Apocalypse: Blind Monk, you #¥%¥……!!
Caitlyn: This Blind Monk's playstyle is pretty good, feels like we've got a pro on our team this game!
Twisted Fate: Blind Monk daddy, carry me to victory!
Ethan Carter rubbed his nose. So this world's League of Legends has trash talkers too, huh? Also, this world's League of Legends is kind of low-level! But I guess that's normal—after all, this is just a Bronze 5 placement match, anything can happen.
Ethan Carter: Love you, Doomsday baby!
Apocalypse: Blind Monk, you ¥%&**!!
Ethan Carter pinged bot lane to signal he was on his way, and the ADC Caitlyn also pinged the enemy ADC Lucian to show she understood.
Braum: No wards in river.
After clearing Doomsday's wolves, Ethan Carter kept his attention on bot lane. The enemy Lucian's mechanics were clearly much smoother than their own Caitlyn's. In mid, LeBlanc would have to really rack her brains to make something happen, so it was better to help bot open up the game. Caitlyn already had long range—if she got ahead in gold and levels, as long as she didn't get hooked by Thresh, the enemy would have a hard time playing.
The enemy Lucian, seeing Caitlyn playing a bit scared, started spamming abilities to poke, and even managed to dodge Braum's Q, Winter's Bite! Ethan Carter waited patiently in the river brush—now! Lucian used his E, Relentless Pursuit, to dash past the minion wave and hit Caitlyn with two autos and a Q, proccing Thunderlord's Decree for a big chunk of damage. Caitlyn's HP instantly dropped to three-fifths. Ethan Carter seized the moment as Lucian dashed past the minions, using Safeguard on a melee minion to get right next to Lucian, slamming the ground with his palm, then using the second part of E to slow! Auto attack! He even sidestepped slightly to dodge Thresh's E, Flay—a small detail that made Thresh's heart skip a beat, and he quickly pinged Lucian to retreat.
Their own Braum immediately jumped to Blind Monk and landed an auto, proccing his passive. Lucian would be stunned after three more autos! Their Caitlyn wasn't dumb either, following up with a Q, Piltover Peacemaker.
Lucian panicked—he was already Exhausted, and if he didn't run, he'd die. He instantly burned Flash. But Ethan Carter wasn't about to let him get away—his Q was still ready!
Ethan Carter took two steps to the left—Sonic Wave! A perfect kick right between two minions, hitting Lucian!
Lucian shouted, "WTF, what is this?!" Watching as Blind Monk followed up with Resonating Strike.
Thresh was suddenly grateful his W, Lantern, was still on cooldown—he'd used it earlier to help Lucian trade before Blind Monk arrived, and the cooldown was a full 22 seconds. Now, it had just come back up!
Dark Passage! Lucian laughed wildly, "No matter how good you are, you still have to eat sh—... WTF WTF WTF, what is this?!"
Right in the center of the lantern, there was a ward—Ethan Carter's trinket had just come off cooldown! With that ward, Lucian couldn't click the lantern to escape, and instead pulled out his gun and started shooting at the trinket, biubiubiu.
Second blood! Ethan Carter suddenly felt a warm current surge through his body in front of the computer—very comfortable, though he didn't know why. He noticed a line of yellow system text on his attribute panel: Due to player "What are you looking at" advancing League of Legends skill value, you are awarded 0.3 Strength growth, 30 Victory Points. This highlight moment will be made available to all players. Player "What are you looking at" has made a great contribution—Hero Star.
His attribute panel now read:
Ethan Carter Human / Normal human standard parameters: 3
Agility 2 (Agility growth 1.3)
Strength 2 (Strength growth 1.0 → 1.3)
Intelligence 5 (Intelligence growth 2.1)
Player has not yet been ranked. After placement, rank starts at Bronze 5, each rank is 1 level.
Ethan Carter raised an eyebrow. Is this for real? I haven't even used my Dragon's Rage or Flash R yet. Am I about to ascend!?
Chapter 2: The Blind Monk's Secret Art
Ethan Carter had no idea that when he successfully advanced this world's League of Legends skill value, this match had already quietly made it to the front page of the live stream. In this world, League of Legends places immense importance on every skill, because that's the foundation of their fight against demons.
Everyone can obtain the skills and materialized equipment they desire from the League of Legends system, but how to use these skills well, and what subtle tricks they contain—not everyone understands. So whenever a new skill or technique appears, the match is immediately put on the platform's front page for live broadcast.
Ethan Carter knew nothing of this, still sitting at his computer, occasionally killing Doomsday in the jungle with his Blind Monk. Only 10 minutes in, and Doomsday had already died four times. At first, after his Flash came back up, he thought he wouldn't die again, but soon realized that against Ethan Carter's Blind Monk, having Flash or not made no difference—his mentality was shattered. Ethan Carter was basically sweeping the entire jungle, and his gold was off the charts.
Ethan Carter: Top, watch for teleport. Bot, get ready to fight for dragon.
Darius: 1
Replying with 1 meant "got it." Taking the first dragon at 11 minutes—not too early, not too late. Depends on how you look at it; its early-game value isn't especially high.
