Chapter 9

Brian Carter had no idea that when he met up with Lily Smith outside the school gate, a girl who was close friends with Lily Carter happened to pass by and caught sight of the two of them together. She frowned slightly, feeling even more suspicious inside. When Brian Carter and Lily Smith entered the hotel, she was nearly stunned, quickly snapping a few photos of Brian Carter and Lily Smith going into the hotel.

Chapter 7: The Monster Girl’s Makeup Art

Lily Smith entered the hotel and told Brian Carter to wait in the lobby while she slipped away to the stairwell.

He waited in the hotel lobby for a while, but Lily Smith didn’t return. Instead, he saw a group of people coming out of the elevator, led by none other than William Grant, the president of Lily Carter’s club, surrounded by several team members, looking quite dashing.

They must have just finished a performance and come to the hotel to change clothes. Lily Carter wasn’t among them, which made Brian Carter feel a bit disappointed, but he still managed a friendly smile and greeted them loudly.

William Grant frowned slightly, motioned for the others to go ahead, and then quickly walked over to Brian Carter. Lowering his voice, he said, “Lily Carter already went home. She’s not with us. She probably knew you’d be waiting here, so she left early. I think what you’re doing is a bit much. Lily Carter doesn’t like you. Is there any point in pestering her like this?”

Brian Carter was a bit taken aback. He really didn’t know the cosplay club would come here to change. Even though he realized it was a misunderstanding, he didn’t know how to explain for a moment.

Seeing Brian Carter remain silent, William Grant wanted to put more pressure on the chubby guy and said in a deep voice, “Do you really think you’re worthy of Lily Carter? Don’t you think people will laugh at Lily Carter if you two are together? If you really care about her, you should stay away from her, and don’t join our club activities anymore. On behalf of the club, you’re not welcome.”

William Grant’s words made Brian Carter feel stifled, and his smile faded. He had a good temper, but he wasn’t someone to be bullied. What William Grant said was truly hurtful. Even though Brian Carter didn’t want to clash with him, he couldn’t take it anymore.

As Brian Carter was about to retort, William Grant thought he was still being stubborn. His face darkened, and he lowered his voice, saying coldly, “Have you ever looked in the mirror? With your toad-like looks, you want to be with Lily Carter? I guarantee even the ugliest girl at your school wouldn’t like you. I’m being nice to you today, but if…” Just as William Grant was about to unleash a barrage of insults, a silvery, cheerful voice interrupted him: “Brian Carter! Brian Carter! Have you been waiting long?”

Lily Smith beamed, waving at Brian Carter. She had changed into a light purple long dress and slightly altered her hairstyle, letting down her ponytail so her waterfall-like black hair draped over her shoulders, instantly transforming her entire aura.

The change in her outfit was still within Brian Carter’s expectations, but Lily Smith hadn’t just changed her clothes—she’d worked some kind of magic. Her face looked a bit slimmer yet rounder, her eyes were bigger, her eyebrows longer and more arched, her nose a bit higher, the corners of her mouth lifted, and her lips rosier… From her features, you could still recognize the original Lily Smith, but now it was like a completely different person. With her new look, she resembled a little fairy, exuding an ethereal charm.

A touch of allure, a hint of enchantment, a dash of sexiness, and a burst of youthful energy.

In just a few minutes, this monster girl had transformed from an ordinary, unremarkable girl into a stunning beauty, so gorgeous it left people speechless.

The old Lily Smith would have scored at most forty-five points, but now she could easily break the scale at one hundred and twenty.

Brian Carter was completely stunned!

Lily Smith giggled, winked, and took Brian Carter’s arm. Her voice turned soft and charming as she lowered it and said, “Finally, I can show my true face. It’s so exhausting pretending all the time! Do you think I look good now?”

Brian Carter hesitated for a moment but answered honestly, “You look amazing! Why don’t you dress like this at school?”

Lily Smith burst out laughing and said, “I’d attract too many toads! Like the one on your left… and he’s even drooling.”

William Grant was even more shocked than Brian Carter, stunned by Lily Smith’s beauty. His mouth hung open, and he forgot to close it. Only when Lily Smith pointed it out did he snap his mouth shut and wipe his lips—there really was a glistening string of drool, and it was quite long, refusing to break even after a few shakes. Instantly, his face turned bright red with embarrassment.

Lily Smith acted as if she hadn’t even noticed William Grant, confidently taking Brian Carter’s arm, giggling as she led him away, leaving a trail of fresh fragrance behind, making William Grant feel utterly humiliated.
