Chapter 6

Unlike what Eric Turner had expected, in the three-meter-long, two-meter-wide, one-meter-high cave of his home, Ryan Turner was not glaring at him in anger. Instead, he was sitting by the only kang table in the house, looking gentle and pleasant, inviting him to sit down.

Two large black porcelain bowls were placed on the kang table. One bowl was filled to the brim with greasy fatty meat, and the other held two big chunks of meaty bones.

By all rights, the newly possessed Eric Turner shouldn’t have much interest in such simple and rough food, but his body betrayed his thoughts.

Eric Turner's eyes lit up involuntarily! His stomach churned nonstop, and his mouth began to water uncontrollably!

How long had this poor child gone without eating meat!

“Come, have a couple of drinks with me!” Ryan Turner, with only his right hand left, took out two porcelain cups about the size of Eric Turner's fists from under the kang table, then very carefully produced a shiny glass bottle.

According to the original owner's memory, glass was rare in this settlement.

It wasn’t that the settlement had lost the ability to produce glass, but making it was troublesome and lacked some key raw materials, making it far less comfortable to use than the coarse porcelain bowls.

Anything stored in a glass bottle was something extraordinary.

The original owner was extremely familiar with this home, yet even he didn’t know there were glass items in the house.

And this glass item felt very familiar to Eric Turner!

Although the label was gone, with years of experience, Eric Turner knew this was the kind of erguotou he often drank.

With a rough bite, Ryan Turner opened the bottle cap with his teeth and poured the remaining eighty percent of the liquor into the two big bowls.

“Dummy, let me tell you, you little bastard, this is liquor from a thousand years ago!” Ryan Turner said proudly, “Your old man found it back when he entered a thousand-year-old ruin.”

“Heh, we dug up ten bottles back then. Tsk tsk, you know what? Even the Controller personally came to buy two bottles from me!”

A sly smile appeared on Ryan Turner's face: “At that time, Tiger Girl’s dad stuck to me like a shadow every day, just to get a taste of our family’s liquor!”

“That old guy was really greedy.”

As Ryan Turner spoke, he picked up his cup and took a small sip, looking as if he was savoring it. Eric Turner looked at the liquor in front of him, hesitated for a moment, but finally drank it in one gulp.

He was very curious—after a thousand years, what would be different about this liquor?

It seemed that after a thousand years, it was still the same familiar taste.

While Eric Turner was slowly savoring it, Ryan Turner had already grabbed a meaty bone and was gnawing on it ravenously.

Seeing his father act like a starving ghost, Eric Turner felt a bit contemptuous, but the truth was, he joined in gnawing on the bones even more greedily.

It wasn’t what he wanted, but his stomach and his gastric juices made him go wild instinctively.

“Dad, don’t you want to say something to me?” A few minutes later, after the meat on the kang table had been swept clean by the two of them, Eric Turner asked curiously.

“Say what? You want me to comfort you? Dummy! Tiger Girl has already spread the word throughout the settlement that tomorrow she’s going to drag you, you little bastard, into her room. What the hell am I supposed to say!”

Ryan Turner glared, then lay down contentedly on the dry grass, picking meat fibers from his teeth, and when he saw one, he quickly stuffed it back into his mouth with care.

Looking at the familiar yet unfamiliar Ryan Turner, Eric Turner fell into deep thought.

He didn’t know how he had come to this world, but the original owner’s knowledge made him feel deeply that this world was very dangerous.

The survival point was stifling, but at least there was still hope of staying alive. But what would it be like outside the survival point?

Could he still survive?

Or, as Brian Cooper had said, maybe he wouldn’t even last a year!

Lost in wild thoughts, Eric Turner felt his consciousness begin to blur. Just before falling asleep, only one thought remained in his mind: when he woke up, he hoped he could return to the world he was familiar with.

He wished all of this was just a dream!

Daybreak!

Waking up in the murky, damp air, Eric Turner looked at the low cave ceiling and knew he was still living a thousand years in the future.

Too lazy to get up, Eric Turner first pulled up the dialogue box in his mind, only to see that none of the data had changed, especially the energy stat, which was still just a one.

“Let’s go, I’ll take you to the field team!” Ryan Turner, who had woken up long ago, sounded a bit down: “I’ve already spoken to Old Yu, he’ll find a good master to guide you.”

“Remember, out in the wild, be careful about everything!”

After saying this, Ryan Turner added solemnly, “Back then, when I first went out into the wild, your grandpa told me something. Now, I think it’s time to pass those words on to you.”

“In the wild, we’re just ants before the Great Awakening!”

Eric Turner nodded numbly, saying nothing.

On the way to the field team with Ryan Turner, Eric Turner felt the passage getting wider and more people appearing.

It seemed that Ryan Turner had a certain status in the survival point, as quite a few people greeted him proactively. But after a few words of conversation, they all looked at Eric Turner with a teasing gaze, as if waiting for a good show to begin.
