It was after much difficulty that it finally got the chance to reincarnate, but before it could even see the light of day, it died again. This ghost could only swallow its anger and resign itself to fate. Not long after, it found another opportunity to reincarnate. This time, it ended up in the belly of the housekeeper’s wife of The Sullivan Family.
As the ten months of pregnancy were drawing to a close, it happened to be the lady’s fiftieth birthday. With not enough hands to help, the pregnant wife went to the banquet to deliver soup. Mrs. Sullivan, who had been infertile her whole life, saw the other women with their big bellies and was instantly filled with malice. She tripped the wife, then accused her of being clumsy and spilling the soup, causing her to miscarry again! Once more, the soul died before even touching the ground.

Chapter Five: The Cycle of Five Virtues (Thanks to Alliance Leader N/A for the support)
“Dying upon seeing the light” is already a very tragic thing, but for this ghost to die twice in a row “without even seeing the light” — one can imagine the bitterness in its heart. By this point, the ghost’s resentment was already boiling over.
However, with the local earth god’s consolation, it was granted yet another chance to reincarnate. The ghost was truly unwilling by now, but just at that time, there happened to be a rare literary gathering at the river granary. After exchanging poems with others, Mr. Sullivan got very drunk, and inevitably had a romantic encounter, resulting in a prostitute becoming pregnant. Knowing he had a fierce wife at home, he simply paid to have the prostitute settled elsewhere.
This time, the ghost saw that it was far from the The Sullivan Family mansion and thought its chance had finally come to reincarnate. Unexpectedly, word somehow got out. Mrs. Sullivan brought a gang of vicious thugs from her maiden family, and they actually dragged the prostitute back home and drowned her alive in a well!!!!
After three such incidents, the things Mrs. Sullivan did were truly too cruel. Even a Buddha would be enraged, and even the earth god felt ashamed. As a result, the ghost’s resentment did not dissipate. The next morning, people discovered that those thugs had drowned in the river after getting drunk. Then, the informant maid by Mrs. Sullivan’s side disappeared. Several days later, a stench was detected under Mrs. Sullivan’s bed, and only then did they discover she had been scared to death under the bed.
After that, every two days someone in The Sullivan Family would die. Mrs. Sullivan’s end was to have her head chopped off by a crazed Mr. Sullivan and boiled to mush in a pot!!!
After its revenge, the ghost was still full of murderous energy and intended to wreak havoc everywhere. But at this point, the local earth god stepped in to temporarily suppress it, then appeared in someone’s dream, instructing them to cover the well with a sun-facing bluestone slab, place his own statue on top, and have people worship regularly. The ghost was thus restrained and also received offerings, so it could only frighten people but could no longer harm them.
However, the power of the earth god’s statue, being a yin deity’s artifact, was limited. Under the ghost’s relentless assault, it too needed to absorb the spiritual energy of heaven and earth to replenish itself, and its way of recharging was through moonlight!
Yet, for the past several months, every full moon had been plagued by continuous rain. Now, finally, the Mid-Autumn Festival arrived with a bright, shining moon—only for Jason Allen to suddenly appear! He alone absorbed all the moonlight within several miles, leaving not a drop behind. So, with the earth god’s seal already at its limit, it was only natural that the ghost broke free.
For this extremely ferocious ghost, the blood energy surging in that beautiful youth’s body was scorching and overwhelming, while Jason Allen was barely breathing, almost halfway between human and ghost. There was no doubt that the former was a delicious and nourishing blood meal, an immense temptation to the ghost, so it immediately launched an attack!
Frank Easton was performing a secret technique, fully extracting the most crucial “Fetal Light Soul” and “Central Soul” from Jason Allen’s three souls and seven spirits, while also suppressing his will to resist, requiring total concentration! Unexpectedly, after suffering such a brutal assault, he immediately let out a muffled groan, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth, and his spell was broken. He could no longer hold onto Jason Allen, who slipped to the ground like a torn sack.
The ghost succeeded in its strike, licked the fresh blood greedily, making “jiu jiu” sounds, and cried out in delight, then, using the cover of black mist, transformed into a gust of sinister wind and attacked again.
Its attack relied on the ever-growing fingernails on its ghost fetus, which were not only extremely sharp but also coated with a corrosive poison, making any subsequent injuries even more severe, and also capable of paralyzing the victim’s nerves, dulling their reactions.
Although ghostly shadows filled the air, the true body of this fierce ghost had already flashed behind Frank Easton, extending two pitch-black ghost claws to viciously grab at the back of his neck, while the latter seemed completely unaware!
However, Frank Easton, that beautiful youth, made no move at all. Just as the ghost claws were about to touch him again, the flowing white robe he wore suddenly glowed with a blazing light, swelling up like a balloon!
Even though the ghost’s claws were incredibly sharp—enough to pierce even a general’s armor—upon touching that white robe, it felt as if it had lost all control, and both claws were violently bounced away.
Immediately after, a beam of light as bright as the blazing sun shot out from Frank Easton’s body. The ghost let out a shrill scream, like a baby wailing, and its claws began to emit a greenish smoke as if burning, with a scorched stench rising from them.
