But today, Michael Bolton looked completely different from yesterday, as if he had matured overnight. He still hadn’t shed the youthful innocence, yet there was a hint of world-weariness in his demeanor. This contradictory temperament was perfectly combined in Michael Bolton.
Seeing Michael Bolton so focused on writing and drawing made her a little dazed!
She didn’t realize that a man who is serious about his work is the most attractive!

What are these things? They look like song titles!
Glancing at the names on the blank paper, Olivia Reed felt a bit puzzled. They all looked like songs!
In fact, it’s always been a tradition among girls to copy down lyrics, writing out the words of the most popular songs into a little notebook, one by one. Of course, Olivia Reed wasn’t the type to do this, but that didn’t stop her from knowing about it.
But usually, this was something only girls did; boys rarely took part in such things!
But aside from that possibility, she couldn’t think of any other explanation!
She realized she suddenly couldn’t see through her deskmate anymore. The old Michael Bolton was simple—so simple you could see right through him at a glance. To put it bluntly, he was someone who only cared about novels. But now, that inexplicable sense of world-weariness made him even harder to read!
“What are you looking at?” Michael Bolton suddenly looked up and asked. His beautiful deskmate’s blatant behavior hadn’t escaped his notice.
“Nothing!” A faint blush flashed across Olivia Reed’s pretty face as she quickly denied it. “I just saw you writing something extracurricular. Don’t let the teacher confiscate it!”
“It’s fine!” Michael Bolton replied with a smile.
“Attention, everyone! The physics teacher is sick today, so this period will be self-study!” At this moment, a boy walked up to the podium and announced. It was their class monitor, Jason Bolton.
“Oh!”
“Great!”
“Time for a nap!”
This news caused a commotion among the students. In this stressful third year of high school, any bit of leisure time was hard-won, so they would rest as long as they could!
Michael Bolton touched his forehead, feeling as if he had forgotten something important, but no matter how hard he tried, he just couldn’t remember what it was!
With the teacher absent, the classroom became chaotic, especially since it was confirmed the teacher wouldn’t be coming. In this regular class, it was nothing like the key classes where everyone studied desperately!
Unable to remember why, Michael Bolton could only continue writing. He had only planned to jot down some titles, but since the teacher wasn’t coming, he decided to write out the lyrics as well. Some of the lyrics were a bit fuzzy, so he needed to write them down and confirm them.
“Missing you is a pain that breathes…” Michael Bolton softly hummed the lyrics as he wrote them down.
Michael Bolton’s singing voice was very pleasant, something he had always been proud of. The melodious singing drifted into Olivia Reed’s ears.
So he could sing so well!
It sounded great, but she had never heard it before. Was it a new album by some singer?
A trace of confusion flashed in Olivia Reed’s eyes. If one song could be from a new album she didn’t know about, then the next few songs were all unfamiliar as well. The confusion in her eyes deepened, and her curiosity about Michael Bolton grew.
“Yan Yuanyuan, someone’s looking for you!” Suddenly, the class monitor Jason Bolton shouted, making Michael Bolton look up.
At the classroom door stood a few students dressed in a very non-mainstream style.
“Hey, aren’t those the hooligans from Class Four?”
“Shh, keep your voice down! Do you want them to cause you trouble?”
“What are they doing in our class?”
“Didn’t you hear the class monitor? They’re looking for Emily Carter!”
“How did Emily Carter get involved with those guys?”
“Hurry up!” At this moment, the leader, a student around twenty years old, shouted.
Suddenly, Michael Bolton remembered. Those guys were the infamous gang in the school. Of course, that’s what everyone called them in private; they themselves didn’t see it that way. They thought of themselves as a club!
Seeing the way they dressed, Michael Bolton was speechless. Still obsessed with the “Young and Dangerous” look? What era was this? It was just too much!
Their outfits were just like the “non-mainstream” style that everyone would later mock in the 90s. Of course, that wasn’t entirely accurate. In fact, the non-mainstream trend also had quite a following among the post-80s generation. It actually started with the 80s kids, but it was the 90s kids who really made it popular!
So later, many people said that the 90s kids were just playing with things the 80s kids had started. For example, “Martian script” became popular among the 80s kids, but before they had a chance to make it big, they had to face adulthood, work, and a series of other things, so the 90s kids took over.
But Michael Bolton himself wasn’t interested in the whole 80s vs. 90s debate. As someone from a rather unique generation, his class had both 80s and 90s kids, and he hadn’t noticed any real difference. Didn’t people used to criticize the 80s kids all the time, too?
These guys were basically feared by everyone at school. They had all repeated grades two or three times and were the type to act like kings and bullies.
