Chapter 11

At the long table, a petite, slender girl with delicate, youthful features sat in the second seat, her brows tightly furrowed, fingers interlaced and knuckles white, as she spoke seriously: “A 28-year-old three-star super warrior... Even in Huaxia, such a person would be considered a national treasure. Are we really going to make an enemy of someone like that? If we provoke retaliation from the Huaxia state apparatus, it won’t end well for us.”

The girl’s accent was slightly odd, clearly not a native of Huaxia. In fact, she was from Sakura Island, codename Ray, an S-class mercenary.

At the opposite end of the long table, a tall, muscular, blond middle-aged man chuckled and said, “Besides, he’s a genius who entered Tianjing University at 13 and became a billionaire by 20. Now he’s acquainted with the eldest daughter of the Wen family—his future is limitless. As the Huaxia people say, he’s a living ‘Dragon Ao Tian.’”

A noble of Gekai, codename Blake White, S-class mercenary.

At the far end of the table, a wild and unrestrained-looking man sneered, “So what if he’s a ‘Dragon Ao Tian’? What does that have to do with us?”

William White, Wolf of the Night, S-class mercenary, internationally wanted A-level criminal.

“Aren’t you all overcomplicating this? It’s just about killing a woman—why worry so much about super warriors? Is he really going to protect her 24/7? The Wen family isn’t exactly an untouchable target. The Lone Wolf and the She-Leopard were just caught off guard. If they’d known about the super warrior in advance, they wouldn’t have lost so badly.”

Seated next to him, Blake White nodded. “That’s right. We might not be able to take on a three-star super warrior, but the Wen family’s young lady isn’t a super warrior.”

“And according to my information, Wendy Green has to return to the Special Administration Bureau at least one day a week to report and attend meetings. That’s a very good opportunity,” the Sakura Island girl added.

Kingston was puzzled. “Leaves for a whole day every week? Why?”

William White snorted. “Aren’t all bureaucracies like that? What’s there to ask?”

Kingston said, “So we actually have a pretty good chance? As long as we pick the right time to avoid the super warrior, how hard can it be to kill an ordinary rich girl?”

“Hmph, exactly. Don’t be blinded by the super warrior’s aura—this mission isn’t that hard. Even if the Wen family’s young lady hides at home her whole life, we can always pay her a visit…”

Before he could finish, someone suddenly interrupted.

“Wait, I have something to say.”

The speaker sat in the most inconspicuous corner at the end of the long table, with delicate features and a handsome face. He was the special guest for this operation, the outsider codenamed Mr. Smith.

“You again!” William White sneered, mocking, “You piece of trash, you think you have the right to speak here?”

Despite being insulted to his face, Mr. Smith remained calm and pleasant, smiling at William White.

“Greetings, great sex offender.”

The Sakura Island girl couldn’t help but burst out laughing. William White glared furiously, eyes wide with rage, but before he could explode, Mr. Smith had already turned to address the others: “If the Wen family dares to entrust their daughter’s life to Wendy Green, they must have reason to trust his abilities. And if Wendy Green knows his girlfriend’s life is at stake, yet still dares to attend official meetings as usual, don’t you think there’s something off about that? Even if you insist on treating a business tycoon as an idiot, surely you wouldn’t underestimate a super warrior too, right?”

“That does make sense,” Blake White stroked his chin. “But we can’t just tie our own hands because of some vague suspicion. Besides, we have no other choice now, and we can’t possibly confront a super warrior head-on.”

Mr. Smith said, “Thinking like that is exactly where you’re making a mistake.”

Blake White was patient. “I’d like to hear more.”

“First of all, have you considered that such an obvious loophole—one even a child could spot—might be a trap deliberately left for us?”

“Of course I’ve considered it, but without any evidence, there’s no point in acting on it.”

“Isn’t the title of three-star super warrior the best evidence?”

The two were having a lively discussion, but the conversation didn’t last. William White interrupted impatiently, “Why don’t we just try and see if it works? What’s the point of sitting here talking nonsense with this piece of trash? If you’re too scared to act, just say so. I can do it alone. My team is already in place and ready to move at any time. If you want to listen to this trash ramble, count me out.”

Blake White raised an eyebrow and turned to look at Benjamin Franklin.

Benjamin Franklin said in a deep voice, “William White, are you planning to leave the team?”

“I just don’t want to team up with trash.” William White sneered at Mr. Smith, then said to Benjamin Franklin, “You need a vanguard scout anyway. Isn’t it perfect for me to test the waters?”

Benjamin Franklin frowned but said nothing more.

“Suit yourself.”

William White did have a point. Right now, all the information about Wendy Green was just on paper, and it was all from the Wang family’s side. If William White was willing to take the initiative, even if he failed, gathering more intel would still benefit the next step.
