Chapter 19

Blade, though a top-tier online game expert, was just an ordinary man in this regard. At this moment, seeing a beautiful girl stop beside him, he couldn't help but feel a little excited. Who would have thought the girl wouldn’t sit down, but simply raised her right hand and patted Blade on the back.

The whole place remained silent. Do these two know each other? Everyone wondered. Beauty and the Beast!!! That was what most people were thinking, while a few others thought of the saying “a flower stuck in cow dung.”

Blade was flattered. Of course, he knew he didn’t know this girl at all. He looked up, just about to speak, when he saw the girl smile at him, then point to his feet and say, “You dropped your money!”

Everyone, including Blade, looked down.

A shiny gold coin lay at Blade’s feet.

“Oh, thank you!” Blade instinctively bent down to pick it up, still thinking he could use this as an excuse to buy the girl a drink.

“You’re welcome.” Blade heard the girl reply. By the time he picked up the coin, the girl had already walked to the door, glanced back at him with a smile, and gracefully left.

Blade was completely dazed, clutching that gold coin so tightly he was about to master the Iron Sand Palm.

“Great figure, beautiful face, and such a lovely voice! Ah! I think I’m already in love with her.” Blaze muttered, “Logan, you… huh?” As Blaze turned to speak to Ryan Carter after the girl left the bar, he found that Ryan Carter had already jumped up and was quickly chasing after her.

“You really are my idol!” Staring at Ryan Carter’s back as he dashed out of the tavern, Blaze was dumbfounded.

Ryan Carter rushed out of the tavern and looked around, only to see the girl had already turned into an alley on the right, so he hurried after her.

Blade, you idiot! Ryan Carter cursed inwardly. Still fiddling with that coin, did you not notice that your “Frost Memory” left on the table had just been swiped?

No one would have expected that such a girl would do something like this. If he hadn’t seen it with his own eyes, Ryan Carter wouldn’t have believed it either.

How despicable! Ryan Carter gnashed his teeth. This incident brought back shadows from his childhood.

Back then, when he was practicing martial arts, he consumed a lot of energy every day, so Ryan Carter followed the principle of eating small meals frequently. Every time he had a snack, that unlucky kid from his second uncle’s family would always show up: “Hey, Little Ryan, why are you eating off the floor again? Pick it up, or third uncle will beat you when he sees it.”

“Oh!” Little Ryan Carter would hurriedly crawl to the floor to pick it up, but by the time he climbed back onto the table, his delicious food—and that unlucky kid—would both be gone.

Besides that, there were all sorts of tricks like “UFO!”, “Your dad’s looking for you!”, “Black Cat Detective is starting!” and so on, which eventually made Ryan Carter hate these snatch-and-grab scams with a passion. Unfortunately, by the time he resolved to fight back and give that second uncle’s kid a good beating, the kid had already grown tired of Ryan Carter’s snacks and couldn’t be bothered to play those tricks anymore.

So many years had passed, but whenever Ryan Carter thought of this, he still felt a sense of injustice. Today, he finally encountered it again.

Too bad the other party was a girl—how to handle this would require some thought.

As Ryan Carter pondered, he had already reached the mouth of the alley. Turning the corner, he found himself nose-to-nose with her.

Wow! She smells really nice! was Ryan Carter’s first thought. Then, realizing the situation, he quickly took a step back and saw the girl giving him a sultry look. “Why are you following me?”

“Hand it over!” Ryan Carter said coldly. Even though the close contact just now had left his face a bit flushed, and he even felt a strange urge to do it again.

“What are you talking about?” The girl was clearly playing dumb.

“Playing dumb? I’m talking about the dagger you just took from the tavern: Frost Memory!” Ryan Carter said.

The girl was stunned. She wasn’t pretending to be dumb—she just hadn’t expected the person chasing after her to be someone other than the owner, and certainly not someone coming to reclaim the lost item. She thought it was just some guy attracted by her looks, trying to strike up a conversation. She was quite confident in her own beauty.

Chapter 11: Flying Dagger! The Flying Dagger Returns

“Hurry up and hand it over!” Ryan Carter reached out his hand.

“Why should I give it to you!” the girl retorted.

Ryan Carter frowned. Was he really supposed to lecture her, saying, “Stealing is wrong, stealing is naughty, give it back to the owner, okay?” Of course, he’d said things like that before—don’t forget, he was a teacher. But this girl was about his age, and judging by her skillful and calm moves just now, Ryan Carter suspected she might be a professional. Talking sense to someone like that was pointless.

If reason wouldn’t work, then fists would have to do the talking. Ryan Carter had been influenced by his father’s environment since childhood, and most of his character was molded after his dad, except for their differing views on why to practice martial arts.

Ryan Carter clenched his fists. The girl’s expression changed. “What are you doing? You want to hit me? Or hit a woman? You wouldn’t be that sleazy, would you?”

“Don’t want to get hit? Then hand it over, or I guarantee you won’t be a beauty for much longer!” Ryan Carter said.

The girl’s face showed a look of fear. After a moment, she gritted her teeth and said, “Fine, just my bad luck! Here you go.” As she spoke, she reached into her pocket, pulled out a dagger, and hurled it fiercely at Ryan Carter.
