Chapter 4

Henry Cooper didn’t notice Unknown’s smile. Stroking his chin with one hand, he said to himself, “It’s just that ogre tendons are quite a rare material. If you make a bow and arrows yourself, you’ll inevitably waste some of it. Why not travel three hundred li east to the dwarf village and ask them to craft a set of hunting tools suited for you? They’re all born master craftsmen!”

“Three hundred li? A dwarf village?” Unknown frowned, shook his head, and said decisively, “Forget it, I’d rather not use any weapons.”

“Why?” Henry Cooper blurted out, but then suddenly understood Unknown’s thinking. Over the past two years, the village had often been attacked by wild beasts at night, and to a large extent, it was thanks to Unknown’s presence that the village remained safe and unharmed. Although there hadn’t been a beast attack for half a year, Unknown was still worried about the village.

“Don’t worry, it’s just a little over three hundred li.” Henry Cooper patted his chest and said, “Isn’t the village still guarded by me? Besides, you’ve already wiped out all the fierce beasts around the village in the past two years. There’s no way something so coincidental would happen.”

The other hunters also came over, patting Unknown on the shoulder and saying, “Go on! We’re still here in the village! Once you have your own weapon, hunting will be much easier for us. And while you’re at it, help us get some hunting tools made too.” The ogre bones were almost all laid out in front of Unknown.

“Alright! I’ll be back soon!” Unknown looked up at the sky and said, “If I set out now, I can make it back before nightfall tomorrow.”

Henry Cooper and the other hunters secretly chuckled at how inexperienced Unknown was when it came to weapon-making. No one told him that it often took dwarves quite some time to craft a satisfactory set of tools; they just skillfully helped Unknown pack his travel bag.

A bundle weighing over three hundred jin was easily hoisted onto Unknown’s shoulder with his right hand. The hunters in the village were already used to Unknown’s superhuman strength.

As for his right arm, which looked just like an ordinary person’s but possessed seven or eight hundred jin of strength, and his legs that could race a demon panther, Unknown found it odd, but compared to his most mysterious metallic left arm and the left eye that could detect others’ combat power, he didn’t think much of it.

Watching Unknown quickly disappear from sight as he left the village, Henry Cooper said to the other hunters beside him, “Unknown’s strength keeps growing. I wonder how it compares to the Behemoths of the orc tribes outside?”

Another young hunter nodded and said, “When he comes back, if we go hunting with Unknown again, maybe our only job will be to help him carry the game.”

“Yeah…” Henry Cooper nodded, then suddenly his expression changed as he asked the hunters beside him, “You guys? Did any of you give Unknown the money needed for forging weapons?”

The hunters looked at each other in confusion. No one spoke, but from their expressions, Henry Cooper already knew the answer—no one had given Unknown the required gold coins.

The simple truth that you need to pay for things was something everyone else knew, but Unknown was an exception. Ever since he was rescued—or rather, awakened—two years ago from an iron coffin filled with strange liquid, Unknown had never left the village except to hunt, living an almost completely isolated life. Naturally, he had no idea that buying things required money.

Henry Cooper looked in the direction where Unknown had gone, sighed lightly, and said, “Forget it! With Unknown’s speed, we couldn’t catch up even if we tried now. Luckily, the dwarf village has a custom of bartering with game. With Unknown’s skills, it’ll just delay him a few days at most.”

Chapter Two: Astonishing Strength Leaves All Speechless (Part 1)

The dense forest was filled with all kinds of trees intertwining and blocking the moonlight from the sky. The ground was covered with yellowed leaves, damp and rotting, giving off a nauseating stench.

From deep within the forest came the occasional roar of wild beasts, sending chills down one’s spine.

After running for over a hundred li, Unknown’s body began to feel waves of fatigue. He found a relatively clean spot, sat down, and lit a campfire to keep warm, so that after working up a sweat, he wouldn’t suddenly stop moving and catch a chill in the cold, damp forest.

A wild rabbit passing by had its skull smashed by a stone casually thrown by Unknown, and soon became a roast rabbit emitting a delicious aroma over the fire.

The roars of wild beasts echoed again from deep in the jungle. Thanks to his two years as a hunter, Unknown could tell that the distant beasts were in a state of rage.

Knowing how terrifying enraged beasts could be, Unknown had no intention of investigating the source of the noise, and continued to focus on roasting his fragrant rabbit meat.

At first, the angry roars of the beasts didn’t attract Unknown’s attention, but soon he realized he couldn’t ignore them. His hunter’s instincts told him that the furious beasts were rapidly approaching his location.

“Help! Help!” A dwarf, no more than a meter tall and wielding a giant axe, came running toward Unknown in great strides. Not far behind him was a deep blue velociraptor, baring its teeth and roaring in fury, clearly determined not to give up until it had eaten the dwarf.
