Blood Mark Magic is a unique marking spell possessed only by high-level vampires. As long as someone has had their blood sucked, this magic will cling to them. The main feature of this magic is that it has no symptoms and is extremely difficult to remove.
Right now, he didn’t feel anything at all. Even using elemental perception, he couldn’t detect any abnormalities—he couldn’t sense it at all, let alone remove it.
The female huntress, however, thought Logan Carter didn’t understand and began to explain: “The blood mark is a tracking spell used by high-level vampires. As long as they’ve sucked your blood, your blood will be branded with the vampire’s mark... Don’t ask too much, I don’t really understand it either. You’ll know when we get to Holderburg.”
“One last question: how long will it take us to reach Holderburg?”
“It’s a three-day journey. During these three days, we have to be on guard against ambushes from high-level vampires at all times.”
Logan Carter’s mood turned rather gloomy. “Oh, I’m really out of luck... Slow down a bit, you’re riding so fast I feel like I’m going to throw up.”
With just the two of them, if vampire Gavin Clark wanted to deal with them, there’d be no need for an ambush—he could just crush them outright. Plus, with the marking effect of the blood mark magic, there was no way they could actually escape to Holderburg. The only possible outcome was being intercepted and killed by Gavin Clark along the way.
If he wanted to survive, the only way was to fight vampire Gavin Clark to the bitter end!
But how to fight to the end?
Logan Carter narrowed his eyes, his hand subconsciously gripping the alchemy potion bottle in his pack: ‘Gavin Clark, maybe you’ll end up killing me after all, but as long as I can catch my breath, I’ll definitely make you taste my methods!’
The female huntress had no idea what Logan Carter was thinking. She shouted, “No, we can’t slow down, we have to go faster, or neither of us will make it out alive!”
With that, the huntress snapped her whip and shouted, “Faster! Faster! Lili, speed up!”

Chapter 7: Silly Girl Annie
Under the moonlit night, across the wilderness, a black horse galloped like the wind.
On horseback, Logan Carter was being jolted so much he felt dizzy and sick to his stomach. He was absolutely certain that if this kept up, he’d end up vomiting everything in his stomach.
“Hey~ slow down~ I can’t take it anymore~ hey!” Logan Carter shouted with all his might.
“My name’s not ‘hey’~ I’m Annie.” The female huntress replied, slowing the horse a little. She glanced back, her expression anxious: “We haven’t gotten far enough yet. That vampire will catch up soon.”
With the horse slowing down, the ride became much smoother, and Logan Carter felt a bit better. He acted as if he hadn’t heard her words at all: “Annie~ Annie, that really doesn’t sound like a huntress’s name.”
“My name is none of your business!” Huntress Annie replied coldly, looking Logan Carter up and down. “Hey~ are you feeling any better? I’m about to speed up again.”
“Wait, wait, wait~” Logan Carter hurriedly called out.
“Rich boy, haven’t you figured out the situation yet? We’re running for our lives here, there’s no time for fussing! Lili...” Annie was quickly losing patience. She raised her hands, about to shake the reins and urge the horse on.
Logan Carter had to speak faster: “Let me ask you, if Lili keeps up her top speed, how long can she run?”
“She can last half an hour, covering about 50 kilometers,” Annie answered without hesitation.
“Fifty kilometers in half an hour, that’s a hundred kilometers in an hour~ Horses in this world sure can run,” Logan Carter muttered, then quickly asked, “Do you know how fast a high-level vampire can run? And for how long?”
Annie was taken aback: “I’m not really sure, but probably faster than my Lili, right?”
Logan Carter chuckled, “Doesn’t matter if you don’t know, I’ll tell you. The high-level vampire who attacked my family’s estate is called Gavin Clark, and his stamina and strength are both incredible. He can, at the very least—remember, at the very least—run at full speed for two hours straight, covering 300 kilometers without stopping.”
This wasn’t something Logan Carter made up; he’d tested it in the game. To defeat Gavin Clark, he’d tried 49 times, using every method he could think of.
Once, he tried to kite Gavin Clark on horseback, but ended up running three horses to death while Gavin Clark was completely fine. If he hadn’t kept harassing him with crossbow bolts, he wouldn’t have been able to kite him at all, because once Gavin Clark entered his monster form, his full-speed running was at least 20% faster than a galloping horse.
Annie was shocked: “How could he be that strong? How do you know all this?”
“I read it in a book. The author’s name is Albert, a very powerful mage. His books are hard to read, but the data is very reliable,” Logan Carter made up a book on the spot.
Annie was clearly not so easy to fool: “How could Albert possibly have measured data like that? Did he have dealings with Gavin Clark?”
Logan Carter was momentarily stunned—this girl was actually pressing him on the details. But that didn’t stump him. He quickly came up with an explanation: “You guessed right. Albert did have dealings with Gavin Clark. He’s a master of illusion magic, and once trapped Gavin Clark in an illusion barrier for two hours. Inside the barrier, under the influence of the illusion, Gavin Clark kept running at full speed. So, this data is very reliable.”
“So that’s how it is.”
Maybe it was because Logan Carter had performed well earlier, or maybe his explanation sounded convincing, but in any case, Annie believed him. She furrowed her brows, biting her lip, as if deep in thought.
