Chapter 1: The Turning Point of Rebirth and Destiny
Huaxia.
Chengfeng City.
Chengfeng University, Freshman Year, Class 1 of the School of Finance and Management.
Inside the spacious classroom, there weren’t many students. Out of about a hundred seats, only a little over twenty were occupied, scattered here and there. On the podium, a middle-aged man was earnestly explaining the textbook. He wore glasses, had a square face, and showed little expression.
Suddenly.
“Ring ring...”
The bell signaling the end of class rang.
The middle-aged man closed the textbook and said, “Class dismissed!” Then, he walked straight out of the classroom.
At the same time, the previously quiet classroom finally became a bit livelier.
In a seat near the center, a girl who looked to be in her early twenties took a lunchbox out from under her desk and then stood up.
She was about 170 centimeters tall, very slender, with a ponytail, skin as fair as mutton-fat jade, lightly made up, wearing a white blouse and denim shorts. Her long, straight legs were wrapped in flesh-colored stockings, and on her feet was a pair of flats with cartoon patterns. The girl’s eyes were bright, like black gems under the sunlight.
As she stood up, many students in the classroom instinctively looked up at her, their gazes burning—especially the boys.
Because this girl was simply too eye-catching. She was the belle of the School of Finance, one of the campus beauties of Chengfeng University, and, it was said, came from a wealthy family with a strong background—a true rich and beautiful girl.
Her name was Grace Walker.
Grace Walker didn’t have the arrogance of other rich girls and was actually very easy to get along with, but she was not easy to pursue at all.
Since the start of freshman year, three months had passed, and she had already received over a hundred confessions from boys at the university.
Without exception, she had rejected them all.
Some said her pride was in her bones, that she looked down on the boys at Chengfeng University. Others said her mind was on her studies and she didn’t want to date.
But only her classmates knew: the reason Grace Walker rejected all the other boys’ confessions was because of that loser!!!
Loser!
Yes!
A loser!
A guy who ranked last in academics, skipped class every other day, and was as weak as a chicken.
While the classmates were watching with envy, jealousy, and unwillingness, whispering among themselves, Grace Walker had already walked to the corner of the classroom with her beautiful legs.
At the seat in the corner, a boy was lying there, sound asleep.
“Henry Carter, wake up!” Grace Walker gently nudged him and spoke softly, her voice crisp and pleasant.
“What?” Henry Carter felt groggy, subconsciously lifting his head. His delicate yet pale face was full of confusion and puzzlement.
“What’s wrong with you?” Grace Walker asked with concern. She could tell that Henry Carter was acting strangely.
But Henry Carter said nothing, the confusion in his eyes growing deeper. What was going on? Wasn’t he just refining the Dragon Spirit Pill? Where was the pill room? The pill furnace? The herbs? Where was this place?
Suddenly.
Henry Carter’s body trembled violently, and a sharp light flashed in his eyes!!!
He stared at Grace Walker like a beast eyeing its prey.
Grace Walker instinctively stepped back, startled by Henry Carter’s gaze.
“Lanxin? This is the School of... School of Finance and Management, Class 2? Chengfeng University?” Henry Carter withdrew his gaze, his breathing suddenly quickening, his heart surging with shock.
He had been reborn!
Reborn a hundred years ago, back to the eve of the most painful and regretful turning point of his life.
He couldn’t help but pinch his own arm.
It hurt.
It was real, not a dream.
“Henry Carter, don’t scare me. What’s wrong with you? Do you need to go to the campus hospital?” Grace Walker asked anxiously, her voice a bit hurried.
“It’s nothing...” Taking a deep breath, Henry Carter trembled slightly. After all, he had experienced everything before, and he quickly calmed down.
“That’s good. Henry Carter, this is your lunch. I can’t come back at noon—I have a good friend’s birthday party to attend.” Grace Walker breathed a sigh of relief and placed the lunchbox she was holding on Henry Carter’s desk.
“I’ll go with you at noon!” Henry Carter said, his tone carrying an inexplicable sense of certainty.
“Huh?” Grace Walker was stunned at first, then her face lit up with joy and a big smile. She nodded vigorously, “Okay!”
Then, “I’ll go back to my seat now. There’s still one more class. You... you shouldn’t sleep anymore!” Grace Walker turned and left as if fleeing.
Henry Carter quietly watched Grace Walker’s pure and beautiful figure, countless memories surfacing in his mind.
On this day in his previous life, Grace Walker died tragically!!!
Henry Carter could never forget!
All because of that damned birthday party, all because he hadn’t gone with her.
