Chapter 10

“Let’s rest here for half a day, then continue walking.” After a whole night, Jack Dawson was already exhausted.

“Big Dawson, thank you. If you hadn’t saved me, I definitely would have died in the Wangchuan Mountains.” Emily Young had rested on Jack Dawson’s back all night and could now barely stand up.

Jack Dawson smiled, “I happened to have studied some medicine and have seen the antidote method for this kind of snake venom.”

“Big Dawson, did you graduate from medical school?” Sarah Foster looked at Jack Dawson with some anticipation as she asked. She and Emily Young were both from medical school, but when faced with that kind of snake venom, both were helpless. Jack Dawson’s treatment of Emily Young’s snakebite seemed almost simple.

Chapter 8: Wangchuan Temple

Jack Dawson’s memories of his previous life were incomplete, but he felt that in this life on Earth, he hadn’t attended university. Hearing Sarah Foster’s question, he hesitated before saying, “I learned from a herbalist named Tyler Grant, never went to medical school.”

Tyler Grant was actually the top physician in Jiguo, but at this moment, Jack Dawson described him as just a herbalist.

“Xiao Mu…” An excited and surprised voice came, followed by a middle-aged man leading four or five firefighters in camouflage uniforms.

From the dew on their bodies and their tired expressions, it was clear they had been searching outside all night.

“Dad.” Emily Young tried to run over in excitement, but as soon as she took a step, she fell to the ground.

The middle-aged man hurried over to help Emily Young up. Jack Dawson felt relieved; although he could see the buildings of Wangchuan Temple, the distance was definitely not close. Now that someone had found them, at least he didn’t have to carry Emily Young any further.

“Dad, it was Jack Dawson who saved me and carried me all the way here.” The first thing Emily Young thought of was to mention her rescuer, Jack Dawson.

The middle-aged man clearly loved his daughter dearly. He immediately came up to Jack Dawson, grasped his hands, and said repeatedly, “Thank you, thank you, thank you for saving my daughter.”

From his emotional expression, Jack Dawson could tell his gratitude was genuine.

“Dad, Big Dawson also knows medicine. I was bitten by a venomous snake, and it was Big Dawson who saved me.” Emily Young added from the side.

Hearing his daughter’s words, the man was even more delighted. “My name is James Young, I’m the director of Aibo Hospital in Linchuan City. Classmate Dawson, if you’d like to work at a hospital, you can come to mine.”

As he spoke, James Young took out a business card, wrote a few words on it, and handed it to Jack Dawson. “Classmate Dawson, you can use this card to start working at Aibo Hospital anytime.”

He didn’t specify what job Jack Dawson would do; there were plenty of positions at Aibo Hospital, and arranging one for Jack Dawson was no problem. If Jack Dawson could detoxify under such conditions, his medical skills must be decent.

“Thank you, Dean Young.” Jack Dawson accepted the business card without hesitation. Having just arrived here, if he couldn’t find a place in the future, such a job would be good.

With someone leading the way, Jack Dawson naturally didn’t rest any longer. The group walked along the mountain path for most of the day, and by evening, they finally reached a road circling the mountain.

Along the way, James Young asked Jack Dawson many questions, but Jack Dawson’s answers were all vague. As for saving Emily Young, Jack Dawson only said he happened to know the antidote for that kind of snake.

James Young didn’t know that Jack Dawson wasn’t very clear about his own past and thought he just didn’t want to talk much, so he didn’t press further.

A minibus had long been waiting by the roadside. After getting on, Jack Dawson immediately fell asleep. The minibus bumped along the mountain roads, twisting and turning for over eight hours before finally stopping outside a temple.

As soon as the bus stopped, Jack Dawson woke up, but Sarah Foster and Emily Young were still asleep.

James Young, worried about his daughter’s health, suggested that Jack Dawson come to Linchuan with them. After Jack Dawson declined, he didn’t insist. They rested briefly outside the temple, then restarted the minibus and headed for Linchuan City.

……

After James Young and the others left, Jack Dawson left the parking lot and stood before a massive temple gate. Three large golden characters were engraved outside the temple: Wangchuan Temple.

In the early hours, there wasn’t a single person around. The three golden characters of Wangchuan Temple glowed with an indescribable mysterious aura under the moonlight.

Jack Dawson sat down to rest in front of a stone statue outside the temple, and in just a short while, he fell asleep again.

He didn’t know how much time had passed when a burst of noise woke him. Jack Dawson opened his eyes to find the place already bustling with people.

Wangchuan Temple seemed to be deep in the Wangchuan Mountains, but its popularity was truly impressive. Groups of tourists or believers came to burn incense. Some kind-hearted tourists, seeing Jack Dawson with messy hair, shabby clothes, and a cloth bag on his back, even gave him some bread and water.

“Mark Dawson…” An astonished voice interrupted Jack Dawson as he was eating. Looking up, Jack Dawson saw a young girl in a fitted dress, carrying a cartoon backpack, staring at him in disbelief.

Behind the girl stood a boy who seemed even younger. He carried a large travel bag and wore a black tracksuit.
