Chapter 4

“If you try anything funny again, I’ll burn that worthless thing of yours!” Grace Bennett glared at Ethan Clark in shame and anger. Clearly, her soft hips had just felt a hard object.

“Heh heh, couldn’t help it. After all, I’m a normal man.” Ethan Clark laughed dryly.

After having to suppress his desire, Ethan Clark’s mind cleared up. When he started paying attention to the gloomy mountain path, he realized that the yin energy here was getting heavier and heavier.

Yin energy is a state that’s hard to describe. Ordinary people might just feel a chilling, lifeless terror, but for a sorcerer, it’s possible to distinguish the concentration of yin energy. At this moment, Ethan Clark could already sense that the concentration was approaching the level of death energy, which meant that some unclean creatures could freely roam here!

For the yin energy to reach this level was highly abnormal, so Ethan Clark felt increasingly uneasy. He subconsciously said to Grace Bennett, “Do you feel anything?”

“No, just a bit cold.” Grace Bennett replied. Grace Bennett might have heard of the evil profession of sorcerers, but she had never seen anything unclean. With a sky knight protecting her, she wasn’t afraid at all.

“Grace Bennett, I think we should leave here. I have a bad feeling about this.” Ethan Clark said seriously. The concentration of yin energy had completely reached the level of death energy. Even if a normal village was surrounded by graves, this situation would never occur, so there was likely something unclean here!

“Hmph, you’re not a diviner. What kind of premonition could you have?” Grace Bennett said. It wasn’t that Grace Bennett was especially brave, but she felt that even though the village was a bit rundown, it was still much better than camping out in the wild.

Ethan Clark had nothing more to say, so he could only remind the sky knight and the other three attendants to pay attention to their surroundings. But they all seemed unconcerned.

The mountain path was rather narrow, at most allowing two horses to walk side by side. The strange trees around them, shrouded in yin energy and the cold moonlight, looked like a group of old men huddled together plotting some conspiracy. From time to time, strange noises would come from their “mouths,” and they would wave their withered arms, as if making sinister gestures.

The surroundings gradually became very quiet. This silence, instead of being calming, made people feel restless and anxious. The rhythmic clopping of hooves only made hearts beat in fearful sync with the sound, and if any sharp, abnormal noise appeared, one’s heart would suddenly leap.

Only the sound of hooves echoed through the forest. Grace Bennett gradually sensed that something was off, and heard the slightly heavy breathing of the man behind her. She asked in a low voice, “Don’t you often hide in dark places? Why are you scared here?”

Silence. Even when Grace Bennett asked this question, there was no response. Grace Bennett frowned, puzzled as to why Ethan Clark didn’t answer, so she turned her head, looked at Ethan Clark’s face, and said with some dissatisfaction, “Why aren’t you saying anything?”

Ethan Clark was using the surrounding yin energy to sense the area. When he saw Grace Bennett turn around, he quickly stopped, and suddenly realized that his face was very close to Grace Bennett’s pure and beautiful face. He took a deep breath, and only when Grace Bennett pulled away a little did Ethan Clark say, “I don’t know either, I just don’t want to talk. You’d better not talk either.”

Grace Bennett was stunned. She rarely saw Ethan Clark speak in this tone. She wanted to scold him, but thinking of the eerily quiet surroundings, she gave up on the idea…

After rounding the small hill, the village gradually appeared in Grace Bennett’s line of sight. However, the mountain mist was thick, so she could only see the outline of the village, and vaguely saw one or two villagers moving inside.

Seeing people made Grace Bennett feel at ease. The strange atmosphere just now had truly frightened her. If she hadn’t seen the village, she really wouldn’t have wanted to go any further.

“A cold white moon, thick yin mist, a deathly silence, aside from the writhing of life, there’s still…” Ethan Clark softly recited this line related to sorcerers, but before he could finish, his expression changed.

Grace Bennett was baffled, and turned to warn Ethan Clark not to say such scary things at a time like this. But at that moment, behind her was not Ethan Clark’s handsome face, but a rotting face with no eyeballs at all!!

“Ugh!!!!” The sound from a worm-filled throat scared Grace Bennett so much that she fell off her horse. Lying on her back, she didn’t see the beautiful night sky, but two huge faces with lips split open to reveal bloody teeth. Those demonic, blood-red eyes were filled with hunger and greed for flesh!

“Ah!!!!!” Grace Bennett screamed shrilly. Such a sudden and terrifying scene made the girl’s face turn as pale as paper, and she completely forgot that she was a sorceress who could control fire.

Chapter 003: Zombie Horde Attack

“Ugh~~~~~ ugh~~~~~” The drawn-out, hair-raising sound echoed in Grace Bennett’s ears. Just as Grace Bennett thought she was doomed, she suddenly heard the sound of bodies colliding.
