Chapter 19

The old man in black spoke in an unhurried tone. As he reached this point, the blank spirit stone in his palm was already shining brilliantly. With a wave of his right hand, the light faded, and ashes drifted off the surface of the blank spirit stone, finally revealing a much smaller, diamond-shaped... spirit stone!

Misty energy swirled, and a treasure-like glow flashed!

“Though the latter part is good, if you cannot refine a spirit stone with a purity above eighty percent, you are not qualified to learn it. As for my class, I do not teach the latter part, only the techniques from the first part of refining spirit stones!”

The classroom was silent. Everyone stared at the spirit stone in the old man’s hand. It seemed that everything else paled in comparison. With this spirit stone as a benchmark, the ones they had refined looked almost fake...

“Casually refining a spirit stone with at least ninety percent purity... This Mr. Harris, aside from being a teacher, must be a prominent figure in the outside world!!” Brian Brooks took a deep breath. Today’s class felt as if it had opened a new door for him!

Chapter 8: Intelligence and Counterattack!

In the spirit stone classroom, William Harris’s voice was as calm as ever, as if he wasn’t teaching students, but rather expressing his understanding of magical artifacts.

Every casual remark seemed to be an epiphany for the students, enlightening them. However, such intense focus was a bit overwhelming for those who had just entered the Dao Academy, so they could only try to take notes first.

In the end, when even note-taking couldn’t keep up, many students began whispering to relax. Brian Brooks now understood why the Department of Magical Artifacts had only three main classes. Even this class, which only taught spirit stone refining techniques, was not something one could fully master after just a few lectures.

Feeling a bit tired at this moment, the David Clark beside him finally snapped out of his daze. Looking at Brian Brooks, he couldn’t help but speak in a low voice.

“Brian Brooks, you’re in quite a bit of trouble this time. I heard that several teachers have suggested expelling you...” His eyes were full of sympathy, but when he saw Brian Brooks’s small bag, his face twitched a little.

“Which teacher said that!” Brian Brooks was a bit angry. Although he had already made up his mind and was prepared, he still felt troubled.

David Clark patted Brian Brooks on the shoulder, sighing inwardly and reminding himself to take this as a lesson. He was about to offer some comfort when, suddenly, two people walked in at the classroom door.

These two were clearly senior students, wearing black Daoist robes different from the others, their expressions solemn. As soon as they appeared, they immediately drew the attention and vigilance of all the senior students in the classroom.

“What happened? Even the Disciplinary Department is here!”

“It’s them! Wherever they show up, there’s always blood and chaos.”

Even though the freshmen didn’t know who the two were, hearing the seniors’ discussions and seeing their stern demeanor, they quickly understood.

Brian Brooks’s heart skipped a beat, a sense of foreboding rising within him.

William Harris frowned and looked at the two black-robed students. The two respectfully cupped their fists toward William Harris and handed over a jade slip.

William Harris read it with a frown, then looked up, his gaze sweeping over the students before finally landing on Brian Brooks.

With that one look, all the students in the classroom turned to look at Brian Brooks, each with different expressions. They all understood that Brian Brooks’s matter had finally drawn the attention of the lower academy and was about to be dealt with.

Even though Brian Brooks already had a plan, seeing this scene still made him a bit nervous, especially when the two black-robed students looked at him sharply, clearly unfriendly.

“Student Brian Brooks, come with us.” One of the two from the Disciplinary Department spoke coldly.

But before Brian Brooks could get up, William Harris snorted coldly.

“That’s enough. Everything can wait until after class. Now, you two leave.”

The two Disciplinary Department students paused, not daring to offend the teacher. They bowed their heads in agreement and retreated to the classroom door to wait. William Harris ignored them and continued teaching.

Brian Brooks breathed a sigh of relief. Looking at William Harris, he felt grateful. Although he already had a plan, having more time was always better, allowing his thoughts to become more complete and clear. He closed his eyes to calm himself.

During the rest of the class, many students took pleasure in his misfortune, but not all were like that. The vast majority still felt it had nothing to do with them and continued taking notes.

David Clark sighed inwardly, not knowing how to comfort Brian Brooks. He knew that if Brian Brooks was expelled, they would be in two different worlds. Even if they met again in the future, it would be with deep sighs.

With these thoughts, time passed. Two hours later, when William Harris finished the class and left, all the students immediately looked at Brian Brooks, and the two black-robed Disciplinary Department members fixed their cold, sharp gazes on Brian Brooks.

“Do we still need to invite you, student Brian Brooks?”

Only then did Brian Brooks open his eyes, his expression calm, a little different from his usual self. Without a word, he walked down, following the two Disciplinary Department seniors out of the classroom.

As he left, the classroom immediately erupted in buzzing discussion.

“Is Brian Brooks really going to be expelled?”
