Chapter 5

The master lifted the hood of his trench coat, revealing an aged yet lean and clear-cut face. The old man gazed at the peacefully sleeping Gaia in the sleeping bag, a gentle and kindly light shining in his eyes.

After watching for a moment, he casually reached out and grabbed at the air. An ancient-looking, simply patterned box appeared out of thin air—this display of spatial magic would be enough to make all the titled archmages of the Abyss of Magic feel ashamed.

There were three magical locks on the box, each needing to be opened in turn before the box could be unlocked.

The old man flicked a finger, injecting a stream of magical power into one of the prisms.

With a “zzzt” sound, a beam of light shot out from the magic crystal prism, striking another prism and continuing to refract. Soon, a three-dimensional magic array was formed among the twelve prisms. Within the magical glow, Gaia’s sleeping bag and clothes were automatically disassembled, yet he remained completely unaware.

With a wave of the old man’s hand, a conical flask flew out from the box, filled with fiery red fine sand.

“The curse of the gods!” As the old man chanted, the fiery red sand floated and gathered in the air, condensing into a strange talisman. Once the talisman was formed, it burst into flames with a roar.

The old man loosened his fingers, and the flaming talisman fell into the magic array. In an instant, the flames filled the entire array, and Gaia’s small body was immediately engulfed.

With another gesture, the old man summoned yet another conical flask from the box. This time, it contained a skull made of green gas!

“The blessing of demons!” the old man chanted, releasing the gaseous skull. As soon as it left the bottle, the flaming skull rapidly expanded, instantly filling the entire cave. The old man twirled his finger, pointing at the magic array. The flaming skull transformed into a streak of green light, shooting into the array with a whoosh.

The flames in the magic array, which had been gradually subsiding, condensed into a semi-transparent medium, filling the three-dimensional array like liquid glass. But as the green light shot in, the mysterious medium in the array immediately began to boil, bubbling and churning like volcanic magma.

Chapter 002: The Infinite Devouring Body

For the third time, the old man beckoned, and this time a green apple flew out of the conical flask. The apple was covered with all kinds of human faces, of every imaginable race—some of which had never even appeared in the Abyss of Magic.

“And the envy of the masses!”

The green apple fell into the boiling medium, suddenly neutralizing it. The medium rippled with strange waves, then calmed down. The three-dimensional magic array was like a great cauldron, containing a pot of platinum-glowing liquid. Gaia’s small body floated up and down within the medium.

The old man spread his arms, the wide sleeves of his trench coat hanging down, revealing withered arms. Veins bulged like the roots of an old tree, faint blue light glowing within them. His arms trembled slightly, as if he were using all his strength to lift an invisible weight:

“Ancient inheritance from the Nirvana Divine Realm, traversing the shallow dignity of the younger god race, let the supreme power show your most humble miracle to your devout follower, so that you may prove your omnipotence!”

As he chanted, his withered body beneath the trench coat suddenly radiated a blinding light. The light enveloped the three-dimensional magic array, winding around it like threads of silver. As the light intensified, the medium within the array diminished, merging with the light and wrapping around Gaia, forming a semi-transparent crystal cocoon.

“Cough…” The old man coughed, his steps unsteady. Outside, Victor couldn’t help but call out with concern, “Master!” The old man waved him off, then, with some effort, pushed at the air. The last nine quartz syringes with golden bands flew out of the box. Fine ancient magical arrays were engraved on the syringes, which were filled with silvery liquid.

The old man raised his hands, and the nine syringes pierced the crystal cocoon, stabbing into Gaia’s head, shoulders, kidneys, legs, and feet. The silvery liquid slowly injected, quickly spreading throughout Gaia’s body, making it transparent—every vein turning silver…

Gaia opened his eyes. In this life—or even counting his previous life—he had never slept so soundly. Upon waking, it felt as if the whole world had become brighter.

In front of him stood an old man, who truly looked exhausted, his eyebrows and beard soaked with sweat. He looked at Gaia with a gentle smile. Strangely, Gaia felt no hostility toward him at all.

“What did you do to me?” Gaia asked.

“I was waiting for you to wake up, just to tell you that I have transformed you into an Infinite Devouring Body. There are some things you need to know,” the old man said, while Victor stood respectfully behind him.

“Infinite Devouring Body? That sounds impressive. What are the benefits?” Gaia asked, trying his best to act like a curious fourteen-year-old boy.
