Chapter 14

It was still early; there was some time before dawn. William Bolton’s expression shifted slightly, then he grabbed his clothes and walked out.

After slaying the giant serpent last night, he had absorbed its primordial spirit, taken its inner core, and hadn’t even had time to deal with its physical body. Now he had to take care of it—after all, this was inside a school. If someone else saw it, it would definitely cause quite a stir, which would do nothing to help him keep a low profile.

Familiar with the routine, he climbed over the wall and entered, heading to the spot on the back hill where last night’s battle had taken place. Fortunately, this place was rarely visited, and the “rumors” circulating within the school these past two days had made the students fearful of the back hill. So, even after a whole day, the serpent’s shattered body still lay scattered on the ground.

After focusing his mind and thinking for a moment, William Bolton actually felt a bit regretful.

This serpent had cultivated on its own for a hundred years, and its flesh had absorbed some of the world’s spiritual energy. If he’d had the chance last night, he should have processed the snake meat, saved it for future cooking or making medicinal wine—things that would have helped his own cultivation. But now, a whole day had passed, and even if the snake meat still contained spiritual energy, it had already dissipated. What lay on the ground now was nothing more than ordinary snake meat.

It took a great deal of effort to dig a hole in a hollow on the back hill, bury all the snake meat, and then erase some traces of last night’s battle. Only then did William Bolton clap his hands and let out a breath.

It felt like he’d forgotten something. William Bolton scratched his head, but no matter how hard he tried, he couldn’t remember what it was.

He didn’t feel like practicing swordsmanship today, so William Bolton simply wandered around the campus, soaking in the youthful energy.

Hmm, young people these days really have no sense of propriety.

Those girls seemed to want to wear as little as possible, thinking the more they revealed, the more beautiful they were. Fair, bare thighs, petite navels, soft white bare feet, perky and round hips, slender waists just right for holding...

William Bolton kept his eyes and ears open, glancing around while cursing under his breath, “What a disgrace, the world’s morals are declining.” A thousand years ago, even the female disciples of the demonic sects didn’t dress so scantily.

But... damn, it was really a thrill.

Just as he was happily peeping, a slightly mocking laugh suddenly sounded by his ear: “Yo, isn’t this our dorm mate William Bolton? Haven’t seen you in a while.”

William Bolton frowned and turned his head, just in time to see a few guys from his dorm walking over. Samuel Turner, with whom he’d had some past conflicts, was leading the way, a trace of cold malice barely hidden on his lecherous face.

The other guys in the dorm also snickered. Another student named David Parker gave William Bolton a contemptuous look, tugged on Samuel Turner and said, “Sam Turner, let’s go, don’t bother with this guy. He never treats us like brothers.”

Samuel Turner, pulled along by David Parker, turned back as he walked and said to William Bolton, “If you don’t treat us like brothers, don’t blame me for not reminding you—today’s the day to report your graduation project progress to the advisor.”

As he spoke, Samuel Turner waved the file folder in his hand.

“He hasn’t worked on it for weeks. Bet he didn’t do anything this week either,” David Parker said.

“Haha, I knew it, that’s why I brought it up,” Samuel Turner laughed loudly.

William Bolton was stunned for a moment. Looking more closely, he saw the others were also holding khaki file folders.

Damn it, so that’s what he’d forgotten—today was Friday.

He rushed home, found his graduation project folder, blew the dust off it, and hurried to the office.

What a pain. Having reincarnated into a mortal body, William Bolton couldn’t avoid getting caught up in mundane affairs, and now he was out of options. He’d only been gathering qi for two months since graduation, had no cultivation to speak of, and couldn’t leave here. Ignoring these things would only make matters worse.

By the time William Bolton burst into the office, it was almost eleven o’clock.

He walked in with a calm face, just about to greet his advisor, but the words caught in his throat as he stared, unblinking, at a beautiful woman sitting in a chair.

This beauty had a face as poetic as a painting, flawless and delicate. Her beautiful hair cascaded over her shoulders, and she wore a slightly loose white floral blouse that perfectly outlined her graceful curves. She sat quietly in the chair, exuding the air of a refined and elegant lady. The men from the dorm all had eyes shining with excitement, wearing fawning smiles as they chatted beside her.

The beauty rested her chin on her hand, winked playfully at William Bolton, and lazily greeted him, “Hi.”

“What are you doing here?” After a long pause, William Bolton finally spoke.

He’d thought that after shattering her expectations last time, there would be no more connection between them. He hadn’t expected this girl to actually find her way here.

“I came to see you,” Grace Foster said, looking a bit aggrieved, her big eyes blinking, causing the guys nearby to breathe heavily.

“Is that not allowed?” As she spoke, a faint mist appeared in those beautiful eyes...

A femme fatale! A true disaster!
