Chapter 10

"Don't move, or it won't come out easily." Emily Harris could only watch as that thing sprang out from between her fingers, giving a sudden jolt. Her sweet, pretty face was instantly flushed with red, and she shot Brian Carter a fierce glare before, cheeks still burning, reaching out to grab the thing that kept twitching.

It's best to remove the catheter while that thing is still dormant. You just need to deflate the balloon, straighten it, and pull it out in one go. But if it wakes up, the difficulty multiplies, and sometimes it can't even be removed.

Especially just now, when that thing suddenly sprang to life like a sleeping lion, a flash of shock appeared in Emily Harris's eyes. Although she had already helped tidy up for this patient once before and knew he was well-endowed, he had been unconscious and unresponsive at the time.

This thing is really big... and hot...

This guy isn't even that tall, so why is it so exaggerated down there? Did all his nutrition go to this part?

She gave Brian Carter a light scolding, feeling utterly embarrassed. It wasn't like he wanted this to happen, but faced with such a seductive scene, with a soft little hand gripping him, it would be abnormal if he didn't react—after all, he's perfectly healthy now.

Seeing Brian Carter remain silent, only looking awkward, Emily Harris glared at him again, gripping that thing with one hand and trying to pull out the tube with the other. But after one attempt, it still wouldn't come out, and Brian Carter frowned.

"Relax, you won't get it out like this. If it doesn't work, we might have to use glycerin." Emily Harris quickly let go, puffing her cheeks and glaring at Brian Carter again.

Brian Carter still said nothing, because he really didn't know what to say.

Emily Harris was speechless, so she could only keep holding that thing with one hand and try again with the other.

But because she was holding that thing, the burning, hard heat radiated through even the plastic gloves, making her legs go weak and her heart tingle. Gradually, her whole body felt limp.

Normally, a more experienced nurse would have no problem with this, but she hadn't officially graduated yet and had only been interning here for a short time. Because of her excellent performance and exceptionally sweet looks, she stood out among the nurses and was assigned to the special care ward to look after more distinguished patients. But Brian Carter was the first patient she had to handle like this since her transfer.

Her previous patient had been a woman.

After several attempts, Brian Carter lay motionless, while Emily Harris's breathing grew heavier and a sheen of sweat appeared on her forehead.

"Damn it, this guy must be doing it on purpose... but it's really big, and so hot..."

Chapter 006: Playing Music with Breath

Three days later, at Shancheng People's Hospital, a figure strode out, looked up at the blazing sun in the sky, then turned to glance at the hospital building. Only then did Brian Carter calmly head outside.

After three days of inpatient observation, the hospital had fully confirmed that Brian Carter had no aftereffects, so he could be discharged.

A lot had happened in those three days, like all the people who came to visit Brian Carter—his boss, and the person who hit him with the car.

Brian Carter's father hadn't come, because no one had notified him. The person who hit Brian Carter told him this with a smile when he visited. His exact words were: "It was my fault for hitting you, but after the hospital checked you and said you were fine, I decided not to tell your father—no need to worry the elders."

The one who hit Brian Carter was a man in his early forties, with a fat head and big ears, his whole body round and fleshy, looking rather corrupt. His surname was Zhang, full name Matthew Bolton. At his request, Brian Carter called him Brother Nine. But, well, even though he didn't look like a reliable person, what he did after hitting Brian Carter really moved him.

The accident was actually Brian Carter's fault, not Mr. Zhang's. It was already good enough that the man took him to the hospital, but he didn't just do that—he paid all the expenses, and when he learned that Brian Carter had been unconscious for over ten hours and the hospital didn't know why, he immediately had Brian Carter moved to the special care ward. He even used Brian Carter's phone to carefully notify people—first contacting the boss listed in Brian Carter's contacts, then getting his girlfriend's number from the boss, but never telling Brian Carter's father.

Which makes sense—if it was just a false alarm, it's better not to worry the elders.

And that wasn't all. After Brian Carter woke up, Matthew Bolton came to see him and insisted on paying him for lost work time, but Brian Carter firmly refused. The man didn't owe him anything; the fault was Brian Carter's. He'd already done more than enough, and if Brian Carter accepted the money, he'd feel bad about it.

This made Brian Carter reflect afterward that, even in a world full of wealthy people, there are still good ones out there. Maybe for someone like Brother Nine, who drives a Porsche worth over three million yuan, the hospital bills and checkups were nothing, but whether he chose to do all that was a matter of attitude.

Aside from that, Brian Carter's life had been pretty peaceful these past few days. Except for the sweet little nurse who helped remove his catheter—she would roll her eyes at him every time they met, her face dark and silent, while he felt incredibly awkward. The rest of the time, he mostly immersed himself in reading Xue Tu's memories in his mind and trying to start cultivating!!
