Chapter 9

Chapter 7: Intense Confrontation

Others didn’t know about her family situation, but Michael Bolton knew at least a little.

It seemed their family was in debt, and those people definitely wouldn’t let things go so easily!

Those people were a bunch of parasites in society, impossible to shake off!

“Thank you!” Emily Carter paused for a moment and said, looking at Michael Bolton with newfound respect.

Emily Carter’s voice was very pleasant, soft and gentle!

The classroom was in chaos, everyone discussing what had just happened, especially since one of the main characters was Michael Bolton, who instantly became the center of attention.

The trope of a hero saving a damsel in distress had always been a hot topic, and although Michael Bolton wasn’t exactly a hero, and Emily Carter didn’t look like a beauty right now, it had become a real-life case of hero saving the damsel.

After the incident was resolved, Michael Bolton sat back in his seat, looking calm as if nothing had happened, and continued writing lyrics.

In his mind, it really wasn’t a big deal. Kids getting into a group fight—what’s there to make a fuss about?

That would be too embarrassing!

“Who, who is Michael Bolton!” A sharp voice came from the classroom door.

A plump middle-aged woman stood at the door with a face full of resentment, and behind her was the class monitor Jason Bolton, who had just returned.

Michael Bolton thought for a moment before remembering that this middle-aged woman was Emily Thompson, a teacher for one of the first-year classes, and apparently Robert Brooks’s mother. She was known for being very mean, and her reputation at school wasn’t good.

Everyone looked at Michael Bolton—well, here comes the main event!

Michael Bolton stood up and said, “I am Michael Bolton!”

“So you’re the little bastard who hit my son!” Emily Thompson walked toward Michael Bolton with a face full of malice. “Well, you ill-mannered little bastard, how dare you hit my son!”

As Emily Thompson spoke, she lunged at Michael Bolton, her sharp nails aiming straight for his face. Michael Bolton raised his hand to block her nails, then slapped her across the face with his right hand.

“Smack!” A loud slap echoed through the classroom, leaving everyone stunned.

“You actually dare to hit me!” Emily Thompson said in disbelief. “You little bastard, how dare you hit me!”

“Smack!” Another loud slap. Michael Bolton didn’t hold back at all, and Emily Thompson’s cheek immediately swelled up.

“Say one more word and see what happens!” Michael Bolton said coldly, his face still calm. But those who knew him, like David Thompson and William Harris, could tell that Michael Bolton was furious.

“You little bas—”

“Smack!” Just as Emily Thompson was about to speak, Michael Bolton slapped her again, making her already greasy face look like a pig’s head.

“You little—”

“Smack!”

“You—”

“Smack!”

Michael Bolton didn’t hold back at all, slapping her more than a dozen times, turning Emily Thompson’s face into a pig’s head. For Michael Bolton, his parents were his bottom line—anyone who dared to cross it would face his retaliation.

“A student hit someone!” Emily Thompson simply plopped down on the floor and started acting shameless, “A student hit someone, I want you expelled, expelled!”

Everyone looked at Emily Thompson with contempt in their eyes. For a teacher to act like this, no one had any respect left for her.

Her reputation at school was already bad, and with Robert Brooks, the notorious school bully, as her son, people disliked her even more.

On the contrary, Michael Bolton’s actions made the students’ blood boil. Slap after slap, it was exhilarating to watch.

“How can you be so unruly? You just hit a classmate, now you’re hitting a teacher. You’re definitely going to be expelled!” Jason Bolton said.

“Shut up!” Michael Bolton glanced at Jason Bolton and said coldly.

Jason Bolton was immediately intimidated by Michael Bolton, his face turning pale and then green, feeling extremely embarrassed. The classmate he never took seriously was now so forceful, and as class monitor, he had been humiliated by him several times. His resentment toward Michael Bolton only deepened.

“So what if I hit you? This is called self-defense. Do you even know the ‘Law on the Protection of Minors’?” Michael Bolton said. “According to Article 21 of the ‘Law on the Protection of Minors,’ staff at schools, kindergartens, and daycare centers must respect the personal dignity of minors and must not impose corporal punishment, disguised corporal punishment, or any other behavior that insults their dignity.”

“Do you understand what that means? So many classmates saw it just now—it was you who started it. Even if you got hit, you have nowhere to complain!” Michael Bolton snorted coldly. “And at the end of the day, it’s your own lack of discipline. Everyone at school knows your son is a delinquent. According to Article 25 of the ‘Law on the Protection of Minors,’ for minor students with seriously bad behavior in school, the school and parents or other guardians should cooperate in disciplining them; if they are unable or ineffective in doing so, the student can be sent to a specialized school for further education according to relevant regulations!”
