Chapter 17

As long as you're not an idiot, you'll sign. After signing, you can get a million; if you don't sign, you won't get a single cent. The money is a small matter—if you don't sign, what's even more serious is yet to come.

Jack Dawson had no idea what his previous life's identity was on Earth, but he had absolutely no intention of signing this thing.

He casually tossed the agreement in his hand to the middle-aged woman. "Get out. If you don't leave now, I'll call the police."

"You..." The middle-aged woman clearly hadn't expected Jack Dawson to react this way. Her face turned pale with anger, then she let out a cold laugh. "Fine. Very well."

After saying this, she picked up the agreement from the floor and turned to leave.

Once the middle-aged woman had left, Jack Dawson calmly looked at another woman waiting not far away. In fact, this woman had come in right after the middle-aged woman, but when the middle-aged woman asked Jack Dawson to sign, she had remained silent, just standing aside and waiting.

Compared to the middle-aged woman, this woman's clothing was much simpler.

Seeing Jack Dawson look over, the woman quickly said, "Young Master Dawson, Miss Grace sent me. If you can, would you be willing to go see Miss Grace?"

"Just say what you want to say." Jack Dawson's tone was a bit unfriendly. This place didn't seem like a good one, and it seemed his previous self, Mark Dawson, had been involved in quite a few things.

"Miss Grace is in the hospital. She has a few words she wants to say to you." The woman's tone was very respectful, as if Jack Dawson really was a young master.

Grace Sullivan is hospitalized? Although he didn't know why Grace Sullivan was in the hospital, Jack Dawson still said, "Alright, let's go together then."

He and Grace Sullivan were divorced. Whether or not it was his previous self who kicked Grace Sullivan out, he didn't really have any bad feelings toward her.

Chapter 13: Why Marry You

Luokang Hospital wasn't far from where Jack Dawson lived. After just over ten minutes, the car stopped.

Grace Sullivan's hospital room was a top-level VIP suite. As soon as Jack Dawson entered, he saw Grace Sullivan leaning against the hospital bed.

Grace Sullivan was holding a book, seemingly lost in thought.

The sound of the door opening by the woman who brought Jack Dawson startled Grace Sullivan out of her daze. She put down the book in her hand, smiled at Jack Dawson, and then said to the woman, "Aunt Foster, thank you. Please close the door on your way out. I want to have a few words with Mark."

"Yes." Aunt Foster replied, backing out and closing the door behind her.

"Are you sick?" Mark Dawson glanced at Grace Sullivan on the hospital bed and asked simply.

"It's an old illness, you know that, nothing much to say. The reason I called you here this time is to ask you to leave Luojin..."

"Leave Luojin? Why?" Jack Dawson interrupted Grace Sullivan.

Grace Sullivan sighed and looked at Jack Dawson, asking, "I heard from Cathy Lane that you had a fall?"

"Yes, I did fall once in the Wangchuan Mountains. My brain was slightly injured, and I lost some memories, that's all. By the way, why do I have to leave Luojin?" Jack Dawson said calmly, casually shifting the topic elsewhere, clearly not wanting to dwell on it.

Grace Sullivan looked at Jack Dawson and said sincerely, "Mark, I know you like me a lot, maybe even fell in love with me. I'm really sorry..."

Jack Dawson frowned slightly. Fell in love with you? He thought to himself, sure, Grace Sullivan is very beautiful, but isn't she a bit too self-confident? When did he ever fall in love with Grace Sullivan? Even in his previous life, it was he who initiated the divorce with Grace Sullivan; otherwise, Grace Sullivan wouldn't have said he kicked her out.

The only girl he ever liked was Megan Bennett. Even with Megan Bennett, when he finally saw her walking side by side with another man in Mingzhu City, he completely let go of that youthful infatuation. After all he'd been through, he was no longer that sentimental young man.

Like Grace Sullivan? At least for now, he didn't have that thought at all.

"You really lost all memory of marrying me?" Grace Sullivan saw Jack Dawson frown and asked, a bit puzzled.

"Yes. If you don't mind, could you tell me about what happened between us?" Jack Dawson said with a hint of anticipation. He really wanted to know if his previous self had truly fallen in love with the woman before him.

"Then do you still remember your own identity?" Grace Sullivan was also puzzled by Jack Dawson's words.

In her view, everything about Mark Dawson seemed normal. How could he suddenly lose part of his memory?

Jack Dawson scratched his head awkwardly. "I can vaguely remember being connected to Di Pharmaceutical. I think I'm an heir or something... that's about it. I don't really know much else."

To be honest, the only reason he said this was because not long ago that arrogant woman had tried to get him to sign the Di Pharmaceutical inheritance agreement. If not for that, he wouldn't even know what Di Pharmaceutical was.
