Chapter 15

Half an hour later, Sean Foster stood up and glanced at Thomas Miller, who was still shrouded in sunlight, silent and motionless.

Truly a person of great perseverance, but does he also possess great wisdom?

Returning to the kitchen, by now the congee was almost done. He chopped up the second preserved egg, fished out the lean meat that had been cooking in the congee, shredded it with chopsticks, then put it back into the congee along with the second preserved egg, and continued simmering over a low flame.

Next was tidying up the living room. He sat on the sofa, slowly reading that booklet, taking his time to digest the key points about cultivation mentioned in the book.

After reading for a while, he turned off the stove, served himself a bowl, and drank it—it was truly soft, smooth, and fragrant.

“Isn’t making this quite a hassle?” Thomas Miller came in at this moment.

“It’s no trouble, just something I do occasionally. Governing a great nation is like cooking a small fish, and the reverse is also true.” After finishing, Sean Foster said calmly, “You should have a bowl too. I’m off to take my exam.”

With that, he left, leaving Thomas Miller deep in thought.

“Yubing, wake up, it’s time to get up.” The computer called softly.

Olivia Harris woke up, turned over in bed, and sighed. But after a while, she got up—sleeping couldn’t help her escape her troubles, and she certainly couldn’t sleep for a thousand years.

After getting up, she pressed a button to open the curtains. The golden-red morning sun instantly flooded the entire room.

Just then, the computer beeped: “Your friend Pearl Howard wants to call you. Do you want to connect?”

“Connect.”

After a few seconds, a girl’s voice came through: “Bingbing, Olivia Harris, you’re up! I thought you were going to sleep for days and nights.”

Hearing this, Olivia Harris couldn’t help but say, “I’m not that useless!”

“Tsk tsk tsk, Bingbing really lives up to her name. It’s just a breakup—could that really defeat Olivia Harris? I don’t believe it. Evelyn Thompson isn’t that great.”

“Can you say one less thing?” Olivia Harris said helplessly.

“You just lack experience, that’s all. Love is just like this. Right now, you don’t even want to mention it—not because Evelyn Thompson is so amazing, but because you lack experience. It’s fine. After a while, when you hear this name, you’ll feel some pain, some confusion. After a bit more time, you’ll remember his good points. After a while longer, the name will just feel a bit familiar, becoming a blurry part of the past.”

Olivia Harris sneered, “How long will that take? Five years? Ten years?”

“It won’t take that long. You’re overestimating yourself. Whether man or woman, forgetting happens very, very quickly.”

“Listening to you, it sounds like you’ve been through a lot.”

“Pfft, actually, I really have!” Pearl Howard said with a hint of melancholy. “Oh, let’s not talk about that. You’re about to break through the pure vital energy stage, right? Interested in joining a soul journey?”

Olivia Harris was silent, thinking for a moment, then smiled: “Have you already done it?”

“Yeah, I’ve had an incarnation experience—unforgettable. When I incarnated, it really felt like I was that person at that time. I didn’t even know who I really was.”

Olivia Harris said, “You mean—a dream of the yellow millet?”

“Who can tell what’s real or fake? Olivia Harris, let’s travel the world together. That world may not be as perfect as this one, but it has its own charm. Just remember, don’t get attached there, and don’t forget who you are.”

After hearing this, Olivia Harris suddenly said, “Alright, where do I sign up?”

“Once you arrive, I’ll take you.” Pearl Howard said, then turned off the computer.

Olivia Harris got up and went to the bathroom to start taking off her pajamas.

Chapter Five: Soul Journey (Part Two)

After getting up, this was something she did every day—taking a shower, along with one at night, making it two showers a day.

Water at just the right temperature washed down from above, bringing a tingling sensation like tiny electric currents, making her body feel a bit weak. In fact, girls enter puberty earlier than boys, and mature earlier too, so she was no stranger to this kind of pleasure.

In the misty mirror, her naked body appeared faintly.

Snow-white bones and icy skin, her flesh soft and tender, her breasts high and full with rosy nipples, a slender waist and abdomen, and long legs below. An indescribable feeling welled up in her heart.

She gazed at herself like this. At first, she felt pity for herself, but as she looked, tears began to fall.

After a while, she snapped out of it, dried herself off, and left the bathroom.

Back in her room, she didn’t rush to get dressed. She waited for her long hair to dry, put on a bit of light makeup—just brightening her lips—and after thinking for a moment, decided not to choose any of her old clothes.

After a short wait, she picked out a new pale yellow dress: a simply designed top, and a skirt that was a bit short and tight. But after putting it on, with a third of her thighs exposed, her legs looked even longer, highlighting her allure as a girl, yet not so short as to seem too revealing. It was just right. Although she was in a bad mood, her girlish nature still made her smile a little.

Her brows and eyes were like a painting, her demeanor calm and elegant. She had once again become the composed beauty everyone saw. Those who truly knew her charm and a woman’s secrets were few indeed.

When many people looked at her from afar, she only smiled calmly. But who could really know how she felt inside?
