Chapter 4

Right now, finding something to eat is the top priority, but looking around, there’s nothing but wasteland—dirt, rocks, and nothing else.

“Are you kidding me!” Ryan Bennett almost wanted to curse out loud. In the novels he used to read, whenever the protagonist appeared, they either had money or beauties, but him... how did he end up in such a desolate place?

I don’t ask for the legendary “kingly aura,” but at the very least, there should be a city where I show up, or at least some signs of life, right? Otherwise, how am I supposed to survive!

Right now, Ryan Bennett didn’t even know where he had crossed over to—a world of immortals, a world of magic, or a highly advanced mecha world?

He sighed. There was no point thinking about this now; the key was to find a way to leave this godforsaken place.

Ryan Bennett had no idea that the spot he was in was actually the battlefield where the allied forces of all races on Hailan Star fought a decisive battle against an extraterrestrial warship. Four layers of forbidden spells and antimatter weapons had shattered the laws of balance, space collapsed, and a black hole devoured everything. He had been brought here from Earth—in other words, he was the only survivor; everyone else had been sucked into the black hole. That’s why it was so barren...

After searching for a while, Ryan Bennett sat down in despair. There was nothing at all, and his stomach was growling loudly. No way, could he really become the first transmigrator in history to starve to death?

Luckily, heaven never seals off all exits. Just as Ryan Bennett was at a loss, he suddenly felt his hand touch something. It didn’t feel like dirt or rock. Ryan Bennett froze, then hurriedly started digging.

Although he had no tools, the soil here was very loose, so it didn’t take much effort to dig the thing out. How to describe it... it was something like a sheepskin scroll, densely covered with all sorts of symbols, or perhaps words.

“What is this?” Ryan Bennett looked utterly dejected. Could it be a magic scroll? But even that guess didn’t excite him. When someone is extremely hungry, even diamonds are less tempting than a steamed bun.

He casually wanted to toss the thing aside, but his hand accidentally got scratched by a nearby stone, and blood dripped onto the suspected magic scroll.

Boom!

A dazzling golden light instantly enveloped Ryan Bennett. Countless golden symbols appeared on the ground, flowing like mercury. In the brilliant golden light, magical elements began to swirl around the young man, and then his figure slowly faded away...

Thud—the scroll fell to the ground. The strange symbols on it had vanished without a trace, leaving only a faint trace of magical energy.

Everything returned to calm. It wasn’t until several hours later that signs of life appeared again in this desolate land. They were several unbelievably beautiful women. Their loose robes couldn’t hide their slender, graceful figures, and their exquisite features looked as if sculpted by an artist. Unlike humans, they had pointed ears, clearly marking them as elves.

“So this is the battlefield’s remains?”

“Yes, Your Holiness.” A green-haired elven girl bowed her head respectfully in reply.

“How could this be? This was a battlefield, with hundreds of thousands of troops, yet they’ve all vanished without a trace. Could this be a conspiracy by the humans or the beastmen?”

The other elves didn’t dare to respond. The saintess quickly shook her head. “But that can’t be. Their armies have disappeared too. If it were a conspiracy, it would be impossible to hide so many troops. Don’t just stand there—search the area and see if there are any clues.”

“Yes!”

The elves began searching, but where the black hole had appeared, nothing could possibly remain. Disappointment showed on all their faces.

“Your Holiness, there’s a scroll here.”

“Quick, bring it over.”

With her delicate hand, the saintess took the scroll and studied it carefully. Judging by the lingering magical energy, it had been used about three hours ago. By that time, the allied forces and the invaders had already mysteriously disappeared.

“Could there be a survivor?” A hint of joy flashed across the saintess’s stunning face. Unfortunately, from this discarded scroll, she couldn’t tell where it had teleported its user. But that didn’t matter—if she brought it back to the temple, the elders should be able to decipher it.

Although there were no other findings, the saintess was already quite satisfied. As long as they found a survivor, they could learn what had happened. This was extremely important for the elves.

The invasion of the alien colonial army had caused heavy losses to all races. Now, the original balance of power on Hailan Star had been broken. They urgently needed to know whether the mysterious disappearance of the allied forces was a human or beastman conspiracy—this would determine the elves’ future.

“Return to the temple.”

“Yes.”

The elves bowed, summoned their mounts—which looked much like cranes, only larger—and the scroll was personally kept by the saintess. On her breathtakingly beautiful face, there was a trace of determination and resolve: “No matter who that survivor is, or where he is, I will find him.”

Chapter 3: Beauty Saves the Hero

“Achoo!”

Ryan Bennett sneezed, rubbed his nose, and thought, I’m not catching a cold, am I? Could someone be talking about me? Impossible. I’ve crossed into another world and don’t know a single person here. As for my girlfriend on Earth missing me, there’s no way that longing could cross tens of thousands of light-years. Looking at the dense vegetation before him, the young man felt a wave of helplessness.
