Chapter 2

Grace Bennett?

Investiture of the Gods?

Isn't that a Chinese mythological legend?

"Where is she? You said summon, so why is nothing happening?" Eric Carter asked anxiously, wondering if he had just imagined it.

"Grace Bennett will appear very soon. Reminder to the host: the summoned gods and demons are only simulations based on mythological data. They have no original memories. The system will implant a set of memories belonging to this world. Please, host, don't give yourself away!"

Eric Carter was half-convinced; until Grace Bennett appeared, he wouldn't fully believe it.

Myths are made up anyway—how could they be real?

But thinking of the memories of this body, his heart couldn't help but race. This world was just like a xianxia story, filled with demons, monsters, and ghosts everywhere.

Maybe the myth system really does exist!

"Then can I summon the Great Sage Equal to Heaven, Sun Wukong, the Heavenly Court's God of War Erlang Shen, and the Buddha himself?"

"You can!"

"What about the Three Pure Ones?"

"You can!"

"Holy crap! I'm going to dominate this world of gods and demons!"

Eric Carter was instantly fired up. If he could really summon those legendary figures, the Qianyue Kingdom would be under his rule in no time, maybe even the whole world!

"That depends on the host's luck. There are too many characters in mythology. Maybe you'll never summon the one you want, even in your lifetime!"

The system couldn't help but pour cold water on him, but Eric Carter didn't care at all. Come on, he had already hit the jackpot with the ultra-rare event of being chosen by the myth system—what more luck did he need?

He had to be ridiculously lucky!

Eric Carter was so excited that his whole body trembled, the iron chains on his hands and feet rattling with a ding-ding-ding sound.

Just then, the soldiers suddenly all stopped, and the prison cart halted as well, making Eric Carter look up in confusion.

The soldiers all drew their swords, each one on high alert.

These soldiers were imperial guards trained by the palace, all at the fifth level of the Qi Refining Realm. Any one of them could beat Eric Carter to a pulp, and their senses were far sharper than his.

This showed just how malicious the Fifth Prince Brian Carter's intentions were. With these guards escorting Eric Carter, he had no chance of escaping.

"Hehehe—"

At that moment, a bewitching, goosebump-inducing laugh rang out, full of seductive charm. Everyone present, including Eric Carter, felt their hearts flutter.

Next, a figure in white floated down like an immortal, dressed in snowy white robes, her skirt and sleeves fluttering in the wind. Her figure was perfectly wrapped, her curves outlined in a fiery silhouette. On her shoulders was a white fur stole, and beneath her willow-like black hair was an absolutely stunning face—delicate features, cherry lips slightly parted, making one long for her, and eyes shimmering with hidden allure, as if concealing endless charm.

A beauty who could topple kingdoms!

Su Grace Bennett!

Chapter 2: Two Levels Up in a Row

"You ants dare imprison my lord? Sending you to hell would be letting you off easy."

Grace Bennett looked at the imperial guards with a charming smile. Though she was smiling, her words sent chills down their spines.

Eric Carter stared at Grace Bennett, his eyes fixed—she was too beautiful, on a whole different level from the actresses he'd seen on TV in his previous life, as if she had stepped out of a painting.

"How dare you! Who are you to obstruct the kingdom's imperial guards?"

The captain of the guards said in a deep voice. Though they were all stunned by Grace Bennett's beauty, they were even more on guard.

The aura of strength radiating from Grace Bennett made their hearts pound with fear. Not even facing the kingdom's Grand General had made them feel this way.

Fifth level of the Transformation Realm!

Eric Carter had never heard of the Transformation Realm, since the strongest in the Qianyue Kingdom was only at the Mortal Shedding Realm.

In this body's memories, cultivation was divided into Qi Refining, Foundation Establishment, Golden Core, and Mortal Shedding, each with nine levels. The strongest in the Qianyue Kingdom was the Grand General Adam Blake, first level of the Mortal Shedding Realm, who had once split a hundred-meter mountain with a single slash. His legend was known throughout the kingdom and even intimidated neighboring kingdoms.

It was said that above the kingdom was the existence of an imperial dynasty. Though the structure was similar, the strength was worlds apart. Eric Carter had only heard some legends about the imperial dynasty, with no clear details.

But none of that mattered most!

What mattered was that Grace Bennett was actually stronger than the Grand General Adam Blake!

He was really going to be invincible!

Eric Carter thought excitedly, but at the same time, he worriedly asked, "System, is the Transformation Realm above the Mortal Shedding Realm?"

"Yes! The Transformation Realm is above the Mortal Shedding Realm!"

The system's answer made Eric Carter very satisfied, and he looked at Grace Bennett with even more burning eyes.

Just then, Grace Bennett suddenly waved her sleeve. The fifteen imperial guards felt an unstoppable, mysterious force rush at them, and in the next moment, they were all sent flying. The prison holding Eric Carter exploded, iron bars spinning off in all directions.

Freedom!

Eric Carter took a deep breath and forced himself to stand up, barely containing his excitement.

He had just crossed over and thought his new life would be miserable, but who would have thought that activating the myth system would get him out of trouble right away.

The ups and downs of life were just like this.

"My lord, are you alright?"

Grace Bennett appeared before Eric Carter like a phantom, a faint fragrance drifting into Eric Carter's nose, making his heart race.

Clang!

Grace Bennett directly snapped the shackles binding Eric Carter's hands, then twisted off the ones on his feet as well.

"I'm fine," Eric Carter said, trying hard to calm himself.
