Chapter 9

While the two were arguing, George Webb hurriedly jogged in. When he saw the wine had reached Edward Clark, his expression changed as well and he said, “I want this wine.”

The group started arguing again. At this moment, Steven Cooper also walked in with a beaming face, looked at Jason Carter and said, “Great wine, brother! You don’t just have one jar, do you? No need to say more, this wine is good—however much you have, I can help you sell it all.”

Only then did the others remember that Jason Carter had originally come to ask everyone to help sell the wine, so one by one, they all turned their attention to Jason Carter.

Jason Carter looked at everyone and said, “This really is good wine, and I can make some more. The effect will be exactly the same, just not as exaggeratedly priced as Brother Grant offered—it’s not worth a million. If you all want some, I’ll go back and make a jar for each of you, so don’t fight over it.”

Robert Grant shook his head and said, “Brother, to be honest, this has always been a sore spot for me. Today, you’ve cured my heartache, and for that, your Brother Grant thanks you! Sigh, if it hadn’t been for my own problems back then, that woman wouldn’t have gone with another man. When I was in prison, I told myself, whoever can help me, I’ll pay whatever it takes. Little Jason, don’t refuse this million—I think it’s worth it!”

Steven Cooper laughed and said, “Brother Grant is right. It depends on who the wine is for. For some people, it’s worthless, but for those who need it, it’s priceless. Brother, say no more. We all know your family’s situation, and none of us are short on money. In this matter, not only can we help you, but we can also use this to expand our own networks. In the end, we’re the ones who benefit.”

Edward Clark nodded and said, “Little Jason, how about this: you handle making the wine, and the rest of us will take care of the business side. When there’s profit, we’ll split it up. What do you think?”

Jason Carter nodded and said, “Sure, no problem. But the herbs are limited, so the quantity won’t be large.”

“That’s fine, as long as there’s some.”

Robert Grant turned his gaze to the wine jar.

Now that they knew Jason Carter could make more, Edward Clark pushed the jar over to Robert Grant and said, “I know you want it, so I’ll let you have it first.”

Robert Grant laughed heartily, pulled out a bank card and handed it to Jason Carter, saying, “This is for my pre-ordered jar.”

When the others wanted to pay, Jason Carter quickly waved his hand and said, “It’s not that expensive. Pay me when I’ve made it.”

Chapter 7: A Chance Encounter

Edward Clark’s place combines dining, drinking, and entertainment. After the meal, Edward Clark arranged for everyone to go to a place in the back for a foot bath.

Jason Carter actually didn’t want a foot bath, but couldn’t resist the enthusiasm of the others and was dragged along.

Seeing a beautiful, scantily clad girl helping him take off his shoes and wash his feet in the basin, Jason Carter felt completely uncomfortable and quickly said, “No, no, I can do it myself.”

Steven Cooper burst out laughing, “Looks like you’re still a virgin, huh? How about I help you out today and get you past this hurdle?”

Jason Carter blushed and hurriedly waved his hand, “No, no.”

The pretty girl washing his feet also giggled, and intentionally or not, rubbed Jason Carter with certain parts of her body, making him even more flustered—he had never experienced anything like this before.

Ignoring the others, seeing that it was still just afternoon, he said to them, “I’m going out for a walk and will be back soon.”

After saying that, he quickly put on his shoes and socks and rushed out.

Behind him came the sound of everyone’s wild laughter.

With a red face, Jason Carter finally made his way outside.

Looking back at the luxuriously decorated building, Jason Carter’s heart was still pounding.

In fact, Jason Carter had mixed feelings about today’s events, with a swirl of desire and hesitation in his heart.

Forget it, I’ll just take a walk outside before going back!

Thinking this, Jason Carter composed himself and walked toward the front.

At the very front of Edward Clark’s place was a tall building, where they had eaten; behind it was a large courtyard, which was where Jason Carter had just come from.

“Sir, do you need any service?” A woman in professional attire, also very beautiful, hurried over to greet him. She knew about Jason Carter’s relationship with her boss and understood that, despite his youth, he was an important figure.

“No, I’m just going out for a walk.”

Jason Carter walked out from there.

As soon as he stepped outside the lobby, Jason Carter’s eyes locked onto two young people walking toward him, and a long-buried memory suddenly resurfaced.

By coincidence, Jason Carter saw Emily Thompson and Brian Cooper walking side by side.

After three years apart, Brian Cooper now looked every bit the successful man: a stylish haircut, suit and tie, and a pair of shiny leather shoes.

Emily Thompson was holding onto Brian Cooper’s arm, and she too had shed her former innocence. She was adorned in gold and silver, wearing a fur coat and high-heeled leather boots, looking very fashionable.
