moore pointed at the Wuling Emerald Peak and exclaimed, “This mountain has a mechanism. Just a slight turn and you can observe the surrounding territory for thousands of miles. It’s really fun—let me show you how it works.”

Richard King was startled and hurriedly stopped him, saying, “When we came up the mountain, we were already warned not to enter this place lightly. It’s one thing for you to play here, but to actually tamper with the hub of the Wuling Immortal Mansion—this is a serious offense. You’d better give up on this idea right now.”

Thomas Moore retorted rather arrogantly, “I’m bringing Brother York here to play—what does that have to do with you? If you don’t like it, just leave. But let me warn you, if you tell anyone about this, I absolutely won’t let you off.”

Before Thomas Moore finished speaking, Richard King had already raised his voice and shouted, “Thomas Moore, if you dare to tamper with the Wuling Emerald Peak, the entire Emei Sect will never forgive you. You’d better stop right now!”

Although Richard King had to conceal his identity and couldn’t use any spells, his voice was full and strong. He shouted with all his might, fearing he wouldn’t be heard, and his voice echoed through the clouds.

Thomas Moore’s expression changed dramatically. How could he not know that this was a serious taboo? But this little rascal had long considered himself part of the Emei Sect and felt that in the Wuling Immortal Mansion, he could do as he pleased, just like at home. His face darkened, becoming quite frightening, and he muttered through gritted teeth, “Even if you call people over, let’s see if they believe me or you! You’re nothing compared to Brother York. Sooner or later, you’ll be kicked out of the Emei Sect. We Emei don’t keep people like you who don’t know what’s good for them.”

After shouting seven or eight times, Richard King finally attracted the attention of the Emei disciples. Six or seven streaks of light rose into the sky in the distance, turned slightly, and then flew toward the Wuling Emerald Peak.

In no time, six or seven young men and women landed one by one. Each had an immortal bearing and noble aura, with unique energies swirling around them, and their cloud-like robes were extremely splendid.

The leading youth glared and shouted, “The elders have long said that no one should come here lightly. Why have the three of you disregarded Emei’s rules and dared to come here?”

Thomas Moore immediately rushed to say, “I was following William York brother and saw Jason Turner sneaking around, so we followed him to see what he was up to. Unexpectedly, he noticed us and turned the tables, accusing us of trying to tamper with the Wuling Emerald Peak. This treasure is the hub of the Wuling Immortal Mansion—who would dare touch it? For him to lie to this extent, his character is truly vile. John Lewis brother, you must stand up for me.”

The leading youth frowned slightly and was about to speak when Richard King sneered inwardly, thinking, “Thomas Moore’s ability to turn the tables at his age is quite impressive, but how could he possibly harm me? Still, this is a good opportunity to distance myself from the two of them.”

Richard King put on an angry expression and pointed at William York, saying, “Junior York! You were there too. Who wanted to bring us to tamper with the Wuling Emerald Peak, saying it could be used to observe the surrounding territory for thousands of miles, and that it would be fun to demonstrate it for us?”

Richard King was taking advantage of the fact that neither Thomas Moore nor William York knew that the Wuling Emerald Peak already had a master, and he had set a trap to lure them in.

William York hesitated slightly, glanced at Thomas Moore, and then slowly said, “Although Jason Turner and I were once fellow disciples and somewhat close, he was the one at fault here. You should admit your mistake to Ethan Lewis.”

Richard King laughed and said nothing more, only putting on a look of fiery anger.

Grace Lewis, whose secular name was John Lewis, was one of the four great disciples of the third generation of the Emei Sect. Since the elders were not present, he was the most authoritative person there.

Grace Lewis listened to all three of them, then frowned and said calmly, “Thomas Moore! Do you admit your mistake?”

Thomas Moore was stunned for a moment, then immediately said, “John Lewis brother, don’t wrong me.”

Grace Lewis sighed lightly and said, “The Five Spirits Incantation is one of the Emei Sect’s entry-level skills. You have already learned it, but Jason Turner and William York have not. Only you could boast about manipulating the Wuling Emerald Peak to observe the surrounding territory for thousands of miles. The other two don’t even know the key to it.”

Thomas Moore’s eyes darted about, and he immediately shouted, “I saw Leonard Shaw always whispering with Jason Turner. Maybe he taught him, so why pin it on me? John Lewis brother, don’t think that just because you’re a true disciple, you can bully honest disciples like me who haven’t even entered the sect yet.”

This statement made all the Emei disciples frown deeply, but Thomas Moore didn’t realize he had exposed himself. He loudly argued with Grace Lewis, putting on a show of being reasonable and fearless.
