A sudden explosion rang out, and Henry Carter felt the ground beneath his feet tremble slightly.
Immediately after... a long streak of light appeared in the void—a meteor! A massive meteor was plummeting from the sky!
Then... dozens, hundreds of meteors formed a meteor shower, crashing down from above with a deafening roar. Before they even touched the ground, still in midair, they exploded again, shattering into fragments of various sizes that continued to fall.
Among them, a small cluster of meteors happened to cover Carter Manor!
"Not good!"
Henry Carter realized he was enveloped by the meteor shower. Ignoring the cool, refreshing sensation on his back, he immediately pushed off with his feet and dashed toward the bunker.
Boom!
A meteor landed not far behind Henry Carter, kicking up a spray of dirt and making his calves sting.
So unlucky? Henry Carter frowned and was about to push off again when he suddenly sensed a huge shadow falling from the sky.
Not good! Retreat!
The thought flashed through Henry Carter's mind, but the massive shadow had already crashed down in front of him.
The tremendous impact and the earth's tremor were like ripples caused by a stone thrown into a lake. Henry Carter felt unsteady underfoot and raised his hand to shield himself from the dust, debris, and gusts stirred up by the giant object striking the ground.
The fragments and dust settled, the wind died down, but the dust still lingered in the air.
Henry Carter lowered his arm from his face and looked ahead... Amid the swirling dust, a blurry silhouette appeared—a gigantic door!
Henry Carter looked up, up, and up again! Only after the dust cleared could he finally see what this mysterious object from the sky truly was.
A door! It really was a door!
Henry Carter squinted against the harsh light, barely making out the towering object before him—a stone door! Standing right in front of him!
Henry Carter had seen many doors—big, small, oddly shaped—but never one so enormous! It seemed as if it could encompass the entire world!
The stone door was bluish-white, with no ornate carvings, only endless patterns like the marks left by time. A faint ancient aura slowly emanated from it, as if it had traversed the vastness of the universe and the depths of prehistory, carrying endless history, yearning to tell its story through its very being.
An ancient, mottled, simple yet mysterious stone door!
The meteors falling from the sky veered away before even touching it, as if repelled—no stone could land here.
Henry Carter blinked hard and instinctively reached out to touch the stone door, wanting to know what material it was made of. Was it really just a stone door? Falling from such a height, even a mountain would have been smashed to pieces, let alone a door.
Within the massive stone door, clouds churned, faintly revealing a gigantic city floating in the sky. The colossal city hovered amid the sea of clouds, radiating a strange magic that drew people in, making them want to enter.
Henry Carter's palm gently pressed against the surface of the stone door, and he immediately felt it tremble. A powerful suction force held his hand firmly against the door.
What is this? Henry Carter felt his hand stuck and hurriedly tried to pull it away, but at that moment, the stone door suddenly shrank rapidly—from blocking out the sky, to the size of a mountain, then to a courtyard, then to a normal door, and then... to the size of a palm, and then...
Henry Carter saw a blinding flash of light burst from his palm. The stone door, now palm-sized, darted into his body like a mouse.
Chapter 3: Devouring the Sun! Ten Suns Become One!
What just happened! Henry Carter stared blankly at the spot on his palm where the stone door had vanished, feeling it burrow up his arm into his chest, then flow with his breath down to his lower abdomen, where it finally stopped.
A stone door from who knows where had actually entered his body—a door so massive it reached the sky, now shrunk to this size in an instant...
Another muffled roll of thunder sounded in the sky. Henry Carter had no time to study the stone door that had entered his body or worry about any harm it might cause. He quickly sprinted toward the bunker, afraid that if he was even a step too slow, a falling meteor would smash him to death.
Henry Carter firmly believed that a person's luck was limited. This time, a door of such immense size had fallen and hadn't killed him—he was already incredibly lucky. Next time, even a fist-sized meteor could smash his head like a rotten watermelon.
The bunker entrance! Henry Carter saw the entrance to his family's bunker and sped up again. Suddenly, a colossal explosion sounded from the sky behind him, as if the entire sky was shattering.
The earth shook violently. Henry Carter instinctively turned to look at the sky and was instantly stunned by what he saw.
"Patriarch! Patriarch! Look! The ten suns in the sky are changing!"
Inside the bunker, the observer who was constantly monitoring the outside situation cried out in alarm.
