Chapter 5

Edward Cooper smacked his lips disdainfully: “Grace Walker, if the man you liked was outstanding, I could tolerate it, but damn it, you like a loser, and I just can’t stand it!!!”

“Shut up…” Grace Walker’s face flushed with anger. She was about to say something when, at that moment, her small hand was suddenly grabbed by Henry Carter.

In an instant, Grace Walker’s delicate body trembled with excitement—this was the first time Henry Carter had ever held her hand.

She liked Henry Carter. In those two hours in the elevator, she had already fallen for him. Women are emotional; liking someone happens so suddenly, so unbelievably, so irrationally.

Maybe Henry Carter wasn’t outstanding, maybe in everyone’s eyes he was a loser, but so what? She, Grace Walker, just liked him—liked him deeply!

Liking someone never needs a reason.

Even though, for the past half year, Henry Carter had been so dispirited, so wasted, she had never despised him. The only thing that made her sad was his rejection and resistance toward her.

  But she persisted.

Finally, the clouds had parted. How could she not be excited?

“Let’s go!” Henry Carter said softly, holding Grace Walker’s small hand, his heart filled with warmth and determination. Lanxin, in this life, no one can bully you. In this life, it’s my turn to protect you.

Grace Walker even forgot about Edward Cooper’s existence. She lowered her head slightly, a shy blush spreading across her beautiful face. Walking beside Henry Carter, she looked just like a newlywed bride.

“Damn it!!! Go? Did I say you could leave?” Edward Cooper roared in fury, especially when he saw Henry Carter holding Grace Walker’s hand. Jealousy and rage burned wildly in his heart. Without another word, he stepped forward and blocked their way.

“I don’t like repeating myself. Move!” Henry Carter lifted his head and looked at Edward Cooper, his calmness almost eerie.

“Who do you think you are? A damn loser who doesn’t like repeating himself? That’s hilarious! Since when do losers get to act tough? I’m not moving—what are you going to do about it?” Edward Cooper sneered.

Edward Cooper’s attitude was extremely arrogant, and his voice was loud. By now, quite a few people had gathered to watch. The looks they gave Henry Carter were mostly gloating.

After all, Henry Carter was Grace Walker’s chosen one.

Just as Edward Cooper said, if Grace Walker liked a genius or someone with a powerful background, that would be one thing. But damn, this Henry Carter was a complete loser. Oh, and an orphan too. Trash like that doesn’t deserve Grace Walker!

Henry Carter lifted his eyes slightly, his cold gaze fixed on Edward Cooper.

“Loser, your eyes are so scary, so cold. Staring at me like that, I’m about to piss myself, hahaha…” Edward Cooper was utterly fearless, even craning his neck arrogantly, a smug grin on his face.

  The next second.

Without any warning, Henry Carter moved!!!

No unnecessary movements—just a single kick, plain and simple…

But the speed of that kick was incredible, as swift as thunder, as fierce as a tiger or dragon. Edward Cooper didn’t even have time to react, let alone dodge.

  “Bang!”

A heavy, muffled sound rippled through the air.

Having already become a martial artist, Henry Carter was far beyond what Edward Cooper could imagine. Even though Edward Cooper had just joined the martial arts club, he was only a bit stronger than an ordinary person. Compared to Henry Carter, it was like night and day.

  “Bang…”

Three or four meters away, Edward Cooper crashed hard to the ground. He clutched his abdomen, his face pale and twisted in pain, half-kneeling, blood trickling from the corner of his mouth.

His face was contorted, cold sweat pouring down his body, the pain nearly making him pass out.

“Let’s go!” After delivering the kick, Henry Carter didn’t spare Edward Cooper another glance. His eyes remained calm as ever. Holding Grace Walker’s small hand, he spoke softly.

Grace Walker was clearly a bit dazed. Who would have thought Henry Carter would actually make a move? And even more unexpected, Edward Cooper wasn’t even a match for a single move from Henry Carter. But since Henry Carter didn’t explain, she didn’t ask. She obediently followed by his side.

Meanwhile, the students watching around them looked at each other in disbelief.

  How could this be?

It was like seeing a ghost!

“Henry Carter, just you wait! I’ll kill you!!! I swear, I’ll definitely kill you!”

Edward Cooper struggled to lift his head, glaring at Henry Carter and Grace Walker, screaming with hatred.

Unfortunately, Henry Carter didn’t pay him any attention. As for people like Edward Cooper, his instinct was to kill them—would save a lot of trouble that way.

But this was Chengfeng University, and the rules here were—private fights allowed, but no killing.

For now, he didn’t want to break that rule. Not out of fear, but because he wanted to stay at Chengfeng University a while longer.

After all, Chengfeng University was no ordinary place!

There are no less than a thousand universities in China, but only twenty or thirty have partnerships with the martial arts world. Chengfeng University happened to be one of them.

In his previous life, he hadn’t stayed at Chengfeng University for long, so he wasn’t very familiar with it, and as a result, there were many things he hadn’t figured out.

  For example—

Why does Chengfeng University allow students to fight, and even have a special martial arts arena?

Why does a single university have more than a dozen martial arts clubs?
