Chapter 14

Jack Carter saw the thugs trying to take advantage of someone in distress, and when he called them out and stopped them, not only did they not leave, but one of them even pointed at him. His face darkened, and he couldn't be bothered to waste words with them. He simply reached out, grabbed Red's arm, and then lifted him up and tossed him away.

Red didn't even have a chance to resist before he was thrown three or four meters away, landing heavily on the ground with a thud.

At first, Green saw Jack Carter grab Red's arm and wanted to step in to help. But now, seeing Jack Carter casually toss the 130-140 pound Red three or four meters away, he shuddered in fear, abandoned Red, and turned to run. As for Red, he was nearly scared out of his wits by the fall, and despite the pain, scrambled away as fast as he could.

Seeing the two thugs flee in panic, Jack Carter finally turned and looked down at the woman sitting against the lamppost. At this sight, Jack Carter couldn't help but show a wry smile—it turned out that this dead-drunk woman was the very same cool and sexy white-collar elite from the bar.

"Hey, miss, wake up, wake up!" Jack Carter squatted down, grabbed the elite woman's fragrant shoulders, and shook her as he called out.

But as soon as Jack Carter shook her, the elite woman, as if her whole body had fallen apart, slumped softly from the lamppost toward him. Her arms reflexively hooked around his neck, her chin rested on his shoulder, and she let out a faint snore from her nose.

Immediately, Jack Carter felt two soft, full mounds pressing against his chest—plump and springy, making him both enchanted and startled. He hurriedly grabbed the elite woman's fragrant shoulders and pushed her back against the lamppost.

Although having those two soft mounds pressed against his chest was truly comfortable and intoxicating, Jack Carter didn't want to take advantage of the elite woman in this situation.

But as soon as Jack Carter pushed the elite woman back and let go, she slid down the lamppost and started to fall backward onto the open pavement.

That open space was a sidewalk paved with tiles—if she fell backward and hit her head, it would be a miracle if she didn't bleed. Seeing this, Jack Carter was startled and quickly reached out to pull her back, and with that pull, the elite woman once again collapsed into his arms.

Looking at the elite woman sleeping soundly in his arms, feeling the endless allure radiating from her mature, fragrant, and soft body, Jack Carter couldn't help but feel a headache coming on.

Given the elite woman's current state, unless Jack Carter used Wumen magic to sober her up, she definitely wouldn't wake up before tomorrow morning.

Naturally, Wumen magic wasn't something to use lightly. Besides, as the saying goes, "one drunken night can wash away a thousand sorrows." Since the woman in his arms had chosen to drown her sorrows in drink, Jack Carter thought it best to let her wake up naturally. Maybe when she woke up the next day, all her troubles would be gone with the wind, and she wouldn't need to go to the bar to get drunk again.

With this in mind, Jack Carter decided to find a nearby hotel so the elite woman in his arms could get a good night's sleep.

But to stay at a hotel, you need money and an ID. Yet after searching all over the elite woman's body, Jack Carter couldn't find the bag she had with her at the bar.

Once again, Jack Carter felt a headache coming on. How could he get a hotel room without an ID or money? She didn't even have a phone—otherwise, he could have called her family or friends.

"Forget it, forget it, I'll just do a good deed to the end and take you in for the night." Just as Jack Carter was feeling at a loss, a taxi happened to drive by. After hesitating for a moment, he wrapped one arm around her back and the other under her beautiful legs, picked the elite woman up in his arms, and flagged down the cab.

The taxi driver was a middle-aged man. After asking Jack Carter where he wanted to go, he gave him a thumbs up and said, "Kid, you're something else. When I was your age, I didn't even know what a woman felt like, but you already know which kind of woman is the most flavorful! Just look at her figure—she's amazing, and she's the ripe kind too. Tsk tsk, kid, I really envy you!"

Jack Carter was speechless. Apparently, because they were close to the bar, the driver had mistaken him and the elite woman—who was shamelessly sprawled across his lap—for a pair of wild lovers.

As Jack Carter took the taxi toward Deya Community, Bald Frank, who had been robbed by Jack Carter earlier that day, was woken up by a sudden phone call.

"Damn it, Little Luke, are you out of your mind? Do you know what time it is?" Bald Frank glanced at his phone screen, then picked up and cursed as soon as he answered.

Little Luke was a petty thief working for Bald Frank.

"Qiang, Brother Qiang, I—I just, just snatched a bag," came Little Luke's trembling voice over the phone.

Hearing Little Luke's shaky voice and realizing he was calling at this hour, Bald Frank immediately rolled out of bed, his face full of excitement and anticipation. "A big score! How much did you get?"

"Not—not much, just—just a few hundred yuan," Little Luke's voice was still trembling.

"Damn you, Little Luke, are you messing with me in the middle of the night? Just a few hundred yuan and you call me? What are you shaking for?" Bald Frank's hopes were dashed in an instant, and he exploded in anger.

"I—I'm scared," Little Luke continued to tremble.

"Scared of what? It's just a few hundred yuan. Do you think the police are going to open a special case for this? Is this your first day on the streets?" Bald Frank was nearly driven mad by his words.
