Fortunately, this waterfall flood dragon bore no great malice toward Ryan Carter; instead, it gently placed Ryan Carter on a large rock by the pool.
Lying on his back atop the boulder, he gazed at the cascading waterfall, and at the flood dragon standing upright like a towering pavilion.
The powerful curtain of water crashed down upon the flood dragon’s body, sending waves splashing everywhere, yet the dragon itself remained utterly motionless. It was clear that the flood dragon beneath this waterfall was a true Sichuan dragon!
“Your body, hair, and skin are gifts from your parents—how could you seek to end your own life?” a gentle and melodious voice rang out.
What a huge misunderstanding.
If you wanted to end your life, wouldn’t it be easier to find a rope in the woods? Why come to the waterfall for such a dramatic end?
Ryan Carter looked over and saw a graceful woman standing atop the flood dragon’s head.
Her long hair danced in the wind, her brows were exquisitely shaped, and she was as beautiful as a fairy from a painting, or like the legendary dragon maiden, exuding a unique spiritual aura!
“Ahem, ahem…” Ryan Carter spat out the water he had choked on and explained innocently, “I wasn’t trying to end my life, it was an accident.”
The ethereal beauty beneath the waterfall floated down from the dragon’s head and stood beside the soaking wet Ryan Carter.
Meanwhile, the flood dragon, whose neck and head had been following the woman, suddenly seemed to sense something. It rose up and, with perfect precision, bit down on something else that had also fallen from the top of the waterfall.
The dragon had caught a pitch-black creature in its jaws—what it was, he couldn’t tell, but it was over a meter long…
The flood dragon also placed this black creature on the large rock by the waterfall.
The beautiful dragon maiden glanced at the black crocodile spirit and asked, “Is this your young spirit beast?”
Ryan Carter looked over and saw it was a black crocodile over a meter long, with a single horn on its head. Just as he was about to shake his head, he suddenly sensed a faint ripple of soul energy…
It really was Little Blake!
He hadn’t seen it for just a short while, and Little Cole had changed dramatically!!
Its once soft black skin had become tougher and more armor-like, its hind legs had grown thicker and sturdier, and its forelimbs had turned into claws that looked rather sharp.
Most striking of all was the broad black forehead, from which a horn had sprouted!!
It was exactly where he had once felt a hidden bump—the horn had now fully grown out!
His judgment had been right: crocodiles don’t have horns.
Clearly, this was a dragon bud waiting to bloom!!
“Little Blake, you’ve advanced!!!”
Ryan Carter had never expected something like this to happen.
“Wuuooohhh~~~~~~~~~~~”
The now one-meter-long Little Drake saw Ryan Carter and immediately pounced, its big tongue licking Ryan Carter’s cheeks nonstop, so excited it nearly pushed Ryan Carter back into the pool.
Apparently, Little Finn itself hadn’t realized the change. On the shore, it had only wanted to save Ryan Carter, and when it saw Ryan Carter swept under the waterfall, it jumped in after him.
“All right, all right, I’m fine, I’m fine. But even if you’re stronger now, you can’t just jump in after me like that—you could still get smashed to pieces.” Ryan Carter cupped the ugly-cute big head of the creature in both hands.
“You say that as if you yourself wouldn’t get smashed to pieces. Did you jump in to save your young spirit beast?” the dragon maiden asked.
Chapter 13: The Ration Problem
The woman noticed that Little Finn still bore traces of recently shedding its skin and bones. As a dragon herder, she naturally understood that this pitch-black Little Finn had just completed an evolution, taking a big step closer to becoming a true dragon!
“Frankly, I’m ashamed—I let my guard down and it got swept into the waterfall’s whirlpool,” Ryan Carter explained.
“Train it well. This will be a fine young dragon, and it should have already found the path to the Dragon Gate. If there’s nothing else, don’t delay my cultivation here,” the dragon maiden said.
“Thank you, senior sister, for saving me.” Ryan Carter maintained proper etiquette, then led his Little Finn toward the shore.
The pool was vast and the current strong, but Little Finn was now completely different from before. It could even carry Ryan Carter as it swam to the bank, making things much easier for the already exhausted Ryan Carter.
Finally back on shore, Ryan Carter looked at Little Finn circling around his legs.
After what had just happened, this Little Cole seemed much closer to him. Ryan Carter couldn’t help but smile and said, “If you run into those little wolf spirits that bullied you in the Dragon Storage Hall again, you should be able to beat them to a pulp now.”
Little Finn didn’t respond. Its big eyes were fixed on the vast, majestic waterfall, which hung like a giant silver curtain.
A slender blue figure was climbing up against the torrent of tens of thousands of tons of water, ascending the waterfall!
At last, it leapt from the very top, sending up a magnificent spray and soaring through the air!
The might of the flood dragon was on full display in that moment!
“Your ambition isn’t just to defeat those little wolf spirits… Mm, mm, one day, you’ll be able to wrestle with that flood dragon too,” Ryan Carter said.
That’s what he said, but the road ahead was long—they couldn’t even withstand the whirlpools atop the waterfall yet.
Still, this incident gave Ryan Carter a good idea for training: let Little Finn challenge the rapids, whirlpools, and waterfall more often. On one hand, the river’s immense resistance would quickly strengthen Little Finn’s body; on the other, it would temper its spirit!
