Chapter 1

Chapter 1 Prologue: Ten Suns Rise

Since the recorded history of the Origin Continent, there has always been only one sun hanging in the sky.

It rises on time every day and sets on time, nourishing all things on earth, unchanged for countless ages.

An ancient proverb thus formed: “There are not two suns in the sky, nor two masters among men!”

It was another morning. The warm sun rose as usual, just like every morning for billions of years on the Origin Continent. Farmers shouldered their hoes and led their oxen into the rice fields, beginning a day’s work.

Suddenly, from beneath the distant eastern ground, a burst of bright light exploded—sunrise repeated! An unprecedented, shocking scene appeared on the Origin Continent: another sun burst forth in a blaze of light, leaping above the horizon!

From south to north, east to west, billions of living beings on the Origin Continent stared in shock, looking up at the changing sky, their spirits struck by an incomparably powerful impact, dumbfounded by this unbelievable sight.

Suspended high above the nine heavens, within the deep blue sky, a second sun appeared! Two massive fireballs slowly rose, as if it had always been this way since time immemorial...

Before the beings of Origin could recover from their shock, another blinding radiance erupted from beneath the eastern ground! Sunrise, a third time!

The third sun rose slowly yet irresistibly... Not long after the two suns had risen, a third appeared in the sky... then a fourth... a fifth...

With each new sun, the people on the ground grew more astonished.

Very soon, astonishment turned to panic... the fifth... the sixth... the seventh... the eighth... the ninth... the tenth!

Ten suns rose into the sky!

Ten suns, spewing out dragon-like crimson flames stretching for billions of zhang!

There were actually ten suns in the sky above Origin!

Chapter 2 The Ancient Giant Stone Gate

“The path of martial cultivation is like sailing against the current. Even now, with ten suns in the sky and us forced to hide underground, we still cannot neglect our training. Although you are all members of the The Carter Family and have heard about the stages of martial cultivation since childhood, today! As your entry instructor, I still have the responsibility to tell you again: the first major realm of martial arts is called the Tonghai Realm, which we also call the Five Stages of Tonghai, divided into Qi Activation, Qi Spring, Qi Sea, Seeking Truth, and Tonghai Stage!”

“If any of you can reach the great perfection of the Tonghai Realm in the future, congratulations! Not only in the entire The Carter Family, but even among the three great families of Lanhai, you would be top elites. If you can break through the great perfection of the Tonghai Realm and enter the Six Locks Realm... even if you only unlock one lock... and draw upon the pulse of the earth, you would even be qualified to compete for the position of family head.”

“Six Locks of Martial Arts! Break the locks and transcend the ordinary!”

Underground, in a secret chamber that could hold a hundred people, more than a dozen children sat on the ground, their eyes wide and shining with a special light, listening intently to the family elder on the podium.

The elder on the podium looked with satisfaction at the dozen or so children—these were the future of the The Carter Family. Even now, with ten suns in the sky, he could not relax his guidance. I, Edward Carter, must teach them to become the most outstanding generation of the The Carter Family!

“Teacher, teacher! If all six locks are broken, what is the next realm?”

A child raised his hand seriously to ask. Edward Carter's brows furrowed, and his tone grew somber: “In martial cultivation, one must never be reckless! All six locks broken? How could it be so easy? The number one expert in our town, the old ancestor of the The Bennett Family, has only broken three locks... Six locks? Hmph...”

“Teacher, teacher! Big brother William Carter, isn’t it rumored that he broke all six locks and entered an even higher realm?”

The child asked earnestly, immediately causing a chorus of agreement from the others, all their eyes shining with admiration for the strong.

When Edward Carter heard the name William Carter, his face darkened, his brows locking with deep resentment: “Don’t mention that name! William Carter is not the glory of the The Carter Family! If he hadn’t shown off, he wouldn’t have been crippled, and we wouldn’t have lost three years of guidance and support from the royal family of our Carter Hall!”

The children below were frightened by Edward Carter’s harsh tone, looking at him with confusion and a bit of fear. They didn’t understand—just last year, everyone heard that the eldest son of the The Carter Family head, William Carter, was the pride of the family, representing the The Carter Family in paying respects to the royal family of the Carter Hall, and even competing in the martial demonstration of the Carter Hall royal family. How did he suddenly become the one who brought misfortune to the family?

“By the way, today’s demonstration officer should be Henry Carter. Where is Henry Carter?” Edward Carter stood on the podium, his face gloomy as he turned to his assistant: “Charles Carter! Why isn’t he here? Is he shirking his duties again just because he’s the clan leader’s second son?”
