Chapter 11

"It's about time, go change into your work uniform." After hastily eating a bit, Grace Bennett said to Jack Carter.

The male waiter's uniform was actually quite simple: just a pair of long pants, a white shirt, a vest, and a necktie. The female waiter's outfit was even simpler—a black T-shirt paired with a white miniskirt.

When Grace Bennett came out of the changing room, Jack Carter felt his heartbeat quicken for a moment, because that skirt was really quite short, revealing a large stretch of fair, shapely thighs. Under the dim lighting, it exuded endless allure, making one want to reach out and run a hand up those fair, full thighs.

"You little rascal, what are you staring at? Didn't you get enough of a look at noon?" Seeing Jack Carter staring at her, Grace Bennett's pretty face flushed slightly as she rolled her eyes at him.

"Ahem, A-Ping, isn't your skirt a bit too short?" Jack Carter coughed awkwardly and then said.

"What, are you afraid I'll suffer a loss?" Grace Bennett blinked at Jack Carter as she spoke.

"A little," Jack Carter answered honestly. Although he had only known Grace Bennett for half a day, she was his first female friend in Jiangzhou City. He couldn't help but feel a certain fondness for her warmth and her lively, cheerful personality.

"Old-fashioned! This is called sexy, don't you know?" Grace Bennett rolled her eyes at Jack Carter again, then swayed her hips as she walked out.

Watching Grace Bennett's sexy figure as she turned and left, especially her round butt wrapped in that miniskirt, Jack Carter couldn't help but shake his head awkwardly.

Maybe he really was old-fashioned, really OUT!

As he was thinking this, Grace Bennett, who had turned to leave, suddenly came back and tugged at him, pouting, "What are you standing there for? Relax, I'm clever—no pervert can take advantage of me!"

But as she said this, a blush flashed across Grace Bennett's pretty face, as she remembered how this big boy in front of her had taken quite a bit of advantage of her at noon.

Hearing this, Jack Carter felt a strange flutter in his heart, smiled, and then followed Grace Bennett toward the bar counter. Over at the bar, Ms. Emily was sitting on a tall barstool, her two fair, beautiful legs crossed, looking especially alluring and sexy.

"Handsome, tell me, what can you do?" Seeing Jack Carter in his work uniform walking over with Grace Bennett, Ms. Emily turned on her barstool to face Jack Carter and asked.

Chapter 6: The Bar's Female Elite

Jack Carter was too embarrassed to look directly at Ms. Emily, because when she turned toward him, from his angle, not only could he see a deep, fair cleavage, but following those crossed, shapely thighs, he could even catch a glimpse of her round, fair butt that the skirt couldn't quite cover.

"Ms. Emily, my name is Jack Carter. I just graduated from school this year and have no experience working in a bar. I hope Ms. Emily can be patient and guide me." Although Jack Carter was embarrassed to look directly at the scantily clad Ms. Emily, his answer was still calm.

"No worries, if you have no experience, just ask and learn more." Ms. Emily showed no sign of displeasure at his words. Instead, she nodded reassuringly, then turned to Grace Bennett and said, "Grace Bennett, since Ajie is your friend, you should teach him more during this time."

"Okay, Ms. Emily." Grace Bennett nodded in reply.

Seeing how simple it was to settle his job, Jack Carter couldn't help but think to himself: Are people in bars just more straightforward in personality and work, unlike those in enterprises and public institutions who are always dragging things out?

While the bar hadn't officially opened yet and no customers had arrived, Grace Bennett handed a drink menu to Jack Carter and said, "Ajie, take a look at the drink and food menu and get familiar with it. Most of our customers are regulars, and when they order drinks, they just mention them casually. You need to be able to remember them."

Jack Carter nodded and took the menu, then opened it. The menu was over ten pages long, and many of the names were in English. Jack Carter had only graduated from a technical secondary school and his English was pretty bad. Seeing this, he was a bit dumbfounded—he could barely understand any of the English.

Looks like he needed to hurry up and study English whenever he had time. After all, next year he would have to take English for his self-study college exam anyway. As he thought this, he said a bit embarrassedly, "Do I have to memorize all of these? My English isn't very good, so it might be hard for me to memorize them all in a short time."

"Don't worry, how many people in our line of work are actually good at English? Hehe, here, this is the translation book that Ms. Emily specially put together for us."

Jack Carter took the other book, opened it, and sure enough, its contents were exactly the same as the drink menu, but after each English name, there was a Chinese translation—for example, after Vodka it said 伏特加, after Whiskies it said 威士忌, and so on.

After flipping through a few pages, Jack Carter couldn't help but breathe a sigh of relief. Although his English wasn't good, his memory was much better than most people's. With this translation book, memorizing the drink names wouldn't be hard for him. What surprised him, though, was that the sexy and charming Ms. Emily turned out to be an English expert.

Since there were still no customers and nothing else to do, Jack Carter simply took the opportunity to study the drink menu with the translation book. After about ten minutes, he closed the book and handed it back to Grace Bennett, asking, "Besides the drink menu, is there anything else I need to remember?"
