Chapter 13

It's just a pity that Blaze's words hit Blade's sore spot. This was currently the easiest way to ignite Blade's fighting spirit, and Blaze grasped it perfectly. After glaring fiercely at Blaze, Blade asked Ryan Carter, "What level are you?"

"Level 10," Ryan Carter replied.

"Very good!" Blade nodded. "How about this: just me against the two of you?"

"Damn, I'm only level 1, level 1! What level are you?" Blaze shouted.

Ryan Carter echoed Blaze's response, "Yeah, he's only level 1, he can't PK."

Blade smiled. He never intended to PK with a level 10 and a level 1 player; he said that just to get the other side to back down. But unexpectedly, Ryan Carter added, "So just me alone is fine."

Blade's eyes widened; he simply couldn't believe his ears. "What did you say?"

"What? Weren't you looking for a PK?" Ryan Carter retorted.

Ryan Carter's retort left Blade with no room to back down. Of course, he wasn't afraid, he just felt it wasn't worth it. To have his first battle in "Parallel World"—the one that would make his name and open a new era—be against a level 10 little mage, Blade thought that was really beneath him.

But for the moment, Blade couldn't think of any dignified reason to refuse, so he could only nod and say, "Fine, very well!" Looking around, he saw a large open space by the pond at the foot of the hill. Blade pointed over there and said, "How about over there?" This was also his first PK in Parallel World, and he felt that finding a spacious, flat area would be more advantageous.

Ryan Carter didn't care at all; he just nodded and walked over.

Blaze quickly followed beside him and whispered, "Are you crazy? You're going to PK him without even knowing what level he is?"

"So what? If I can PK, then I'll PK!" Ryan Carter laughed.

On the open ground by the pond, the two stood facing each other. Behind Blade were his companions, all of them tense. They trusted Blade, which was why they continued to follow him in the game. Whether Blade could shine as brilliantly as before—maybe this battle would answer that question.

Standing behind Ryan Carter was Blaze, who was completely distracted at the moment. He was estimating the depth of the pond, looking for a spot he could use if he fell in. He didn't think Ryan Carter had any chance of winning. Who was the opponent? Blade, a top player in the online gaming world. Any game he played, he was always at the very peak. Demon Domain? That was just one of his many glorious high points.

"Let's begin!" Ryan Carter said, lifting his mage's robe and drawing a dagger.

"A dagger?" Blade was stunned. This guy was clearly a mage!

There were some universal skills in the game. Once you reached the required level and paid the fee, any class could learn them. Appraisal was one of them. Its function wasn't just to identify equipment; it could also be used to scout a player's or monster's class and level.

With his rich online gaming experience, Blade had learned Appraisal right away, and had already used it on the two when they first met. Two mages, one level 10, one level 1. Since his Appraisal skill wasn't high enough, he couldn't identify their equipment yet, so when Ryan Carter pulled out a dagger, it really surprised him.

"So he's a noob," Blade shook his head, feeling a bit regretful. His first fight was actually going to be against a mage wielding a dagger—there was really nothing to brag about.

Blade casually drew his own weapon from his waist—a dagger as well! Blade's class was Rogue, a true dagger expert.

"Go ahead!" Blade felt that, facing such an opponent, it would be inhumane to try to seize the initiative.

"Please!" Ryan Carter suddenly reversed his grip on the dagger, clasped his fists, and saluted Blade. This move caught Blade off guard, and while he was still puzzled, Ryan Carter suddenly darted forward and stabbed.

"So fast!!" Blade was shocked. With his research into the game, he could tell at a glance that Ryan Carter's character had definitely added points to Agility. A mage with Agility... With Blade's online gaming experience, he'd seen plenty of full-Agility mages, but those who relied on high Agility for high dodge or even total MISS needed extremely high levels and equipment to support it—such builds only came together much later in the game.

Moreover, only in games whose data had already been thoroughly studied by players would people start trying such builds. But in Parallel World, first, it was a new game and everything was still being explored; second, each person was limited to one account, and if you made a mistake with your stat allocation or for any other reason ended up with a trash character, there was no deleting and starting over. So even though Blade was already level 25, he'd only allocated ten levels' worth of points, and before figuring out the right build, he wouldn't recklessly use his points.

So, in Blade's eyes, this Agility mage in front of him was an extremely reckless existence. While sizing up Ryan Carter, Blade hurriedly dodged to the side, evading Ryan Carter's direct thrust.

But unexpectedly, the opponent reacted extremely quickly. That thrust wasn't even finished before, seeing Blade move, he immediately reversed his hand and slashed.
