Chapter 9

Although there are all kinds of intelligent tools, the school still preserves the traditional rule that students must personally clean and tidy up the school before the start of the semester.

Sean Foster nodded and got on his electromagnetic bike. He couldn’t help but think that even in this world, an electromagnetic bike was considered a mid-range expense; most people could only take public transportation. It wasn’t that Sean Foster couldn’t afford one, but as a homebody, he simply didn’t need it.

After casually chatting for a bit, he arrived at the school before he knew it.

The school was basically submerged in greenery. Every building had its own driveway, with green lawns and small groves on either side. The various buildings of the school didn’t seem unified, each with a different style.

Sean Foster even saw a Greek-style hall with elegant white marble columns. Many buildings had lush green vines climbing up the walls, bringing a splash of color.

Sean Foster’s dormitory was actually an apartment building, three stories high, with trees and lawns nearby as well.

Student dormitories, while considering living space, focused more on cultivating students’ social skills. So, each apartment housed three people, with three bedrooms and one living room, sharing a bathroom, living room, and kitchen.

With a swipe of his card, the door opened automatically. Someone was already inside.

A young man was busy sweeping the floor. Hearing the sound, he looked up.

“Thomas Miller, hello, we’re late.” Sean Foster searched his memory and greeted politely.

“It’s fine, I just got here first.”

Thomas Miller was quite handsome, with a touch of heroism. The two shook hands.

At the moment their hands met, Sean Foster’s brows furrowed slightly. As their hands clasped, an invisible force touched between them.

The jade ruyi inside his body suddenly stirred for a hundredth of a second. A faint power followed the point of contact, traveling upward and entering the other’s body.

This contact lasted only an instant. When their hands parted, the power had already swiftly returned to Sean Foster’s body. In that moment, a comprehensive three-dimensional diagram of the human body appeared in Sean Foster’s mind, showing the flow of energy within.

Thomas Miller seemed a bit puzzled, but couldn’t sense anything unusual. He just smiled and said, “Sean Foster, you’ve made a lot of progress lately. Did you study hard over the break?”

Thomas Miller was just an ordinary kid, with a family background much poorer than the original Sean Foster. If it were the old Sean Foster, he might have looked down on him, but the current Sean Foster felt a chill in his heart.

He had diligently cultivated for two months, and his internal energy had increased by ten percent, but the total amount of internal energy in Thomas Miller’s body was at least double his own.

Chapter 3: Internal Energy (Part 2)

He smiled and said, “Yes, I put in some effort. Here, let me help you mop the floor!”

“Oh wow, Sean Foster, you’ve changed a lot. You never used to do this stuff.” Charles Thompson chimed in at this moment.

“People always change, Charles. You don’t need to do anything. Go buy some ingredients. I learned a bit of cooking over the break, and today I’m going to cook.”

“Geez, you can cook? Don’t turn us into your test subjects!” Charles Thompson couldn’t help but roll his eyes.

“Stop rolling your eyes and get going, will you?”

Charles Thompson grumbled a bit, but obediently went out.

Actually, the dorm had a cleaning system. With both of them working together, it didn’t take long to clean the living room, balcony, kitchen, and bathroom. Each person naturally cleaned their own room.

He swiped his card to open the door. Although he hadn’t lived there for a long time, there wasn’t the slightest odor in the room.

A bed, computer system, wardrobe, and desk—just that simple.

If you were lazy, you could move in as is. He wasn’t a neat freak, but he still tidied up a bit.

He opened the window to let the fresh breeze in. In the woods not far away, birds were chirping.

After cleaning for a while and almost finishing tidying up the room, he was surprised to notice dark clouds slowly approaching. Before long, a few raindrops began to fall. The rain wasn’t heavy, but it was misty, enveloping the whole world.

He was surprised to find that Thomas Miller had already gone out. The balcony door hadn’t been closed, and the thick humidity blew in, making the room feel cool and fresh.

Sean Foster sat on the living room sofa, calming his mind. Instantly, a thread of energy began to circulate in the jade ruyi. It was a diagram of internal energy flow.

Sean Foster was thoughtful and began to observe carefully. This flow diagram wasn’t particularly special, except that the qi sea area was a bit deeper. If there was anything different, it was that a few of the connections and circulation methods had changed slightly. But even these small changes, over time, would add up to a significant improvement.

It seemed to be some kind of technique, with a familiar feeling. Sean Foster thought of the booklet Uncle Scott had given him, so he took it out and read it carefully. Sure enough, before long, he found a similar explanation inside.

He thought for a moment and couldn’t help but laugh. How many true secrets are there in the world? But some techniques and insights, hidden in public versions, aren’t something everyone can learn.

It’s just like those good students on Earth—maybe they have some study techniques, but they’re neither secret nor known to everyone.

So, comparing the internal energy diagram with the explanations in the booklet, he quickly understood quite a bit.
