Chapter 1

Chapter 1: Transmigrated

This is a world that judges by appearance. If you’re ugly and have no money, you don’t even have the right to reproduce.

And if you’re especially ugly, even money won’t get you a girl.

And Chad Sullivan was a man so ugly he didn’t even have the right to reproduce!

……

Of course, Chad Sullivan wasn’t born ugly!

He used to be incredibly, incredibly handsome, and was studying at the best medical university in the country. Ever since elementary school, girls had secret crushes on him and pursued him fervently.

But then, in his freshman year, a terrible accident happened.

A bottle exploded during an experiment, spraying concentrated sulfuric acid all over his face and half his chest.

His once stunningly handsome face was destroyed. He went from angel to demon, so ugly that people couldn’t bear to look at him a second time—uglier even than Quasimodo from “The Hunchback of Notre-Dame.” It was a face that could give people nightmares.

Chad Sullivan went from being loved by all to being feared by all. Almost no girl dared let her gaze linger on his face for more than two seconds.

And so, he lost his mating rights!

……

Having lost his handsome looks, Chad Sullivan chose to become a noble soul.

After graduating with his master’s, he didn’t pursue a PhD or stay at the university hospital. Instead, he went to the most remote and difficult border regions.

He spent ten years supporting the frontier, saving countless lives and earning countless honors, but still, no woman liked him.

He felt he hadn’t done enough, that he wasn’t shining brightly enough.

So, he decided to become even nobler—so noble that people would forget his hideous face. He chose to go somewhere even more dangerous and difficult: Africa, to war-torn countries, spending every day in tent hospitals without even an operating room.

He stayed in a certain war-torn African country for a full ten years.

He earned even more honors, this time from the United Nations. Every day, he treated the sick and saved lives, performing surgeries nonstop.

He became famous at home and abroad, a banner-like figure, synonymous with struggle, sacrifice, and dedication.

His ugly face appeared in many newspapers and magazines. Many women admired him, but still, not a single woman liked him. In his forties, he was still all alone.

When his parents passed away, he became even lonelier.

He still worked over a dozen hours a day. Saving lives had become a habit.

……

At this moment, Chad Sullivan had been performing surgeries for 27 hours straight, like a robot.

It had been over twenty years.

Every day, he saved lives, gave his all, and hardly ever rested, like an iron man.

The number of surgeries he’d performed and people he’d saved over these twenty years was countless.

But the truth was, being noble alone wasn’t enough to win a woman’s favor. Even the heroine in “The Hunchback of Notre-Dame” merely didn’t mind Quasimodo and was willing to let him watch her from the sidelines.

Chad Sullivan meticulously performed a leg amputation and suture for a refugee, not the slightest bit careless or sloppy, even though he was utterly exhausted.

“Whoosh…”

A whistling sound approached, accompanied by a trembling in the air.

Chad Sullivan knew clearly it was the sound of a bomb, flying right toward him, but he felt no fear or urge to dodge. Instead, he felt a wave of relief and release inside.

Because he was just too tired and lonely in this life.

“So tired… but dying without ever having slept with a woman is a bit of a regret!”

“If I could live again, I swear I’d live the most comfortable, leisurely life—clothes handed to me, food brought to my mouth, never working so hard again.”

“If heaven would give me back a handsome face, I swear I’d use it to charm the most beautiful women!”

Chad Sullivan swore a solemn oath in his heart.

“Boom!”

The bomb landed on the temporary hospital and exploded right next to Chad Sullivan.

In an instant, his body was blown to pieces, along with the nearby X-ray machine and laptop, all blasted to bits.

Then, as if a vortex of light and shadow appeared in the air, everything was sucked in.

……

Chapter 2: I Am the Handsome Son-in-Law

Where is this? Wasn’t I just blown to pieces?

When Chad Sullivan opened his eyes again, he found himself in a completely unfamiliar environment.

He was lying on a soft, intricately carved bed, surrounded by opulence and splendor.

A finely crafted rosewood table, exquisite silver candlesticks, a soft wool carpet—every detail showed this was a home of great wealth.

Most importantly, everything in this room was antique in style, with not a trace of modern Earth’s home decor.
