It was not because of love, but simply because they were of the same kind that they had physical relations. But to be honest, this was not what troubled William Carter. Although they had spent less than a day together, William Carter could feel that she truly cared for him, and since she treated him well, he would naturally treat her sincerely in return. Now that they had become intimate, he would do his best to make her fall in love with him. In matters like these, William Carter was never a complicated person. What, after all, is the difference between absolute sincerity and love? If William Carter had to choose, he might even prefer the former. What troubled him was that the two of them simply could not communicate.
They hugged, kissed, had sex, and then he resolved to take responsibility. This was almost the most important thing in his life, yet before this, the two of them had not been able to communicate, nor had they even had any simple exchange. This realization left him feeling rather frustrated.
However, his worries did not affect the girl. When the two of them, naked and embracing, sat up, the girl simply frowned at the bloodstains between her legs and gently wiped them away with her hand.
The blood left from losing her virginity last night had long since dried, and there was quite a bit on William Carter's body as well, which could not be wiped off by hand. The girl glanced at William Carter, then suddenly smiled, stood up, and pulled his hand to lead him out of the cave.
Outside the cave, the sun shone warmly on the gently undulating grassland. The girl, now dressed in her leafy clothes, led William Carter across the grass and into the forest, with the giant wolf following slowly behind. Sunlight streamed through the gaps in the leaves, casting beautiful beams of light, and all around were plants that William Carter did not recognize. The silver-haired girl ran and jumped lightly at his side, occasionally reaching her hand through the beams of light as if trying to catch the beautiful rays. Her bell-like laughter rang out from her lips from time to time, and as William Carter watched her, he felt his gaze was always drawn to her beauty. At this moment, she seemed as pure and enchanting as a fairy of the forest.
After passing through a dense patch of woods, they came to a stream. The water was crystal clear, and the banks were covered with pebbles, indicating that during the flood season the stream must be much wider. The trees on both sides swayed in the sunlight, and a few small animals that had been drinking at the stream hopped away into the woods at the sight of people, making the scenery picturesque.
The silver-haired girl picked a few broad leaves from a nearby tree, then, without any shyness, took off her clothes in front of William Carter, washed the leaves in the water, and called out “ah ah” to William Carter a few times before starting to wash herself. When William Carter picked up one of the leaves, he realized it was soft and spongy, just like a towel. The stream water was still cold, and as he wiped himself down, he couldn't help but shiver, but although he looked delicate, he was actually quite hardy. He had often showered with cold water alone at home before, so after a while, he got used to the temperature.
Even though they had already been as intimate as possible, William Carter still felt a bit embarrassed to be naked in front of her, and as he looked at the girl's perfect body, he couldn't help but have a physical reaction again. The girl, however, seemed completely unaware, and of course William Carter couldn't just “take her on the spot” here. The giant wolf behind them was drinking from the stream, watching the surroundings warily. William Carter thought that this stream was probably the common water source for the local creatures. Since they could come here, perhaps even fiercer animals might appear, which made him a bit uneasy.
After washing up, the two of them and the wolf returned the way they had come. Along the way, the silver-haired girl climbed up and down, picking a lot of fruit, showing no sign of being inconvenienced after losing her virginity, but she still wouldn't let William Carter wander off. William Carter guessed there were probably other fierce animals nearby, and they were afraid he might run into danger, so he just followed the girl and helped pick up some fruit to take back.
In the days that followed, the two of them lived in the cave as if on a honeymoon. William Carter wove himself a few thick pieces of clothing from leaves and was no longer afraid of the cold, though once he put them on, he was covered in leaves from head to toe and looked like a tree-man, which was quite comical. The girl brought back all sorts of rare fruits every day, doing her utmost to please William Carter. Once, she even brought back a wild beehive, but ended up in a sorry state, covered in swollen stings, which made William Carter feel very sorry for her. The honey was very sweet, but the girl wouldn't eat it—she deliberately avoided anything that William Carter liked to eat. As a result, William Carter made all sorts of angry faces, and after a long fuss, finally forced her to start drinking the wild honey. But then she wouldn't stop, and kept drinking until William Carter noticed something was wrong and told her to stop, at which point she stopped with a pained expression.
"I'm sorry, I'm sorry..." William Carter hugged her tightly, gently stroking her back and apologizing over and over. "...I didn't mean to force you, I just wanted you to have something tasty... I'm sorry..."
The girl's feelings were as pure as an animal's. Now that she had chosen William Carter, she saw him as her only god, thinking only of treating him well and never disobeying a single word. If William Carter forced her to jump off a cliff, she would probably do so without hesitation—of course, she had already done that before.
Thinking of this, William Carter's eyes grew moist, and as he held the girl's petite body in his arms, he felt a deep, heartfelt emotion.
But at least she understood his expressions. He thought. This was the beginning of communication.
