Chapter 1

Chapter One: I Want to Go Home

The muddy Phantom Abyss, the most terrifying demon illusion in the Borra Continent, a forbidden land across the entire continent, where no living person should approach.

The annual phenomenon of demonic energy swelling has appeared once again. Guarding the Phantom Abyss are the bravest warriors of the Yaksha clan, the strongest among the Borra people. A hundred thousand elite Yaksha soldiers stand ready, stationed at the exit of the Phantom Abyss. Across the Borra Continent, only the Yaksha warriors, the most valiant among the Eight Tribes, possess such courage and strength.

The number one expert of the Borra people, the Yaksha King Logan Carter, who had reached the peak of the Divine Spirit state, once ventured alone into the muddy Phantom Abyss. He is also the only Borra person to have entered this secret realm and come out alive. The scarred Yaksha King never spoke a word about what he encountered in the Phantom Abyss; from that day on, the Yaksha army began its garrison.

Later, it was said that Logan Carter finally broke through the insurmountable boundary of Spiritual Guidance and advanced to the realm of Supreme Freedom, and thus Logan Carter was honored as the number one expert on the Borra Continent.

The muddy Phantom Abyss constantly spews out all kinds of demons, with astonishing combat power. Perhaps thanks to the blessing of the Creator God Brahma, some super demons are unable to cross the energy barrier into this world, but they rule over the vast, boundless illusionary realm inside—a world beyond the imagination of the Borra people. Every warrior takes pride in entering the illusion to seek the truth, but life is limited. Since the Yaksha King Logan Carter, no one has dared to come here again.

The hundred-thousand-strong army of the Yaksha King is on high alert. They are all battle-hardened veterans who have followed the Yaksha King through life and death, fearless of any hardship or death, but at this moment, their faces are grave.

The environment at the exit keeps shifting, and the warriors can all feel the surging demonic energy inside, which is exceptionally strong this year, as if it could burst through the barrier at any moment.

Yet at this moment, the interior of the muddy Phantom Abyss is unusually quiet. The world inside is similar to the Borra Continent, only more changeable, both real and illusory—even demons find it hard to distinguish.

At this time, countless super demons rarely seen in ordinary times have gathered in the abyss, but they have lost their usual arrogance, each one crawling on the ground, not daring to breathe.

At the center of the countless demons are three humanoid figures—or more accurately, in this place, only demons should exist. Any demon capable of transforming into a human form is either a terrifying-level existence or possesses shapeshifting or illusion abilities. To still exude such overwhelming dominance while deliberately suppressing themselves is simply unheard of.

The Borra people classify demons as: Minor Demon, Walker, Shapeshifter, Illusionist, Terror, and Horror.

Minor Demons are commonly seen, with very low attack power, and even ordinary people can handle them; they can even be kept as pets.

Walkers have a certain degree of lethality, but ordinary warriors can still deal with them.

Shapeshifters are huge in size, possess extremely strong physical power, and are highly destructive—they are the main targets for the Borra people to eliminate.

Illusionists can hide among crowds, making them hard for ordinary people to detect. They are more intelligent, with combat power similar to Shapeshifters.

Terrors are considered dangerous; once discovered, all experts in the area will actively hunt them down. As for Horrors, no one has ever seen one—it's only rumored that they exist in the illusion, and it seems very difficult for them to come to the Borra Realm or the Underworld. Their combat power is said to be close to that of the Eight Tribes.

But at this moment, in the muddy Phantom Abyss, several Horror-level monsters are standing aside with their heads bowed.

At the center, the three humanoid figures—or more precisely, three demons and a child. The child looks to be about ten years old, with messy hair, completely unfazed by the terrifying surroundings. If not for those black eyes, one would think he was a demon himself. In this situation, even if the Yaksha King Logan Carter were here, he probably couldn't stay calm.

The three humanoid demons: one is a giant, his whole body radiating a fiery red; another is a dreamlike, fairy-like woman, her purple pupils holding the power to overturn the world; the last, who is also the most smugly smiling, appears as a middle-aged man, except for a single diamond-bright horn on his head.

At this moment, the flame giant's face is grave, his features twisted together, the flames on his body swirling incessantly, and the surrounding space beginning to ripple.

Awooo... Rumble!

The middle-aged man and the fairy woman remain completely unmoved, while the demons tremble as if they've swallowed poison; some even explode on the spot, but none dare to move. Only those Horror-level monsters fare a little better, though their faces are still grim.

And the flame giant hasn't even used any demonic power—just his aura alone has this effect.

If the Borra people saw this, they would surely be terrified, thinking it was the end of the world.

"Alfred, you shameless coward, if you've got guts, get in there yourself!"

The flame giant's voice shakes the entire illusionary realm.

The middle-aged man still smiles, as if the angrier his opponent gets, the happier he becomes.

Just this roar alone could shatter ordinary demons to pieces, yet the little boy beside him, who has no power at all, is completely unharmed.

"Gavin Smith, you lost again. Emily Clark, it's your turn."
