Suddenly, the hundred-bite rat’s body twisted in a strange way, its thick forelimbs pressed against the blunt blade, and with a sudden burst of strength from its hind legs, it skillfully leveraged itself, emerging completely unscathed—a breathtaking display.
The hundred-bite rat’s eyes lit up, as if relieved to have narrowly escaped disaster.
However, before it could finish rejoicing, a sharp whistling sound rushed toward it. Even with its dull hearing, it could sense the terrifying energy contained in that sound. Air swept through the forest of barbs embedded in Wendy’s knee joint, producing a chilling, soul-shaking noise. If it were struck head-on by Brian Clark’s knee, there would be absolutely no chance of survival!
Any creature that manages to survive on the garbage planet is no ordinary being. Even in such a desperate situation, the hundred-bite rat refused to sit and wait for death!
Its body arched like a bow, and in midair, it suddenly paused for a split second. Just as Wendy’s knee was about to strike, its two forelegs braced hard against the barbs. Using this force, it shot toward Wendy’s neck like an arrow released from a bow.
With a soft “puff,” its two forepaws were instantly pierced through, the sharp barbs slicing open its soft belly and leaving several deep, bone-revealing wounds on its hind legs.
On the garbage planet, such severe injuries would leave almost no chance of survival for any creature. But that was no longer its concern. All it wanted was to land a fierce blow on its enemy before dying! Even if that blow would seem insignificant to its foe!
Its menacing fangs flashed with a cold, chilling light—teeth sharp enough to bite through metal, convincing the hundred-bite rat that it could leave an unmistakable mark on its enemy!
Driven by unwavering resolve, the hundred-bite rat seemed to suddenly find its soul. With reckless abandon, it unleashed all its life force! It was certain this would be the sharpest strike of its entire existence!
Closer, ever closer—the enemy’s neck grew clearer in its eyes, and the hundred-bite rat grew excited! Just one second—no, half a second would be enough! In just half a second, it could deliver the most glorious, brilliant strike of its life!
Its eyes blazed, burning with the fire of life’s passion!
Suddenly, the fire in its eyes was abruptly extinguished!
A silent blade swept up from below, as if meeting no resistance, slicing the hundred-bite rat cleanly in two! In an instant, blood and entrails rained down, splattering dust on the rust-red earth.
Brian Clark’s mind finally calmed down!
Looking up, he saw Logan Carter quietly watching from not far away. On a seven-meter-long titanium rod, another hundred-bite rat hung impaled. Logan Carter’s battle had been much simpler. The spot where Brian Clark had him stand happened to be right where a panicked hundred-bite rat was fleeing. Caught completely off guard, the rat had no chance to react to Logan Carter’s attack, which was almost precise to the millisecond.
From a distance, Brian Clark waved to Logan Carter: “Hey!”
He then picked up the two halves of the hundred-bite rat from the ground!
Brian Clark boasted to Logan Carter, “How about it? My skills aren’t bad, right?”
Logan Carter replied blandly, “Utterly terrible!”
Brian Clark was instantly annoyed: “What? Utterly terrible? Are you sure you saw it right?” It was easy to imagine Brian Clark’s anger at having his most confident side so mercilessly criticized.
Logan Carter showed no restraint: “Other than your hand-to-hand combat skills, which are barely average, your piloting, shooting, and tactical awareness are all extremely crude. As for actual combat experience, there’s not enough data to judge.”
“No way!” Brian Clark stared wide-eyed in disbelief.
Logan Carter shrugged, looking comically odd: “Of course, the probability of a misjudgment is 0.3%!”
Brian Clark argued indignantly, “You must be jealous of me, that’s why you’re trying to put me down!”
Logan Carter: “That possibility does not exist!”
“Then it must be that the mecha I’m piloting is too old. Haha, that’s it! How about I try piloting you someday?”
Logan Carter paused for a moment, his voice a bit strange: “There are a total of thirty-one gaps. How did you know one would pass by my position?”
“Heh heh, impressive, right? Intuition!” Brian Clark said proudly.
“Intuition?” Logan Carter’s electronic eyes suddenly lit up: “Insufficient data, unable to calculate!”
Brian Clark snorted: “Calculate? If you could calculate it, it wouldn’t be called intuition!”
Logan Carter replied unhurriedly, “It was just a low-probability event.”
“What? You mean I got lucky? It was just luck? Let me tell you…” Brian Clark shouted in exasperation.
……
The two figures grew longer and longer in the light of the star sinking below the horizon. The towering spire of the pulse relay station above Brian Clark’s home could be seen from afar, like a beacon, always guiding Brian Clark home.
