Chapter 14

At this point, Henry Clark didn’t continue speaking. His meaning was already quite clear: if this were an ordinary world, then everyone would just go their separate ways, with no connection to each other. But if this really was the movie world of "Skyline," and they truly were in a cycle world, then things like sneaking across borders or deportation would be meaningless—at that point, survival would be the only thing that mattered!

The team then confirmed: there were six people in total. Aside from the woman, who seemed resigned to fate, the other four all turned their eyes to Henry Clark, and J even asked directly, “So, mysterious man from the East, you’ve been speaking so logically—shouldn’t you tell us your plan now? Are we supposed to find the protagonist Jared and protect him for three days?”

The others all stared straight at Henry Clark, and Jenny even showed an expectant expression.

Henry Clark raised his hand and looked at his watch. With a chuckle, he said, “Since we’re talking about plans, we need to analyze things again. Everyone has a watch and has seen the mission issued by the Lord God. Maybe you’re all thinking of protecting Jared for three days, right? But I think there’s a huge trap in this mission.”

“A trap?” The bearded Osage looked at his watch curiously. The watch only displayed a simple message: protect Jared for three days, or survive a week in Skyline. The message was clear, and he couldn’t see what kind of trap there could be.

In fact, it wasn’t just him—the others were the same. They all frowned and looked at Henry Clark again.

Henry Clark still wore a slight smile. He rubbed his brow and said, “Yes, a big trap. If my analysis is correct… this is the dead end and the way out that the Lord God wants to show us. All the clues have already been laid out for us.”

“A desperate trap with a path to survival!”

Chapter 7: Analysis

“First, let’s assume the cycle world is real, and this really is Skyline. All my analysis from here on will be based on that premise. There are several pieces of information in the watch’s mission that we need to pay attention to.”

In a luxurious five-star hotel, the six of them were sitting on the sofa, drinking cold beverages and eating light snacks. As they ate and drank, they listened to Henry Clark slowly analyze everything.

“First, if this is Skyline, then when will the aliens arrive? Today? Tomorrow? The day after? The watch doesn’t say. I thought back carefully to the plot of Skyline, and there’s no clear hint in the story either. We can only roughly deduce the time: it happens on a night after the male and female leads attend a friend’s party, when the alien arrival event occurs.”

“This timing of the alien arrival is absolutely critical. If we want to survive, we must know when it will happen—either to avoid it or to react to it. Either way, we need to know the timing. In fact, this information is already shown on the watch.”

When Henry Clark said this, everyone looked at their watches. After a few seconds, James said thoughtfully, “Is it within three days? Because the mission is to protect the protagonist for three days—does that mean the aliens will appear within three days?”

“Yes and no.” Henry Clark smiled and shook his head. He continued, “This brings us to the trap I mentioned earlier. Let’s set that aside for now and talk about something else… Actually, this mission is two missions: one is to protect Jared for three days, and the other is to survive for seven days. Let’s not talk about the first one for now—let’s talk about the second: surviving for seven days…”

“What threats do we face in this world?”

At this point, Henry Clark laughed. His first thought was that The Carter Organization would come to capture or kill him, but if this really was Skyline, then The Carter Organization wouldn’t exist, and his greatest threat would disappear—there was no better feeling than that.

“Natural disasters, man-made calamities—earthquakes, fires, even thunderstorms could kill us. There are other possibilities too, like gang shootouts or a terrorist group suddenly launching a bombing attack—those could kill us as well.”

When Henry Clark mentioned terrorist organizations, the usually silent, bearded Osage looked a bit uneasy, but it was only for a moment, and no one else noticed.

“But the chances of those are too small—so small they can be ignored. If the cycle world is real, there’s no way the difficulty would rely on such random events. This is Skyline, not a senseless horror movie. So, from this information, we can conclude one thing: within seven days, the aliens will definitely arrive.”
