“The Daming Mountain Range is vast and boundless, one of the largest mountain ranges in Dayan, stretching across six provinces from east to west, its length truly immeasurable! It’s said that deep within, countless giant monsters and spirits dwell, and legends speak of a divine dragon residing at its very center! It’s unbelievably huge!” Grace Grant exclaimed in awe, and the group of guards looked astonished.
“Let’s go, the nearest Red Maple Mountain is still more than ten li from The Grant Estate!” Logan Grant walked ahead with his blade, the snow covering his feet. “Within several hundred li, nearly a hundred villages’ hunting teams sweep through every year, so there are basically no large beasts left!” Logan Grant explained.
Everyone in Logan Grant’s group was a martial artist, their stamina far beyond that of ordinary people, and they covered half the snow-covered mountain road of several dozen li in a short time.
“Logan Grant, you’re only ten years old and your martial cultivation has already surpassed mine!” Grace Grant seemed a bit bored and actually took the initiative to speak. “Have you ever tested your innate constitution?”
“Innate constitution? What’s that?” Logan Grant stopped and asked.
Logan Grant was immediately interested. After all, he had only been in this world for ten years, had no chance to interact with the outside world, and there were only a few introductory books in the hall, so he didn’t know much about many things.
“It’s not strange that you don’t know, after all, talent stones are very rare.” Grace Grant explained, “Everyone’s innate constitution is different. After a martial artist establishes their foundation, their internal organs transform, inner strength evolves into true qi, and only then does the innate constitution manifest. Before that, only a talent stone can detect a person’s innate constitution.”
“To refine oneself and accept the mandate of heaven! Only after establishing your foundation can you activate your own constitution, and some constitutions are incredibly powerful!” Grace Grant suddenly felt a desire to teach and continued, “It’s said that on the Vast Continent, there are ten great Sacred Bodies and dozens of Divine Bodies. Anyone who can activate one becomes a peerless powerhouse, able to dominate a nation single-handedly—truly terrifying!”
“And innate divine abilities are said to be a kind of divine power bestowed by the heavens, one in ten thousand, possessing all sorts of incredible powers!”
Chapter 0011: Silver Wolf King!
As Grace Grant spoke, a look of unwillingness and longing appeared on her delicate face.
“Unfortunately, I’m just an ordinary Wind Spirit Body, with a seventh-grade Bluebird as my talent, able to command bird-type demon beasts. I came into the mountains this time to gather herbs to hatch a Golden-Eyed Eagle!” Grace Grant sighed softly, feeling a bit down. Innate divine abilities are divided into nine grades, with first grade being the highest; seventh grade is just a lower-grade divine ability.
Logan Grant fell silent, digesting the information he’d just heard. “Innate divine ability? Sacred Body? Divine Body? Spirit Body? I wonder what kind of constitution I have.”
“This time, the main goal is to find a ‘Qilin Feather Flower’, a kind of translucent dark red spiritual herb shaped like a palm, which mostly grows by geothermal hot springs. Have you ever seen one?” Grace Grant asked. Logan Grant thought it over several times and suddenly remembered a place.
“Silver Wolf Valley! That place is dotted with dozens of hot springs, big and small, so maybe the herb is there. But there are thousands of wolves, and even the demon beast ‘Silver Wolf King’! If we go in to gather herbs, we might never come back.” Logan Grant hesitated a few times but still spoke up.
Silver Wolf Valley was a forbidden area outside the Daming Mountains. No village hunting team dared to enter—any who did would surely die!
“Miss, we should inform Old Mr. Grant!” a guard stepped forward to advise. Grace Grant hesitated, then finally ordered, “Search the surrounding area first. If we can’t find it, then we’ll decide what to do!”
Entering the forest, they saw unknown beast tracks in the snow. The guards surrounded Grace Grant and the other in the center, and the atmosphere grew tense. Logan Grant gripped his blade, eyes scanning back and forth. Even though the nearby forests were swept by hunting teams every year, there was still a chance wild beasts might wander over. Even with Logan Grant’s survival experience from Teng Qingshan, he didn’t dare let his guard down.
“Other than Silver Wolf Valley, I only know there’s a hot spring ahead. After all, I don’t have the ability to go deep into the forest!” Logan Grant said softly, his warm breath brushing past Grace Grant’s ear, making her cheeks flush. “Let’s go take a look!”
Logan Grant nodded, stepped out from the guards’ protection, and drew his blade to lead the way.
After a moment, a steaming hot spring in the snowy ground appeared before them. The spring was about three zhang in diameter, its mouth covered in snow, but the water inside bubbled and churned. No one looked happy; Grace Grant was deeply disappointed.
“We couldn’t find the Qilin Feather Flower at this hot spring. I’m afraid we’ll have to go to Silver Wolf Valley.” Grace Grant gritted her teeth.
“Splash!”
Suddenly, there was a rustling in the woods.
Everyone drew their blades, and Logan Grant gripped his weapon, looking toward the source of the sound.
“Who’s there?”
Grace Grant called out, her figure tensing, as a figure in red scale armor emerged from the forest.
“Miss, Old Mr. Grant is worried about your safety and sent me to protect you!” Brian Harris approached.
“Brian Harris, you’re just in time.” A smile appeared on Grace Grant’s face.
“Old Mr. Grant heard Master Grant mention Silver Wolf Valley and was afraid you might recklessly go in, so he sent me to bring you back.” Brian Harris said.
“Aren’t you going with me?” Grace Grant frowned.
“No, Old Mr. Grant told me to take you back immediately! There are over a thousand wolves, plus demon beasts mixed in—even I’m not sure I could get out alive.” Brian Harris explained.
Just as Grace Grant was about to speak, Brian Harris suddenly stepped forward and drew his blade!
