Chapter 19

Absentmindedly, he ordered two dishes at the small food stall and ate alone in a gloomy mood.

After William Bolton finished eating and walked out, he was immediately spotted by David Parker, who had been searching for him everywhere.

David Parker, trembling, took out his phone, dialed a number, and lowered his voice: “I found him.”

A sweet, syrupy voice came from the other end: “Good job. Don’t alert him yet. Follow him and see where he lives.”

“Got it.” David Parker, suppressing his excitement, hung up and trailed William Bolton from a distance.

If it had been before, William Bolton would have noticed someone following him long ago. But now... ever since his reincarnation, his cultivation was lost, and after only two months of gathering qi, his soul power was extremely weak and couldn’t be projected outward to sense anything. So, even as he walked step by step back to his own home, he didn’t notice David Parker following behind.

When William Bolton entered a residential complex and went upstairs, David Parker took out his phone again to report the location to the person on the other end.

Half an hour later, a stunningly curvy beauty slowly walked up to David Parker. Her hair was casually tied up, she wore a white shirt and tight casual pants, her ample chest and perky hips accentuating her slender waist. Every movement exuded a subtle, mature charm.

The beauty was none other than the assistant Emily Brooks who had appeared in the office earlier. Now, with just a casual change of clothes, she fully displayed her allure.

She walked over to the sneaky David Parker, patted his shoulder, and asked softly, “Where is he?”

David Parker was startled. When he turned and saw it was Emily Brooks, he immediately wore a dazed expression, staring foolishly at her exquisite face.

Emily Brooks had put on light makeup, and a natural fragrance emanated from her, intoxicating to the senses.

“Little brat!” Emily Brooks cursed inwardly, but her face was adorned with a smile that could melt any man, as she gently asked, “Where is he?”

David Parker swallowed, his throat dry, and turned to point at a building entrance: “I saw him go up there, but I don’t know which floor.”

“All right, I’ll take it from here. You can go now.” Emily Brooks nodded lightly.

“Our previous agreement…” David Parker quickly dropped his lecherous look and asked with a fawning smile.

“Don’t worry, you’ll get an interview opportunity. As for whether you’re hired or not, that’s up to the supervisor.”

“Thank you, thank you so much.” David Parker was instantly elated.

At this moment, William Bolton was sitting at home reading the newspaper. He usually didn’t cultivate during the day—first, because there were too many people around and the spiritual energy was turbid; second, because it was noisy and not suitable for cultivation.

“Ding dong!” The doorbell suddenly rang. William Bolton turned his head and saw it was his own doorbell. After hesitating for a moment, he asked, “Who is it?”

“I’m a downstairs neighbor. Is your bathroom pipe broken? It’s been leaking water down here. Can I take a look?” came a woman’s voice from outside.

A broken pipe? If that’s the case, it would be troublesome for the neighbor. William Bolton didn’t suspect anything, stood up, and opened the door.

Standing outside was a mature woman with a bright smile. William Bolton was stunned—wasn’t this the assistant he saw earlier?

In that brief moment of surprise, the assistant had already walked in uninvited, closing the door behind her. She patted her ample chest and let out a breath: “Finally found you.”

Damn it, fell for the trick! No wonder the voice sounded familiar.

“Is this about the contract again?” William Bolton patted his forehead. “Didn’t I already tell you? I refuse!”

“I never said anything about a contract.” Emily Brooks blinked her charming eyes, a hint of moisture glimmering, her rosy lips parting slightly. “I just came to see you.”

“Are we that close? What are you looking at me for?” William Bolton was getting a headache.

“Familiarity comes with time.” Emily Brooks was completely at ease, walking over to the sofa and sitting down. She turned to William Bolton and said, “A guest is here, aren’t you going to offer a drink?”

William Bolton shook his head and sighed, then poured a glass of water and set it in front of Emily Brooks: “All I have is plain water.”

“Drinking plain water is good for your health.” Emily Brooks took a sip, then lounged lazily on the sofa, glancing around at the surroundings: “Oh my, is this really a student’s bedroom? And a male student’s at that?”

“What’s wrong? Is there a problem?” William Bolton really wanted to kick this woman out.

“Our classmates never kept things this tidy. And there’s not even a hint of odor in here. No TV, no computer, no fan—your life must be pretty boring.”

“That’s my business, not yours.” William Bolton was getting impatient.

“It’s so hot.” Emily Brooks didn’t care about William Bolton’s tone at all. She reached up and unbuttoned the top button of her shirt.

It was already a bit hot in summer, and with no fan here, it was even hotter.

Emily Brooks’s figure was very full, and as she undid the button, she deliberately bent forward, bracing her hands on her knees, facing William Bolton.
