Chapter 13

After chatting idly with Charlotte Harris for quite a while, I more or less understood that in the Northern Territory, humans who cultivate are divided into two types: those who practice secret Daoist arts, and those who practice armor mastery techniques. In the Tang Empire, there are plenty of people who cultivate the Dao, but I’ve never even heard of armor mastery techniques—no idea what kind of strange thing that is. Both secret Daoist arts and armor mastery techniques have many different schools and branches, each with their own rules and regulations. As for monsters, things are much simpler: all monsters strive to increase their demonic power in order to escape the heavenly tribulation. When their demonic power reaches a certain level, they enter the legendary state of evolution, undergoing a transformation, and their power soars ever higher.

As night deepened, I yawned and said to Charlotte Harris, “If you don’t want to do anything else with me, I’m going to sleep.”

Charlotte Harris giggled, half-kneeling in front of me, her body trembling like a snake, her ample breasts nearly touching my nose. “What else do you want to do? Don’t say I didn’t warn you—I eat people and don’t spit out the bones. Do you dare touch me? Go on, you little pervert.”

I swallowed hard. “Anyway, it’s not like you dare do anything to me. I’m going to sleep now, no time to mess around with you. Please move aside.” I deliberately reached out to push her, but the moment my fingertips touched her full breast, it felt like I’d been shocked by scalding electricity—pain shot through my fingers. I cried out and jerked my hand back. Looking down, I saw my skin had been scorched.

“Hahahaha!” Charlotte Harris burst into a shrill, wild laugh. After a long while, she slowly stood up, her gaze mocking, cold, and tinged with helplessness. “No man can touch me. My body was cursed long ago. In this life, I will never have a man.”

I stared at her in a daze. The night wind blew, bringing a chill. Under the pale starlight, Charlotte Harris’s smile faded. She fell silent, gazing at the sky, her silken, shimmering body like a frozen flame flower—cold, dazzling, burning, blooming in lonely splendor season after season.

Chapter 007: Smile Even When You Cry (Part 1)

I woke up feeling refreshed.

The sun was already shining on my backside, the weather was warm and cozy, and the soft breeze carried a strong scent of lavender, making my bones feel limp.

“What a blissful life! I wouldn’t trade places with the emperor!” I shouted, jumped up, stretched lazily, and scratched my itchy back. Huh? Where did the beauties go?

By the lakeside, near the woods, a thin layer of white gauze had been drawn up at some point, covering the lake. The sound of water splashed, the gauze fluttered, and it seemed like there were figures moving in the lake.

I tiptoed over, lifted a corner of the gauze, and peeked inside—almost getting a nosebleed on the spot.

Three gorgeous beauties were bathing!

Bathing alone is nothing compared to bathing together. I want to bathe too!

In no time, I stripped off my clothes and was about to jump into the water. Although I didn’t like bathing in the past, I’ve now decided to develop this good hygienic habit.

A flash of white light shot straight at me, as cold and clear as a snowflake landing on my forehead.

My chest went cold, and before I could dodge, I was sent flying, stark naked. What hit me was a snow lotus petal. When it landed on the ground, it melted into a clear drop of water.

Charlotte Harris’s teasing laughter came from the center of the lake: “Little pervert, do you think you can take advantage of Fairy Gan’s jade body?”

I got up sulkily and put my clothes back on. Damn it, Anna Harris is really that overbearing, hitting people without warning. An idea struck me, and I quietly circled to the other side of the lake, undid my belt, took out my little buddy, and let out all the urine I’d been holding in all night into the lake.

On the lake’s surface, the spray of urine sent ripples spreading out.

Thinking of the three beauties bathing in the “seasoned” lake, I laughed so hard my stomach hurt. When they come out, it’ll definitely stink of pee. Heh, Diana Carter’s urine is better than saliva—moisturizes the skin, beautifies the complexion. The beauties should bathe a little longer.

I wandered around for a while, then walked into the forest. The trees were tall and lush, their colors vibrant. It felt like I’d stepped into a kaleidoscope. Sunlight filtered through the multicolored leaves, scattering bright circles of light on the grass.

This really is the Northern Territory—even the trees come in so many colors.

Many of the big trees were laden with plump fruit, all kinds I’d never seen before. Some were bright red, smooth and round; some were golden yellow, flat and wide like big pancakes; some were deep green, even longer and thinner than cucumbers; and some were bigger than my head, covered in white fuzz. The fruit was all ripe, bulging on the branches, giving off a sweet fragrance.

I happened to be thirsty and was about to climb a tree for a feast, but then thought, why not try my Diana Carter claw? Standing under a tree full of purplish-red berries, I focused my mind at my brow, and a crimson claw shot out, grabbing the lowest branch. With a crack, the thick branch snapped, and the fruit fell like rain.

“Catch them!” As soon as I thought it, the crimson claw moved swiftly—wherever my eyes looked, the claw followed, catching a whole handful of berries.

The Diana Carter claw really is incredibly powerful! Excited, I leapt from tree to tree, picking fruit and practicing with the Diana Carter claw. I discovered that the arm under my ribs, covered in silver scales, could stretch up to two meters, lengthening and shortening at will, entirely under my control.
